The USG has not catered to the Islamists in Nigeria... The USG designated Boko Haram a terrorist organization in November 2013, which allowed the USG several new opportunities to assist the region fight the group; mainly financial tools, but some other direct action ones as well. BH wouldn't exist without its catalyst--corrupt government. Our (USG) main concern with Nigeria is its human rights actions, or lack thereof. The Leahy Vetting requirements has made it very difficult to coordinate/collaborate with some Nigerian goverenment organizations. As for using drones in northern Nigeria....let's just say it isn't Yemen, Iraq, Somalia, or Afghanistan.... You have find and fix before finishing.
