I could really care less about that scenario....just win em both!

In order for und football to bypass ndsu without the head to head match up und would need to win many big sky games. This would take years. How long will it take for und football to win 3 fcs titles? I'm happy with the deal as a fan. I'd love to see und football get the attention ndsu football gets.

I'd agree wins over the top big sky teams are important. But if und wins the big sky conference do you think the band wagon hoppers will just hop back over to cheer for und? I think one good showing vs ndsu next year will do this much faster. It depends how you look at the deal that was signed. If you look at it being an away/away agreement for a low amount of dollars it looks terrible. But und has much more to win with these games played than ndsu does. I see this as a lose lose scenario for ndsu.

I didn't say that! I'm just going off of what I've observed as bison fans around the area. Very few people speak of und football. And I think a win over ndsu will be the fastest way for und to move the area's chains in und's direction.

Travel around to communities around the state. Communities closer to grand forks than Fargo and north of grand forks. Bison gear and signs are everywhere. You see very few people wearing und football gear. A win over ewu/Montana/Montana state won't change this the way a win over ndsu will. Ndsu's statewide tv deal helps their case also. More people in nd have access to the bison games. A win over them or even a competitive game against them will be huge for und.

Any other fcs team could have signed a better deal with ndsu than this. Sure. But why do you think gt continued to move the goal posts on this deal and sent an offer like this in the first place? As a und fan I'm glad the games are back on. Getting these games played are huge for und and could make und football a bigger deal than ndsu football currently is in nd. A loss for them could be disastrous for their program. I'm just taking a shot in the dark here but for every one und football fan in nd there is probably 5 ndsu football fans. Having these games played will change that in the right direction for und.

Great post. Obviously ndsu admin wasn't too high on the rivalry continuing. That's why dl they required the home and home. Tell me the last team they asked this of?? It makes sense. Ndsu football is currently the number 2 sporting team in the state. They are now at risk of becoming number 3.

Drove over the Columbia overpass this morning and saw the team practicing. Is it Thursday 9pm yet!!!

I think to most people their fbs regular season wins are bigger than their fcs titles. Gameday went to Fargo before their 3peat and after their win at Kansas st right?

Personally I want to see und succeed more than I want to see ndsu fall. But for und to succeed in gaining fans around the state they need to bypass ndsu. Very few people outside of nd care about either team. Ndsu has a better tv package for football statewide. Visit communities around the state and you will see more ndsu gear out there. Even in communities closer to grand forks. In order for und to succeed having ndsu fail would be very beneficial.

Those ndsu fans that didn't want to play und I can understand. When these games are played und football will be catching up with ndsu. I can understand ndsu not wanting this as und already has the lead with the top sports team in the state. Now ndsu is risking their football team being number 3. And according to bisonville, ndsu fans are more excited about this news than they are with the Iowa state game. If this was going to be such a distraction for ndsu why did they wait until right before the season to get the deal done? I guess they are used to distractions down there in Fargo anyway.

Ndsu has made every attempt to avoid these games. The only way they are taking place is because faison agreed to two consecutive away games. Then ndsu holds a press release stating the only reason these games were scheduled was to fill their schedule since they couldn't find fbs teams. Apparently ndsu isn't excited about the rivalry. The ndsu athletic department appears arrogant. I hope it comes back to bite em.

The few former bison players that were in the nfl last year.....add up their salaries and they don't even come close to what kuper made.

That 6 page per hour thread is about the und/ndsu scheduled games. More active than your season opener thread or any other current thread for that matter. At least und fans will admit that this brings excitement. Football is ndsu's number one sport. It is currently und's number 2. What happens when und's number 2 sport passes ndsu's number 1? Because eventually it will happen and these games will help move it in that direction.

If no one cares why is there a 64 page thread about the games in the past 12 hours on bisonville?

Oh I forgot that ndsu is on top of the football world and deserved for the news to be released when they were ready for it to be.

Would have been nice if Jorgensen would have elaborated during their press conference why the home and home with weber/Montana/ewubut not und. Can't wait for und to put those fools in their place.

Whoever's property the decision affects should have a big voice. I don't know the right answer though. What sticks in my head is the new power line running from center to grand forks because I know people that were affected by this with big power lines now running over their yard that weren't there in the past. I'd also be upset if I lived out west and had to deal with what's going on out there.

Sorry that you feel my attitude is ruining this country but every tax paying citizen should have a voice. I realize that anyone that built just south of town should have realized a bridge will be going somewhere eventually. I moved further out of town for this very reason. But you can't expect the people whose properties that are affected to just be ok with it. It's my opinion that it's not this attitude that's ruining the country. It's more of a big government ruining the country. But just my opinion:/
