  1. Let me guess...its the intellectual heavyweights in elected offices as Democrats...so thats about 10 people overall? I hope these people understand what they are asking for with this snubbing of their nose against the electorate of ND...I hope this pushes it to a referendum immediately so we can show the NCAA that the people of both reservations are in approval of the use of the nickname... BobIwabuchiFan
  2. Means alot coming from guys who can't push it in at the 6 inch line....gotta hurt when you think you were that close....troll!
  3. Excellent description of the reality of this point in time between the two schools...
  4. Why would you give a crap...we don't play you anymore so why the need for comparisons? Anyone who still wants this crap is delusional...Our best game by the way was the one I flew my Dad and I out to see...Texas Tech...we lost by 20 pts, but prior to the game during discussions with the Texas Tech fans they were all confident they were going to have at least 60 pts and that we would be lucky to get a field goal. 3rd quarter had UND only down by 11 points and in possession of the ball...all of the TT students and fans were in utter shock and the stadium was totally quiet with only the Sioux fans cheering...Let's go Sioux! As my Dad and I walked out of the stadium with our green shirts in a see of Red, we were shocked to be approached by many TT fans stating they thought we had a very strong team and that we should do well with the rest of our season...So how do you like those apples? As always, the Sioux have grown up without the sister college in Fargo and now its no longer painful to think we don't get to kick your a@# all the time...Again, let it go and concentrate on something important to your team like how to drive the ball into the end zone from the 6 inch line without fumbling!!! What a Troll! BobIwabuchiFan
  5. Exactly...we don't need NDSU and they don't need us to be successfull...Let's move on now. Then, just maybe then, the Fargo trolls will leave permanently! Long live the Sioux and the Big Sky!!!
  6. Just like I said in my previous post...Both school have done pretty well without each other for the last 5-6 years. Simply said, they have moved on...If you want an occasional game and they and us are willing so be it, but its not that important any more...You can't tell me the first time Montana plays at the Alerus that we won't sell out? Also, when we start playing the FCS competition game in and game out, we won't want to play the teams south of GF anymore because it will only be tune-up game for better things... Lastly, to the guys who keep bitchin about the hockey fans at UND not supporting football give it a rest...the nickname is safe now and we can go back to pretending we make millions from the football and basketball games at UND now...battles over.... BobIwabuchiFan
  7. Any any intelligent professor will tell you that the tradition encompassing the nickname had nothing to do with the sports team's winning or competing nor did it have anything to do with Ralph Engelstad's donation... LOL BobIwabuchiFan
  8. I think UND has moved on from playing the Bison...No one really cares and the kids in school now have no idea what the competition was about...Let them go their own way and we'll go our way...also, who needs a bunch of trolls yelling Sioux Suck and helping out the liberal wankers at the Herald or the Forum formulate another reason for not keeping the nickname...
  9. Sorry, but Jacobs and Dennis are being paid by the Herald and they basically have to restrain themselves when it comes to the Nickname discussion. As for Omdahl, he is political hack that is allowed to voice his progressive, democrat positions any time he wants...again, the paper is primarily a progressive paper that pretends to be conservative when it fits their needs. Lastly, your point about one story for the nickname versus a multitude of stories and opinions against the nickname is evidence of the liberal, progressive leanings of the paper and shouldn't be dismissed away because we don't jump up and down with appreciation for letting our side of the arguement see the light of day once and a while in the Herald. I have stopped my subscription and won't continue until more conservative opinions start to make equal headway into the paper again... BobIwabuchiFan
  10. Did anyone happen to hear anything about the Herd Terds this year that was covered outside of the fargo forum and the grand forks herald? I think the problem people in fargo are having is the news about the Sioux nickname has had more press than NDSU has had their entire existence...I always like how the fargo folks take such pride in being erroneously associated with real Division I championship hockey, but you never hear anyone confuse UND with the supposed FCS powerhouse out of fargo because most folks outside of ND don't even know there is a college in fargo to begin with...this should help feed the trolls... BobIwabuchiFan P.S. I am watching that all American from UND right now in the playoffs or should I say the many all-Americans...still looking for someone from the NDSU all-century basketball team whenever I quite watching golf and decide to watch the last 3 minutes of the NBA playoff games....
