  1. I think that was McFeeley throwing a number up in the air. I think the cost would be more $125-150 million.
  2. I've only seen him play once. Very good athlete, but I just didn't see a DI arm. Maybe he's being recruited at another position.
  3. I know when the Bison were using the punter as a holder, Bohl said it was so it wouldn't take practice reps away from the holder's regular position when they were working on the kicking game. I don't know if I agree with that, but that was the rationale.
  4. The AGS poll is the best one. Any of you guys participate in it?
  5. The reservation has always been a hellhole. There's just more people there now.
  6. Don't treat your defensive possessions as a way to pass time until your offense gets the ball back.
  7. I don't know the numbers and am not in the industry, but I still think this comes down to power. You can expand track capacity all you want, but if you don't have the locomotives it doesn't do any good. Even before the boom hit, the BN didn't have enough power during some times of the year to just handle grain. I can't imagine the situation is any better now. Farmers are investing in storage like crazy right now to help deal with the situation.
  8. I know Mike Williams was on the radio not too long ago, and Fargo leaders are projecting a population of 250,000 by 2040.
  9. Carpio, Donnybrook, and Tolley closed. Mohall, Lansford, and Sherwood consolidated to form the M-L-S Mavericks, but I don't believe they use the schools in Lansford or Sherwood.
  10. Kenmare Honkers, Carpio Cardinals, Donnybrook Hi-Liners, Tolley Tigers, Sherwood Wildcats, Lansford Cubs, Glenburn Panthers, and Mohall Yellowjackets. Only Kenmare, Glenburn, and Mohall survive today
  11. That makes sense. District 23 must have been Westhope, Souris, Maxbass, Newburg, Willow City, Dunseith, and Upham. I'm guessing Antler and Kramer may have been in that district at some time.
  12. I understand where you're coming from, but South Prairie isn't really a consolidation, but rather a school built in the middle of nowhere (on the prairie south of Minot, hence the name). It's been a k-8 school for around 60 years, but with the growth on the south side of Minot they feel they have enough of an enrollment to support a high school. What will be interesting is if the population on the south side of Minot ask to be annexed into Minot Public Schools, since it's kind of an inconvenience for them to send their kids 10 miles south of town when there will soon be an Minot Public elementary school blocks from many of those houses.
  13. I can't help with region 8 but region 6 consisted of districts 21-24. District 24 consisted of Tolley, Donnybrook, Kenmare, Mohall, Sherwook, Glenburn, Lansford, and Carpio. District tournament was in Kenmare. District 22 was Berthold, Des Lacs-Burlington, Surrey, Sawyer, Velva, Granville, and Deering. Not as sure about the other two districts, but one consisted of Garrison, Washburn, and other towns south of the lake. The other district was Newburg, Westhope and other towns across the north central.

    14.5

Over. NDSU at 12 or 13 and I see 5-6 wins on UND's schedule.
  15. It's not really a railcar issue, it's a power and rail issue. The BN is currently doubling track capacity between Williston and Minot, and the CP is putting adding sidings to help alleviate the traffic issue. But I think adding pipeline capacity is really the only way to reduce the rail traffic issue.
  16. 5dimes has UND +23 and NDSU +2 the last i saw them.
  17. LOL. I'm sure we would have heard about him and Pomeroy doing jag bombs in the rain forest together.
  18. I hate to stray even more off topic but one of the strangest sites I've ever seen at a football game was Earl Pomeroy (when he was still a U.S. representative) getting denied re-entry to the Fargodome. To his credit, he was really cool about it and never played the "Don't you know who I am" game.
  19. I'd have to think Crum is the front runner right now, but we'll probably have a list of finalists in a couple of weeks.
  20. I hate to split hairs but I'm guessing you guys are thinking of the 3-8 year. That was 2009. But you're right. Pretty quiet Fargodome for some games that year.
  21. This sounds very similar to Cal Ripken baseball. When I clinked on the link one of the Fargo tournaments had a Minot team participating, which has to be one of the Minot Cal Ripken teams. It's cool they start at 7 years old; is it coach pitch at that age? I'd definitely sign your kid up. Edit: After further perusal of the site, one of the links takes you to the North Dakota Cal Ripken Association, so it sounds like the two leagues are basically interchangeable.
  22. I live in Minot and this is my son's second year of Cal Ripken. It's a fantastic program. My son's far from being an all star but is competitive and does ok. It starts at 9 though, so your son might be out of luck until next year.
  23. I think he's referring to a merger between FCS and the G5.
  24. Those SIU teams were 1-5 against NDSU with Bubba leading the defense.
