  1. I think Hanson is 6 for 6 w/ 2 TD's
  2. The student section is huge --never seen it bigger -- and they are rocking. When they bang their chairs, the place sounds like a thunder storm rolling through. They already forced one timeout.
  3. The service to state and country is an honor; being a UND fan is a privilege!
  4. Just a heads up, if there are any National Guard Soldiers or Airmen, Naval Reservists, Air Force personnel, ect. You can get up to 5 free tickets tonight for the UND football game. Just show up at 5 p.m. in the Alerus Center ballroom. That is where they will be doled out. Go UND!
  5. About 1,000 of those 3,000 might be reserved for Military Appreciation Night (they are issuing up to 1,000 free tickets to Military personnel (Guard, Air Force, Naval Reserve, etc.). I was going to buy 6 tix for tonight, and lo and behold, when I walked up to the box office, the guy told me that I could get up to 5 free tix because of my military affiliation. #bestdayever!
  6. Who are you referring to as "North Dakota"? All the people I talk to are embarrassed by that ranking. No one I know embraces it. What are you basing your statement on? Because if it's word of mouth or what you've heard or read (like me) then I guess our experiences cancel each other out.
  7. You can't have nickname like that, silly! Cavalier (ND) High School already uses it. (;
  8. We should cut UND some slack on that one. I think enough history has passed and raw feelings have subsided enuff that it can be said that I recall that there was supposed to be a much bigger component to that spirit campaign announcement than what was actually announced, but the negotiations fell through late in the game. It left officials scrambling a bit to make the event exciting without the anchor "gift." I don't know any details on what fell through, and maybe, just maybe, it's what was announced today, but i am sure there was supposed to be a little more "oomph" to that spirit announcement a few years back.
  9. Back in Black? Hmmmmmm?
  10. Back in Black? Hmmmmmm?
  11. They should try to get PJ Sparks' sis to sing the National Anthem for a game sometime -- maybe save it for a big game like Montana or for a time when we have both football and hockey in town; Jordin could sing at both games! Wonder if she'd ever consider doing it?
  12. Holy Debby Downer! The turf has the wrong logos, the jerseys are ugly and too damn tight, the TV contract, though lucrative, forces many fans to watch UND games online (and thus somehow makes our team seem Bush League), the off the field entertainment is lame, Hammer is god awful, the sideline reporter is a homer ... blah, blah, blah, blah ... Sheesh, I can't wait for football to actually start so we can shelve all these first-world problems we seem to have around here and gripe about X's and O's.
  13. You are right. Greg is still there and is pretty much exclusively high school sports (except hockey -- he hates hockey!), though again, it's all hands on deck come Feb and March tourney time, meaning he has a lot of helpers.
  14. The Herald has more reporters covering UND sports than the Forum (with 3x the circulation and a metro that is more than twice that of GF-EGF). They are Wayne Nelson (football, basketball, misc. others), Tom Miller (football, basketball, volleyball, misc. others) and Schloss (men's and women's hockey, football, when needed, misc. others). Forum has Kolpack (football, basketball, misc. others), Kevin Schnepf (football, basketball, misc. others) -- oh, and Izzo chimes in from the TV station with Social media tweets and video blogs. Comparatively speaking, the Herald does quite well with the limited resources it has given the diverse and rabid sports passions within its readership area.
  15. Patience, young grasshopper.
  16. How do we know that something by the Herald is not in the works right now? And confirmation won't come from a Mussmany YouTube quote. The Herald won't go with something like this without someone going on the record -- leave that to SAB.
  17. I don't think UND will lose by THAT much. EDIT: Sorry, couldn't waste the smart alecky response, based on your glass-half empty history toward UND athletics and the fact that the home team traditionally is the latter number on the scoring line, hence "6" would be attributed to UND ( I know, others on here listed it the same way, but in most cases, they assigned the team name to the corresponding score.) Rock on!
