  1. And here are some photos from the game vs. Jefferson (the source of one of the above photos): Bloomington Jefferson vs. Bloomington Kennedy
  2. Neither is a perfect shot, but these give you some idea of the general look... simple sponsor name below the numbers on the white jerseys.
  3. Mentioned a page back or so, but no discussion -- light holiday traffic and all.

  5. A nice story that backs up some of the themes of this thread: The Northwestern Women's Lacrosse Team: From Infancy to Dynasty
  6. It sure would be nice if we could leave this thread open so people can continue to respond to dallassiouxfan if they have the image he's looking for...

  9. Just one more post I appreciate the updates... haven't been able to catch of it on tv yet.
  10. Yeah, Wisconsin hockey fans invented standing during the exciting parts of hockey games We also copied you on cheering after goals and throwing hats after a player gets three goals. I have been corrected from my post above, though... when we stood at the beginning of games when I was in school in the 90s, we stood until the first shot on goal, not the first whistle. So, maybe this is a new tradition after all
  11. Marto
  12. New tradition? Students were doing that long before and the entire time I was at UND. Hate to say, I'm with redwing; I wonder if the subtext is "all fans are expected to remain respectfully seated during play except during the designated standing time -- the first 23 seconds of each game".
  13. I know what you're asking, and this isn't QUITE the answer, but here's what is available now... Schedule of all Fox Sports games for 2009-10 That doesn't include a full year's schedule of Sioux Sports Extra, which is always on Wednesday evening and then a couple more times. I've chatted with the UND people about this, also, and they're already doing a great job of including television coverage in their per sport schedules: http://www.fightingsioux.com/SportSelect.d...amp;SPSID=58682 I know they're also aware of the demand for cross-sport improvements to that, so stay tuned... Meanwhile, I'll think about if there's anything we can do here to do something better in the short term.

  15. Hah -- you have a memory like a steel trap. I guess the race is on...
  16. I think Dressler might be the most mentioned Sioux player by the time we're done with this...
  17. Nov 27 Weston Dressler is UND's all-time leader in career postseason all-purpose yards (946). Nov 28 Sioux women's hockey goalies had combined for 945 saves (.898) as of Feb 23, 2009. source Nov 29 Women's ice hockey player Brittany Kirkham had 944 saves in 2006-07. Nov 30 Phil Lamoureux had a .943 SV% in the ECHL playoffs as of May 27 last year when the Herald declared him the last former Sioux player still playing. G.F. Herald source
  18. Didn't see this in the "Sioux Name in Trouble Again Thread" (sorry if I missed it). More national press on the issue: Tribe battles to keep logo for Fighting Sioux

  20. Wanting to check up on our team, I googled "Bloomington Kennedy Mites" and must say that, though they didn't teach me much about the team, I liked the first couple hits... http://lmgtfy.com/?q=bloomington+kennedy+mites I see our intermediates had their 2nd dryland practice tonight: http://www.kennedyhockey.org/page/show/99146-calendar. Excellent.
  21. The recent talk about home ice advantage made me decide that I should quit complaining and go contribute something, so here you go: On Home Ice Advantage (from http://blog.siouxsports.com) If you just want the conclusions, jump to the table in the post and then read below. Instead of just looking at winning percentage at home, I'm looking at the difference between winning percentage at home and winning percentage on the road. Not surprisingly, that different methodology leads to dramatically different conclusions from USCHO's. In WCHA play from 01-02 through 08-09: CC has, by a huge margin, the largest gap between home winning percentage and road winning percentage. AA has a huge home ice advantage -- with a .116 higher winning percentage at home than on the road (in percentage terms, the Seawolves are a whopping 49% more likely to win a given game at home than on the road, by far the largest in the WCHA). UND's home advantage is not particularly large, actually rather near the bottom of the WCHA. Only about .05 higher winning percentage at home than on the road (or about 8.5% more likely to win a given game at home than on the road). Minnesota appears to have a home ice disadvantage, with a .009 higher winning percentage on the road than at Mariucci. A few more disclaimers apply, which I won't get into here, but did in the blog post.