  11. Exactly what the trolls need to do...we don't need those guys...go bother someone in SD or in Northern Iowa that gives a rats ass about Fargo and the Herd terds....Seriously, you really thought we would care what you have to say about our future in the Big Sky...really? BobIwabuchiFan
  12. Understandably as a Nickname supporter, I found Mr. Olsen's viewpoint to be very refreshing and based on a common sense evaluation of the situation. Contrary to the sky is falling approach we have heard from many people, I feel the approach being taken by ND will result in getting what we need from this situation some 6-12 months down the road when both sides have an opportunity to discuss without the media in ND and the UND faculty can't influence the situation. Indianapolis, here we come! BobIwabuchiFan
  13. The Forum hit piece today was more of the same crap you get from the Herald progressives...how is it that when people stand up for what is right versus what is expedient they are identified as stubborn mules. Apparently, stubborn mules is a metaphor for not being as smart as them. I actually take pride that we didn't back down from the NCAA and I think in this case principle means more than what is supposedly sacrificied by not complying with the dictatorship we call the NCAA. BobIwabuchiFan
  14. I, like you, think this whole recruiting thing is really over-rated...If we only want to recruit kids that want a home playoff game as their primary reason for choosing a school I would begin to question why these are the kids we want in the program. I want kids who care about winning, home or away, the system being run by the program, their opportunity to play as soon as possible, and the academic opportunities. We need to be a little more realistic about the caliper of atheletes were are going to recruit into football and basketball - unlike our sisters in Fargo, we realize that at most 1 or 2 kids each four years has the opportunity to maybe be a full time NFL or NBA player. I also think the atheletes realize this as well... BobIwabuchiFan
  15. I still don't see how this is going to affect our recruiting of atheletes??? Has it affected our hockey team that we don't get to have local national playoff games? I just don't see any direct evidence showing this supposed effect and even if it did how many start atheletes can you identify prior to being drafted? Seems like the few basketball players, the handfull of football players, and the multitude of hockey players that have gone pro when the programs were DIV II seem to refute your supposed gloom and doom effect on recruiting high-caliber atheletes to the University... BobIwabuchiFan
  16. I think its the law until its overturned...the University is starting to comply to the law and I haven't heard the SBOHE ready to fight the legislature in any articles and I think they are the only ones who could bring a case against the law..right? BobIwabuchiFan
  17. Et tu Brute seems like a very good forum heading considering that it is likely the SBOHE, UND Administration, and the possibly the AG will stab all of the UND Fighting Sioux fans in the back when it came to the meeting... BobIwabuchiFan
  18. I thought it would be nice to understand what everyone thinks might be the outcome.... BobIwabuchiFan
  19. I believe you because you are still a Sioux fan regardless of the outcome of this ridiculous social experiment...that goes for all of the folks on here with the few exceptions being the trolls....
  20. I have no illusion that the first move by the NCAA will be to move us back onto the H&A list...To the contrary, we need this to happen so we can start negotiations as soon as possible with the NCAA to find a resolution since the environment has changed since the agreement. I am sure you will tell me that the NCAA has all the leverage and all the power which they may do, but I have realized that everything is negotiatable and I am still holding to this opportunity to have calm minds discuss and find a path forward. I do not know of your lawyer skills personally, but I would think it safe to assume that you have advised many clients and probably have influenced many other parties to move forward when they thought there was no option to move the opposing party off a position to only find out, after the lawyers have met, that there was room for compromise and a settlement on a path forward. Maybe it is optimistic, but remember that only one month ago we were all resigned to the supposed fact that the name and its history were goners - low and behold, its still alive and we are in a better position since the beginning of this travesty. So who knows, but I'm not willing to give in... BobIwabuchiFan
  21. Honestly, I didn't need to keep a list because its easy to see who always plays the devil's advocate or accentuates the negatives of this recent positive turn for the Nickname in this forum...maybe you should try to reread you responses to count how many are clearly in favor of our current path and how many are against. If I was a betting man, I think you might be surprised... BobIwabuchiFan
  22. Thank God the legislature didn't listen to the noisy negativists on this board or we would already be the Fighting Lady Bugs from North Dakota...I'll wait to hear the retort from ScottM, CoachDaddy, IraMurphy, PhillySioux, and Lomackman - I'm sure it will be filled with all of the appropriate fence sitting, hand wringing assessments as usual to justify why they all love the name, but just can't risk it for not getting to play the gofers/badgers or sacrificing a home game for our tennis/BB/Baseball/Football teams or the Native Americans who have been fooled by the white majority to vote in favor of the nickname ... BobIwabuchiFan
  23. Oh my god...lets just drop the name now if we can't play the gophers or badgers in Hockey...what were we thinking???!!!??
