I don't understand you Darell...First the name is not worth the cost, then to justify your position you have stated the name is really not the team/school, and then some R-tard in Fargo decides to say Sioux Suck and you get your underwear in a knot...Why? If the name and logo are not the team, then why get angry at all when someone taunts you with the name and logo? Is it because the name and logo are the same as the team??? Who cares? Its not our name anyways now and why would you care since you have been one of the many who have spouted that it costs too much to keep the name...Either you are for keeping the name or you are for removing the name...no in-between please, we have enough of that in Washington and our political leaders today.

Needless to say, Hockey is a top notch product for the state, city, and the university...once football starts to produce solid seasons and makes playoff runs, the fans will start to pay attention. Until you are able to have the steak dinners, you will eat Ramon noodles for quite a while....

I would say the average salary is around $40-50k...No real WC jobs that pay over $100k unless you are a Dr. or Professor in the Med School...One bedroom apartment is probably in the $700 range for a nice one, but remember students have scooped many of these already. Average house price in GF is probably around the $120 to $140k range...

I'm surprised you even view the hockey board...isn't that against your better judgement to give a crap about the only sport that financially supports all the other programs??? Yah, I probably am anomaly to your way of thinking when I feel justified tailgating and paying to go to the football games to only watch a half-ass performance by our team and not start falling all over them for winning in the last seconds. The biggest problem with the football team is not the nickname supporting hockey fans, but the poor product and coaching going on in the sport of Football at UND...Try there first and you might be able to solve the problem before we become the second Northern Colorado!

I think we need to schedule Sioux Falls again since it will most likely be the last time we hear the word Sioux attached to any UND event in the near future once our weeny SBOHE gets make their inevitable decision to remove the nickname...At least the Cougars represented the Sioux name well which is more than can be said for our team today....

Kudos to a classy opponents fan...SF should have won both games hands down...I hope you guys run the gammit for the rest of the year!

If anyone needs to ask why the fans don't show up at the game, all you have to do is visualize the product on the field right now...we are down to a Div 2 team and if you have been watching the game you would realize we are getting beaten at the basics....hope we enjoy next year when the real competition starts....

Anything less than a win, should result in Mussman being removed....If you can't learn from your mistakes, then you shouldn't be allowed to lead. Sioux Falls gave UND a clinic on how to play football basics last year and made us look like complete arses...either you have learned what to do or you have not - no excuses, no rationalizations....

I think it would be interesting to see how the two primary programs compare to each other at UND and NDSU...I still think the UND Hockey team has the overall edge on revenue generation and size of budget, but I'm no forensic accountant either!

I think everyone at UND understands who pays the bills for the Athletics Department...UND Fighting Sioux Hockey. Its not a hit against the football guys, but its the reality of the situation. NDSU's first love is Football and thus they generate the bulk of their income for the AD office... BobIwabuchiFan

Its the sioux for me no matter what bull-sh** name they come up with...its more than a name, its a belief of what the name stands for...some can give it away when the benefit to cost ratio is less than one, but others fight to keep it because its more than just a quick ratio or a situational awareness call...no ill will to others, just a statement of position. I hope Kelly doesn't hold it against him when he advocated for passing the Nickname legislation...it would be low class, but I wouldn't be surprised with this group of outstanding leaders....

I just stated what I saw at the game...the product on the field doesn't look better than what we had last year. The production value is important to the sports venue...Ask yourself if you went to see Hockey in a tin shed with the ridiculoous interviews and activities that go on during the football game. Honestly, the best part of the game was the tail-gating and apparently many Sioux fans actually agree with me as they tend to leave the tailgating event and go home to watch the football game. If you think I am being too harsh, you only have to look at the attendance at the games when we struggle with the next two games - again, it doesn't take a viking fan to realize you need a quarterback to win and to win on a regular basis. After seeing the product presented as the Fighting Sioux football team on Thursday, I think its a blessing the name goes away as their play doesn't come close to representing the Fighting Sioux anyways....

I went to the game on Thursday and regularly tail gate...The game was crap, the environment was terrible, and the product on the field was laughable...Needless to say, it will take alot more improvement for the Football team to represent the Fighting Sioux...Maybe its a blessing the name goes away as the Football team probably doesn't deserve to use it anymore with the product they put on the field. Lastly, I go to the hockey games and that is a real, professional product displayed night in and night out...The football game was a hyped version of what a high school puts out for production value...a screaming chick interviewing people in the stands and she couldn't even say Season Ticket holder at the delivery point of her interview. Additionally, the crowd was dead for most of the game and again the cool stuff they try to do with the video screens is no better than a monster truck show. Try getting some training from the folks at the Engelstad and maybe the tickets are worth the free price I paid since they were being handed out by many at the tailgate event....God help us when we actually play D-I talent on a regular basis. Great, now everyone can jump off the bandwagon again...Jesus people, get a freakin spine...We haven't even faced the NCAA yet on this and we have the usual candidates offerring the rationale again for surrender...No need to name you all, its pretty easy to see the rats jumpin' ship..Go ahead and when they get the NCAA to compromise you will have another opportunity to come back into the fold and tell everyone you were on our side from the beginning. I actually think the use of Bison is a swear word and place it in the same profanity category as NCAA...Both undesirable and ignorant...hopefully the children can be spared and these words will be removed from our langauge soon...

I think another benefit of the Fighting Sioux legislation is that it may cause NDSU to rethink its policy on playing teams with Native American nicknames and then they can be like their supposed equals in football in Minnesota and Wisconsin. I, for one, hope we never play these trolls again and just keep looking in the rear view mirror to see these guys go gently into the night. BobIwabuchiFan

Its moot anyways...the SBOHE already told the school to discontinue the process of retiring the nickname and they also allowed UND to begin planning for the marketing of the logo for next year as well...Again, after the NCAA sanction date is when we go to bat on the negotiations...It basically tells the NCAA that we won't challenge the consititionality of the law and we have full intention of complying. Hence, we are not in a position to comply with the agreement because we would be violating state law to do so...then begins the discussions in earnest about how to move on past this point in a favorable outcome for both parties or a compromise both can live with...I believe litigating the constitutionality of the law prior to the NCAA sanction deadline only benefits the NCAA and not UND or ND.... I'm no attorney either, but i don't understand why we have to have an expedited process for this...First, its the law and get used to it...Second, don't do a thing until we have passed the predetermined date for NCAA sanctions. Once we incur the sanctions, then we have the discussions...I don't understand the rush as none of this affects us for another year or so anyways and we'll have time to negotiate it then once we have almost 2 years under this legislation. Given the above, why are we in need of a final decision - I'll use a tactic of the nickname naysayers...Don't we have more important things to work on then trying to strike down a law approved by the people's representatives... You don't seem to get the politics of this...Glasheim is a stooge and was always against the nickname...the majority of GF legislators, who happen to be Democrat, voted agains the nickname bill because they apparently know whats better for UND and the people of GF and ND. To take this to court and have it ruled unconstitional would be a political death wish in my mind as you would be placing your self front and center against the majority of North Dakotan's...Anyone who is for the continued use of the nickname is against the people who constantly try to deny the outcomes of elections and votes because it goes against their supposedly better judgement.
