  1. Maybe it's time to add an off day in the regionals. Would ease the congestion and perhaps help tv coverage. Also a safety issue with OT games. Imagine if the 5OT game had only been a semi.
  2. The 01 loss to BC that prevented our first ever repeat is my most painful. Made the trip to Albany and after the incredible third period comeback thought we had all the momentum and no way we would lose in OT. Wasn't meant to be. 05 loss to Denver was right there too.
  3. Looks like the WCHA lives on for at least 11 more days. UMass intruding on the Northern Sun Frozen Four.
  4. No. Just need to play non conference games. No need to add extra mouths to feed. 8 teams is prefect.
  5. They also come in with a little unfinished business as well remembering their last meeting.
  6. Let's put the blame squarely where it belongs, Michigan. Seriously, tough loss but so are all of them that end promising seasons. Just glad to always be in the mix. Easy to take that for granted.
  7. Fun fact: All 5 tourney games tomorrow will include a team for Minnesota. I predict MnSCU goes 3-0, U system 0-2.
  8. Love it, but be sure to save a couple for tomorrow night.
  9. Where's the on ice graphic for Weatherby
  10. Must have had real tight protocols at the Big Ten tournament. What a joke! Glad the NCHC is a top notch forward-thinking organization.
  11. https://www.grandforksherald.com/business/energy-and-mining/6954045-Potential-new-owner-in-talks-to-save-North-Dakotas-largest-coal-fired-plant So anyone have any guesses on who might be buying Coal Creek? Would think there might be some potential for the EERC to collaborate in this sphere and put North Dakota at the forefront. If they really can develop some meaningful Carbon sequestration technologies, that could be a game changer in the climate battle. Would be a huge market in India and China, where coal power plants generate a considerable amount of power.
  12. Actually, Oregon destroyed Iowa, so it didn't hurt. Will be interesting if BC comes out a little rusty, it will be almost 2 weeks they will have been off.
  13. I think this year and the across the board actions of the Ivy League could be enough to lead to a break up of the ECAC. It's possible that they just split 6 and 6, but I think the remaining ECAC schools might seek to pick up some extra teams, either from the top of Atlantic Hockey or maybe a smaller Hockey East school like Merrimack that has struggled to be competitive. Hockey East has had a lot of parity in recent years, so not sure if their is any kind of acrimony like there was in the dying days of the classic WCHA that led to creation of NCHC.
  14. I could see an eastern realignment again creating 3 leagues out of existing ecac and hockey east. Ivy league, hockey blue bloods, and leftovers.
  15. I bet they try to get 14 then split with interlocking schedules but 2 autobids.
  16. Trust me, it won't. Do you remember the Redskins Super Bowl wins any less because they came in strike seasons. Or the Dodgers 1981 World Series win. Same with Stanley Cup or NBA Champs in lockout shortened seasons. Once the banner goes up and the rings are fitted, its a title.
  17. It's not quite that cut and dried. The rule says there is no PI If the kick trues to simulate a kick by throwing high and deep. A swing pass or short sideline throw would not seem to apply. High and deep is certainly open to interpretation but it's not a blanket waiving of PI on a fake.
  18. Agree. AIC and Notre Dame should be switched. Not sure how the Iriah even got in. Having ASU as the Washington Generals sure helped the Big 10 this year.
  19. Will learn a lot about the team and coaching staff next Saturday. If they shake yesterday off can still make a lot of noise, definitely a character week.
  20. UND, mankato, duluth and bemidji is a very real possibility.
  21. QU still could be. Unless there are standby teams like there were for BBall.
  22. Because ncaa can pay for a bus ride rather than a flight. Money talks.
  23. They should be playing the tournament at one site this year.
