Anticipated strong walk ups mixed with early success could make it a good start for football attendance after the bleak transition years.

Per Tom Miller's latest Tweets: And that's with still about two weeks to go.

Checking out Dustin Hobaugh's Twitter.... it appears he's currently enroute to Grand Forks. Don't know whether he'll be playing this year or not but it appears he'll be enrolled in the aviation program. Dustin Hobaugh @dustinhobaugh Native of Texas playing bball and studying commercial aviation at Univ of North Dakota! #Secede

I can see that. Another off topic, when I am watching practices, Coach K gives me flashbacks to my days in Army Basic Training. The guy can flawlessly lace together 10 four-letter words in a 12-word sentence. And the stuff he says is both hilarious and terrifying to the poor player on the receiving end. I wonder if he was a drill sergeant in another life?

Oliver looks really good, with huge upside. Fletcher has been quiet, aside from a couple of nice catches where he bailed out the QBs. Their size alone makes them stand out vs. many of the upperclassmen on the squad. I think spring ball '13 will be a real coming out party for both.

He's wiry thin, a hair under top FBS receiver standards in the 40, and grades should never be ruled out in these kinds of situations ( However, UND might be a perfect fit for someone who might have gotten lost in the academic black hole of a bigger FBS school). But who knows? Just count our blessings we'll get a chance to see him shine on Saturday someday.

Yeah, you don't want those spies from Robert Morris to get an edge.

Interesting approach down south. Has UND ever closed a scrimmage to the public? Dom Izzo @DomIzzoWDAY #NDSU football scrimmage on Saturday will be CLOSED to media, family and public

When I wrote "aim higher," I meant look her in the eye; we shouldn't be ogling her like a piece of meat.
-
I'd listen to Ira on this one, folks... me thinks he knows of what he speaks on this one (and most everything else). #goodintel.

Me likey.... but we should aim higher, doncha think?

No, they're not. See? That is how opinion works.

Marnie Gellner. She got a promotion.

I'm lost. All the pictures I've seen have no logo in the middle right now. The last update I saw was yesterday morning, and at that time, there was no logo -- Alerus or otherwise at midfield. Did I miss it where it was said somewhere that the "Alerus" logo was for sure what is intended to be put at mid field? Help bring me up to speed on this bubbling controversy.

6-6, 275... made several visits to FBS programs. Just keep him out of any Wisco all-star games and we're golden.

Internet polls aren't a good gauge of popularity, so I have been told.

Hmmmmm? Does this add anything to the discussion? http://www.esquire.com/features/food-drink/late-night-0912/best-late-night-food?src=soc_fcbks#slide-1

It was a joke, Einstein, hence the wink.

Sorry, Vandals would have killed the Goofs last year for their first home game at the Kibby shed.

What happened to Kaci Miller? She was listed as a junior last year. I thought, at 6'3" tall, she might get a real shot to contribute this year.

Jer Garman has been taking reps with Jake Miller, Sutton, P.J. Sparks, etc., but his carries are mostly 2-3 yards and a cloud of dust. He has a difficult time breaking through the middle or getting around the ends. Where he's been most effective in practice has been, as was said, in a slot receiver role. He's also been putting in a ton of time on special teams as a punt return guy, if I recall correctly. I said a few days ago that he looks like he bulked up a bit compared with last year, and he has not lost any speed.

I think mg has explained before that he/she is more of a "double agent" (my words) than a troll. mg, I think, went to both UND and NDSU and is from Fargo. Thus, he/she tends to have bit more of an allegiance to Scream Yellow having grown up in that environment. I do agree his/her assessments do tend to be a little glass half empty for UND and half full for SU, or, in other words, mg tends to be more pragmatic when it comes to comments on UND and more optimistic when it comes to NDSU. But that could be a product of one team just coming out of transition with a lot to prove and the other coming off a NC season in their most important sport.

There was an R.J. McGill sighting this morning, in full pads, on the practice turf running drills. Casey Young was absent, though, presumably with some sort of injury.
