  1. And Ryan Bartles... for some reason he's my sleeper for the future. Gotta hunch, that's it. Him and Mollberg should have some classic battles for starts. We shall see.
  2. PCM again with another doozy!
  3. The opening of Metallica's "For whom the bell Tolls" always gets me ready for some old time UND hockey!
  4. It's actually not that bad.... lots of good stuff from UND athletes having fun. Take it for what it's meant to be, I guess. Just plain fun.
  5. Nice report! Thanks. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but, did they sneak in some free throw practice while they were at it.
  6. All I can say is: get him on campus quick! Wow! I am excited for this year to start. (understatement of the year)
  7. Don't know about now.... but I saw Webb, Huff, Antwi and another one (can't remember) hanging out together at Wilkerson Hall in early June. Might have been involved in the youth bb camps at the time.
  8. It happens a lot in academia. You may remember the School of Communication at UND went the other way a few years back; it's now the Communication Department -- and deservedly so. But, in the case of engineering at UND, the change was brought on by the rapid growth of the specific department and the school as a whole when it came to enrollment, academic offerings and new administrative units. Really, the new names are a better and truer reflection of what the divisions really are now compared to the past. Times change; you can never go home again. Deal with it.
  9. Should be a hot and muggy Fourth! Enjoy the parade but drink plenty of water. Ho hum.
  10. Read it and weep, gang. Port clocks out on Fighting Sioux issue. http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/so-long-fighting-sioux/
  11. Yes, WE know that, but that's not what the "nickname at all costers" were saying. By the way, where are they?
  12. And those players wouldn't have it any other way. Just ask them.
  13. This report out of Phillidelphia looks at FBS-to-FCS transfers and mentions Braden Hanson. http://www.13wmaz.com/sports/ncaafootball/article/184378/227/In-the-FCS-Huddle-FBS-to-FCS-transfers-to-watch

    Douple

What a gong show! There's a lot of revisionist history taking place over on that blog, reference the thread you point out.
  15. Nice work!!! That is a hell of a schedule so far -- wow! Can't wait to see the Ladies in action this fall!
  16. It goes both ways. (Admittedly, this is the most childish thing I have written in a long time) But, it's safe to say, you started it and brought it all on yourself with your bashing of most of us who love the nickname, are huge fans of the University, but realize when it's time to move on.
  17. Mods: I hope this doesn't fall under the category of name-calling, but this poster (scpa0305) is a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. You can tell when they're on their meds and when they're off, based on the tone, attitude and posture of their posts. Like I said before, very schizophrenic.
  18. You are kind of scizophrenic on this issue, aren't you? One minute, you post something that seems somewhat mild mannered and conciliatory -- as if you are trying to get a grip on a very complex issue, but just don't understand why we have to back down and change the nickname. You come off as unhappy about the injustice of it all but ulitmately resigned to the realities we're facing -- and then the next minute, you post something where you go off the deep end, making wild claims of what is motivating UND coaches and making statements like the "NCAA was on the ropes" and how they "will be forced to pull the sanctions." News flash: The NCAA was never on the ropes. Hell, they were never in the ring. They do own the venue where the fight is taking place, however, and they did set the fight rules, and now they are sitting back and watching us battle it out amongst ourselves. UND is the bantamweight on the first undercard and the NCAA is the heavyweight champion of the world in your scenario.
  19. Hey, Einstein, do you know the difference between a news story and an editorial? Hint: one is an opinion usually based on careful weighing of facts. The other is an objective take on something of interest and usually includes opinions from sources from boths sides of an issue. Now, from that, can you figure out which is which?
  20. I don't think the profession could handle the likes of PCM; it could only hope to contain him!
  21. Great feature story just posted on the UND homepage about our three alumni playing for Lord Stanley's Cup. Even though it is not credited to him, I have it on good authority that it was written by our very own (but seldom seen) Pseudo Reporter -- PCM. http://und.edu/features/2012/06/stanley-cup.cfm Because it's the Cup!
  22. Would have been nice if you and more like you would have been around 6 years ago when the rest of us, who you so ignorantly dismiss and berate, were fighting the good hard fight in honor of the nickname and logo. Now you show up quite late to the battle only to criticize and mock those who've been in the arena carrying your water and fighting tooth and nail against the PC zealots for years. Many of us were doing this long before the NCAA's misguided policy was even a budding seed of an idea in Bernard Franklin's mind -- and not just on message boards. So, welcome, son; glad you could finally join us. Now please check your ill-informed blanket accusations at the door and maybe try to educate yourself on the very real gradual negative impacts that continuation of the nickname and logo will have on our beloved University. When you live at ground zero of the fight, like many of us who you so casually scoff at, the realities are a bit more stark than they might seem from thousands of miles away on your deck chair on Vero Beach.
  23. I don't know. I think things could have been vastly different if SL would have made as much noise back then as the Committee from SL is making today. A lot of this could have been averted. Not that I solely blame SL for this. But they sure weren't helpful back in 2005 and 2006. The tribal chairwoman at the time, Pearson, couldn't find enough Northern Plains American Indian councils to sidle up next to and to vote in the affirmative with to rid the world of all American Indian nicknames, and then she would come back home to SL and hide from anyone seeking an official opinion on the matter, and if she was ever cornered, she resorted to the old apathetic line that the tribe had more important matters to worry about. Where was the Committee for Respect back then??!! -- when it mattered and would have made a difference.
