Minot's youth program is growing and will continue to grow. Also, there are plans in the works to add a 3rd sheet of ice (with decent seating for the junior team, etc.) to the MAYSA complex.

Good grief. I have lived in both Minot and Grand Forks, and in both cities, the colloquial term is "Air Base". Although both terms are commonly used and no one is offended one way or the other in every day use. And yes I have spent considerable time on the Base (both for fun and for work).

Is that because they more consistently win though (or said another way, are the Gophers popularity problems a result of continued lack of competitive teams rather then a competitive sports market)? Washington-Seattle has no problem with popularity despite the huge fan base for the Seahawks and Mariners. Thought now that I do more research, interestingly, there are very few "big time schools" in states' largest population centers.

Does anyone know much about the ADM? I looked at the site briefly, and it didn't really spell out what the ADM consists of.

Do you know if there is any truth to the rumor? The paper just had a story saying that it would cost something like half a million dollars to develop a new nickname. (IIRC)
