$62 million in total athletic department revenue, or just from football?
-
Interesting. So that would be ticket sales, advertising, and revenue generated from potential TV viewers? Crap, does Iowa State fit that criterion?
-
Condensed version. ONE poster said NDSU could make a strong case due to sports offered, geographic footprint, and academics, but the state of ND would have to get behind NDSU big time and that would never happen. Another poster asked him if he was serious and he said no, that basically his point was that even if a conference like the Big 12 was interested it would take a gigantic investment from the state for it to happen and that's impossible. My main point was that there is not anybody on Bisonville claiming NDSU has a shot at Big 12 membership. Nobody. Zero, Zilch, Zamboni.
-
Nobody on Bisonville thinks the Big XII is a possibility. The one guy who talking hypothetically about it even admitted he wasn't serious.
-
He's actually been exactly the opposite of that in my dealings with him. Always has time to talk, and is very pleasant. And believe me, I am far from being a big deal.

When I originally posted that I was thinking a 10-2 regular season with a semi-final or national championship game appearance. At this point I hope I under-estimated the win total. I didn't really watch many of your games this year, but from the sounds of things you guys were what I thought you'd be. Some good wins, 'good' losses, some wtf moments, and overall a marked improvement from the last few years.
-
But do all Big Sky venues have the capability to showcase a game the way ESPN wants it to be viewed, i.e. HD cameras, multiple camera angles, etc.? I'm guessing ESPN will bring their own crew and equipment to Washington-Grizzly Stadium next year, so the investment will be the same as if they were going anywhere else.
-
Idaho State has two DII wins. They're out. Montana's out if they lose, both Montana and MSU are probably in if the Griz win. Northern Arizona has some terrible losses this year. It will be interesting to see what the committee does if it comes down to a 4 loss Valley team or NAU.

Home field is determined by the higher seed for the 8 seeded teams. For the rest of the field, you are correct, home field is determined by the highest bid.

NDSU to move to FBS with an invite from the Sun Belch?
NDSU grad replied to SiouxVolley's topic in NCAA News
I think that was McFeeley throwing a number up in the air. I think the cost would be more $125-150 million. -
I've only seen him play once. Very good athlete, but I just didn't see a DI arm. Maybe he's being recruited at another position.
-
I know when the Bison were using the punter as a holder, Bohl said it was so it wouldn't take practice reps away from the holder's regular position when they were working on the kicking game. I don't know if I agree with that, but that was the rationale.

The AGS poll is the best one. Any of you guys participate in it?
-
No, just the truth.

The reservation has always been a hellhole. There's just more people there now.

Don't treat your defensive possessions as a way to pass time until your offense gets the ball back.
-
I don't know the numbers and am not in the industry, but I still think this comes down to power. You can expand track capacity all you want, but if you don't have the locomotives it doesn't do any good. Even before the boom hit, the BN didn't have enough power during some times of the year to just handle grain. I can't imagine the situation is any better now. Farmers are investing in storage like crazy right now to help deal with the situation.

I know Mike Williams was on the radio not too long ago, and Fargo leaders are projecting a population of 250,000 by 2040.
-
Carpio, Donnybrook, and Tolley closed. Mohall, Lansford, and Sherwood consolidated to form the M-L-S Mavericks, but I don't believe they use the schools in Lansford or Sherwood.
-
Kenmare Honkers, Carpio Cardinals, Donnybrook Hi-Liners, Tolley Tigers, Sherwood Wildcats, Lansford Cubs, Glenburn Panthers, and Mohall Yellowjackets. Only Kenmare, Glenburn, and Mohall survive today
-
That makes sense. District 23 must have been Westhope, Souris, Maxbass, Newburg, Willow City, Dunseith, and Upham. I'm guessing Antler and Kramer may have been in that district at some time.

Shanley vs Minot Ryan girls basketball
NDSU grad replied to SiouxFan100's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I understand where you're coming from, but South Prairie isn't really a consolidation, but rather a school built in the middle of nowhere (on the prairie south of Minot, hence the name). It's been a k-8 school for around 60 years, but with the growth on the south side of Minot they feel they have enough of an enrollment to support a high school. What will be interesting is if the population on the south side of Minot ask to be annexed into Minot Public Schools, since it's kind of an inconvenience for them to send their kids 10 miles south of town when there will soon be an Minot Public elementary school blocks from many of those houses. -
I can't help with region 8 but region 6 consisted of districts 21-24. District 24 consisted of Tolley, Donnybrook, Kenmare, Mohall, Sherwook, Glenburn, Lansford, and Carpio. District tournament was in Kenmare. District 22 was Berthold, Des Lacs-Burlington, Surrey, Sawyer, Velva, Granville, and Deering. Not as sure about the other two districts, but one consisted of Garrison, Washburn, and other towns south of the lake. The other district was Newburg, Westhope and other towns across the north central.

Over. NDSU at 12 or 13 and I see 5-6 wins on UND's schedule.

It's not really a railcar issue, it's a power and rail issue. The BN is currently doubling track capacity between Williston and Minot, and the CP is putting adding sidings to help alleviate the traffic issue. But I think adding pipeline capacity is really the only way to reduce the rail traffic issue.
