Holy crap. That's a sick success rate for regionals.

Every team at this level has talented forwards, but if a stupid "physicality" penalty puts Kerdiles and Zengerle out there together on a PP, the Sioux are begging for trouble. A big clean hit is fine, even when it gets called, but the late "finishing" checks and the chippy little cross checks do nothing to intimidate and only lead to trouble. Yet some guys are just prone to that stuff.

I'll take UW over Union in a heartbeat, but who cares, we're in. Maybe a nothing-to-lose gift like this is the best possible way this team could get to the dance. Virg Foss once said he thought Gino would have the best chance at winning with a team expected to win, while Blais would be his choice with an underdog. Blais was intense in his way, obviously, but he had a kind of "what the hell" quality that helps players loosen their grip, IMO. Maybe these Flowers From Bucky will loosen our boys up a bit. Bring on whomever whereever.

Funny that the Badgers save the Sioux from going overboard and might be the first to try to throw us back.

We thought we lose a game and we're out, then we learned that maybe we're still in even though we lost last night. Nobody pulled a rug out from us fans or the team.

Ten years from now: "Remember when we won number 8 in 2014 when we had to cheer for the Badgers to win a game just so we could get in the tourney? God that sucked, but it sure paid off."

Having to root for the Badgers is perfect punishment for us being in this position in the first place. Only thing worse would be having to root for . . . you know.
