  1. Maybe it would help a sell price. But should a family be forced to sell and move because of a road? If this was being done outside of town, in my eyes it would bring my personal value of the property down. The traffic would bring noise and additional danger no way around that. And if the property was used at all for hunting, this may no longer be an option on this property. Now if this were to happen in town I wouldn't have quite the same feelings. If you bought a home in town then you should have almost expected something like this to happen in the future. There's no hunting going on in town and the noise is already there to a certain extent. But put yourself in a certain family's shoes, who built after the flood off Belmont and 32nd ave so....would you want a bridge right there connecting you to the south side of egf? Consider me in the nimby crowd I guess! Even though we may be in the minority on certain specific issues, if we happen to be the property owner who is affected by one of these decisions, who should have the final say? Just because the majority is for it it doesn't make it right.
  2. That's fine. If the majority wants it they can pay for it. The landowners that had power lines over their property got paid. Well maybe not all of them, if the pole(s) were on your property you got some money. You could have a perfect country property on 20 acres and have the noisy power line run right over it and not be paid a dime. Depreciating a single family's property value to serve the majority with no reimbursement. Personally I feel all this continued development is ruining the amazing habitat/environment that has made our state great and no dollar amount can fix that.
  3. Not sure what nimby is but if I lived where they were planning to create more traffic I'd definitely be upset about it. Especially living outside of grand forks city limits. People leave the town to get away from the noise. So if gf/egf/truck traffic is going to bring the noise, someone better be paying for the depreciation of my property.
  4. With an Fta system you may be able to get this one on tv.
  5. I figured everyone knew of the town where the football champions come from!
  6. I'm very excited to learn of the CBS schedule for the year. Any coverage beyond that is a bonus!
  7. Tell me what other fcs teams ndsu has scheduled 2 consecutive games at the dome with with no return game.
  8. Tell me what other fcs schools schedule 2 consecutive away games at the fargodome. And tell me what other schools und schedules an away and away with no return game?
  9. Based on play the last few years no. Expectation-wise though I don't see it as a far fetched opinion.
  10. If that's what you need to make you feel better to right ahead and laugh. With that said, what is the annual attendance figure of the number 2 sport at ndsu?
  11. Many espn3 feeds have been available via Fta in the past.
  12. On wdaz they interviewed neighbors who said the smell of pot was prevalent on a regular basis at this apartment. Not trying to put anyone's name through the mud this was an absolutely terrible thing that happened but as an outsider looking in with only the info that's been put out it appears that this apartment was targeted for a reason. My guess is that the suspects are long gone from grand forks by now.
  13. He wouldn't know that because kvly pre empts so much NBC national programming to air ndsu practices.
  14. Doesn't the Red's undercurrent make swimming in it very dangerous?
  15. Also if you enjoy college hockey/basketball/football, have a few hundred dollars to invest, and a clear view of the south sky from ground level(at least 25 degrees to the east and west), a motorized ku band Fta system would make a great addition to your setup;) no more Sioux home games found this way but many of their away games plus many other games during the winter months. I wouldn't have it any other way. In 8 years I've saved myself well over 10 grand with only $400 invested in my equipment.
  16. CBS, abc-both wday and wdaz, cw, wdaz and y weather channel, fox, NBC, me tv, 4 different prairie public channels-one local nd, one world, one minnesota(good for beavers games), and another national one, and a religious channel. If you have the db4e mounted at least 2 stories up, if it's pointed right, I don't see why you couldn't get all the same channels as long as there isn't too many tall buildings near your home. Try hooking up a set of rabbit ears directly to your hd tv. With an antenna mounted up higher you will be able to get more....specifically fox and wdaz since these are the two that are VHF and tougher to get....an antenna up high will help you get these. I wouldn't count on picking up anything more though it may be possible if you can mount your antenna even higher. http://antennaweb.org Check this site out and key in 58201. You'll get an idea of where each tower is at. I'm able to pick up all the close ones with my antenna sitting on a horizontal rafter in my third story attic. Might be thirty feet up.
  17. I also liked mi mexico's food but that building is plagued for failure. Now Casa Mexico in egf....I'll never go back there. Not only lousy service the one time I went there but the waitress also lost someone's credit card.
  18. Appears Fenton is meeting with CBS today. Hope he can move the chains in the right direction for the sake of tv viewership/availability.
  19. At least mcdonalds food has some flavor to it. Grizzlys? Eh poncho and leftys was worse. And Golden Corral....mre's have more flavor to them than corral's food did!
  20. It was there on 32nd too. But also on 42nd first.
  21. What a great story to overshadow their mediocre play when it counts. So they have a couple big names on their team. But those guys haven't been performing when it matters; let's go kings!
  22. Is it a big ugly dish(c band) or a smaller one less that 3 foot diameter(ku band)? I just have a small dish but with a big dish you can get a ton of the Alaska games on a western satellite. There's still a few of us fta'ers on here that could probably help walk you through it to get some college hockey on it. Plus a ton of college basketball/football. He'd probably need a new receiver though to pick up the hd stuff.
  23. I don't think he's been shaving haha. I thought he took an un-called high stick to the face.
  24. None of midco's broadcasts were. But there was plenty of away games and national games available with Fta. And maybe 3-4 other college hockey games each weekend.
  25. So it's not ok for him to come here and have a discussion on topic? Oh that's right you are a goof fan and they rule the college hockey world.
