The least they could have done for the students there would have been to let them on the field. Definitively would have been a memory that would have stuck with those students. Perhaps it would have even made them hardcores for next year. Who knows. But don't stop the excitement from happening like that.

What does a school like Wisconsin or Boston College do that brings them huge crowds for football and hockey not to mention basketball?

Property taxes need to be abolished. It is not right that anyone should be at risk to losing their house/land because they are unable to pay property taxes. Property taxes are essentially like paying the government for your land. I think you missed the point. Notre Dame may be small in college hockey, but it doesn't matter when Versus/NBC's goal isn't to attract viewers from the relatively small market that is college hockey but rather is to attract as many viewers as possible. And Notre Dame will do that for them.

If you are talking college hockey, yeah, UND, DU, CC, and UMD fans would not be happy about having Notre Dame hockey on all the time. But if you are a general sports network, and want to attract as many viewers as possible, Notre Dame will bring way more eye balls then all of those schools. Obviously it shows that DU is in a large market and is also a prominent hockey school based on the number of games they are getting. So if UND, DU, CC, and UMD fans are happy not being on a fairly big time network because the big time network would want more game from the big time school (but less so in hockey), its hard for me to understand. There are two sides to every coin of course, and while it is nice that the NCHC didn't just sell out to Notre Dame, it also would have been nice to have Notre Dame over SCSU and consequently have more conference games on TV and the Conference Tourney (which UND likely does well in as apposed to Notre Dame) as well.

Kinda figured something like this might happen when Notre Dame went Hockey East.
