  1. That's a valid opinion. What would you propose would be a good nickname for UND?
  2. I've always liked Rough Riders (Roughriders, or however it would be written.) IrishSiouxFan isn't out of line on this one. Much too much is made out of the Red River High School vs. Central thing, or even just the fact that UND would have the same nickname as a high school in the same community. It's an idea worth considering as much as any other. No one's opinion's should be outright discounted, but then again no one constituency (Central grads) should have more input into the process over another. Roughriders is very unique outside of Grand Forks, and I think two schools in the same community that share much the same cultural and state historical backgrounds could celebrate having the same nickname with little or no problem.
  3. UND makes a respectable come back in the third set after going down 0-7 to lead off the game, eventually losing 25-16. Hope they learned something this weekend. Still, good job, ladies!
  4. The wheels may have just come off. 7-0 run to start the third set by A&M. T.O. UND.
  5. Texas A&M lost 3 sets to 1 against USC. UND was very competitive in first set against A&M. Just lacking a bit of height on the front line.
  6. UND completes its worst set of the young season. No system, no discipline, running all over the court. Loses 25-14. One more lost set and they're done. But like I said 1-2 this weekend against this tough competition is nothing to sneeze at.
  7. UND video stream doesn't work for me... I am able to watch it via Aggie TV's 12th Man Network from the Texas A&M site. UND drops first set 25-21.
  8. If anyone is broadcasting it over the radio, it is not being promoted, so I would assume only live stat updates and video stream are the options for this one.
  9. I don't know about radio, but it will be video streamed via http://www.undsports.com/liveEvents/liveEvents.dbml?SPID=6387&db_oem_id=13500 I will check for radio opportunities as well.
  10. Agreed! The Texas State radio guy is clearly impressed with UND's showing earlier today against USC, as well.
  11. UND took fourth set 25-18! The ladies rolled three straight to take the match. Next up host Texas A&M tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
  12. UND ladies beat Texas State 3 sets to 1 for first victory of the year!
  13. I will be thrilled if we can come out of this weekend 1-2. I will be absolutely through-the-roof ecstatic if we can make it 2-1. After seeing how they played this morning against #5 in the nation, UND should be able to notch a win against these solid teams. Just don't get complacent!
  14. Just wasn't in the cards against one of the toughest teams in the nation. UND drops final set 25-21. So sets went 25-20, 25-23, 25-21 for USC. A first year Division I tournament eligible team takes an established VB powerhouse and drops 20+ on them in each set in their first match of the year. It's probably all down hill from here for UND until tourney time, if that's in the cards. Way to make us proud, ladies!
  15. UND proves first set was not an anomoly as it pushes #5 USC to the brink of set 2, before losing 25-23. Wow what a showing by our ladies! Go UND!!!
  16. UND played #5 USC tough in the first set, losing 25-20. USC was in the '11 VB Final Four.
  17. You're not the problem. It's the rest of the community. They'll support a winner, I guess. So the boys gotta get out there and produce and the people will come. Totally agree on the bandwagoners -- and the students.
  18. That's another way to look at it, I guess. A glass half-empty way, per usual. Buck up and smile a little; life ain't so bad all the time.
  19. Fargo already has a medical school; it's called the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences Southeast Campus.
  20. or didn't care. I fear a lot of apathy still exists for FB after the transition years.
  21. mostly a lot of Social Media advertising ... Twitter, Facebook, UND Web sites. Coach Boyd was on the Big Dogz on KJ 108 on Wednesday morning. I am sure other coaches did the radio circuit too.
  22. So we're saying that both schools are counting students correctly within SBHE standards and both schools' numbers reflect legitimate students enrolled at each school. What the heck are we are arguing about then?
  23. Insider data shows: Engineering College and Aerospace were the two divisions that grew the most between last year and this year. The Engineering College grew by a whopping 25 percent from 1,227 students to 1,532 students (based on first-day data). Aerospace grew by 13 percent, from 1,295 to 1,462. This means that for the first time, that I can recall, The Engineering College has outdrawn Aerospace in enrollment. The Grad School grew by 6 percent percent, from 2,458 to 2,604 students. Another big gainer was BPA, which grew from 1,656 to 1,721, or 4 percent. The College of Arts and Sciences increased from 3,041 to 3,127, or nearly 3 percent. Medical school (professional) gained 7 students, but the law school declined by 12, with 259 and 240 students, respectively. As far as classes go... the freshman class was 291 students more than the first day fall numbers in 2011 at 3,013. The sophomore class dropped by 9 students to 2,764. The junior class grew by 107 students to 107 to 2,180. The senior class grew by 194 students to 3,642 Beginning freshman numbers grew by 272, or 13 percent to 2,376. Transfer student numbers grew by 62 or 7.4 percent to 903. These are just some highlights.
  24. For fun, I'll take that bet! With all respect, I just don't think we need it pulled with our depth at WR. I will give you full props if he gets it pulled though!
  25. Hmmm? I missed that fumble... got there later than I would have liked. Darn kids!
