  1. In addition, players from around here are more likely to stay around here and most likely be less prone to want to enter the transfer portal than players that are homesick or looking to move on to bigger and better schools. Some people from other places in the country may come to like our community, but if you weren't born here, it can take some getting used to.
  2. Has anyone determined which end UND shoots twice at for sure. I talked to the Ralph ticket office and the lady told me the end of section 118, but it says in the email that is the UND section, and they often put that on the end where the home team goalie is. Any information would be appreciated.
  3. Yes, but Sanderson wasn't before that.
  4. That is correct. If he would have specified with forward, I believe he would have been correct, as I believe the rest were all defensemen, including John Marks who was drafted #9 in a different era.
  5. Do we know if this is the case, or if the home team for any given game shoots at the end opposite of the Zamboni?
  6. You were the one so confident in Omaha stating that this is a different Omaha team when people were picking Western. The fact that there are players on Omaha that weren’t alive the last time Omaha made the semifinals suggests your confidence was misplaced.
  7. Maybe there is something to the blonde hair, first Red River, and now Andover.
  8. Not a big fan of the sit back and lock it down philosophy. Also not a fan of passively giving the other team the zone and then remaining passive. That has hurt us several times already, and I could envision a circumstance like that ending our season and left wondering why we didn’t remain aggressive with at least one guy on the forecheck. A win is a win, but for us to let a less talented team take it to us the last period, doesn’t bode as well with far more talented teams we are likely to meet from here on out.
  9. Yes, lucky as a fan base, but I would drill down even further to say we are lucky to have Jason Ulmer, as our proficiency in the face off circle isn’t by accident.
  10. Don’t think the President of the University will change his mind.
  11. People should go back and look at all the threads from past state high school tournaments saying who the coaches should have got and many of the names should be on milk cartons. I remember way back people were hand wringing over losing guys like Jon Ammerman to St. Cloud and Jay Hardwick to Duluth. Look at their college stats. Remember the cry for Donte Lawson and Garrett Worth? Remember the days when all the Finalists for Minnesota Mr. Hockey were already committed? With all of the teams in Minnesota and everyone else who recruits Minnesota, you would think there wouldn't be any that hadn't verballed, especially when some colleges have to get to them early if they want any chance at them. Unless it is an absolute no brainer, I am fine waiting to see some of these guys play junior hockey.
  12. I would say stoneySioux's post would suggest that, and probably Sanderson would be in that "cryptic-ness"
  13. I heard that a player besides Bruns was going to enter the portal that they were very high on, could this be the guy?
  14. Add in the circumstances of the season with UND losing their best player for half the games for various reasons, then not being able to field a full roster missing All-conference players, and that adds to Berry's resume. The fact that they held it together after they were swept by Cornell and Western is another plus on their side of the ledger. Fans were confident we wouldn't even make the tournament and then to run into the injuries and still come out the other side with a conference title no less, is impressive. Don't know if Western ever seemed in jeopardy of not making the tournament. Yes, Western lost Washe, but I would argue the fact he was on the team when I'm sure the allegations were well known should detract from Western Michigan.
  15. With our luck, it will push him to NDSU.
  16. Oshie with 2 goals and an assist in an OT loss to Edmonton, scoring in the last second to tie it. Brad Malone with a goal and an assist for Edmonton, his first NHL goal since December 3, 2015. That’s perseverance.
  17. or Cam Johnson via Neal Pionk.
  18. Make that 2 goals, 2 assists after 2 periods.
  19. Nick Schmaltz already with 3 more points tonight in the second period.
  20. What happened to all the money from the GOBC?
  21. Surveillance and blackmail! Seriously, I don't know what you can do, other than do exiting interviews and try find out exactly why each person is leaving. Some may not like the coach, and not sure they would say that, but for a lot it might just be winning. If you can somehow turn it around and not be bottom of the barrel, they probably have a better chance to retain some players. Could be a combo of losing and the horrible winter we have had. Heck, it depresses me to no end that there seems no end in sight to winter, and if you grew up elsewhere that combo could be really depressing.
  22. If you're not going to see time in the big show, might as well stay in the best environment and keep working towards your degree. Everyone says UND is like a professional environment, so make use of the facilities, get in more practice time rather than constantly riding a bus, and enjoy being young and in college where you are kind of a big thing on campus, which doesn't hurt with the opposite sex.
  23. Yeah, because a kid that will jump ship in a hurry when things aren't going their way, won't lie to a coach and tell him what they want to hear to get a scholarship when everyone else isn't offering!
  24. If somebody offers, it would most likely be just to get them in their system, which means they would still need to develop. Kleven might be one that Ottawa wants in their system, but with Sanderson going there, making the big club would be very difficult. Frisch, being a free agent is probably the most likely to leave should he get an attractive offer. Moore and Jandric still have a ways to go physically and just experience wise in a top role, but I've seen strange decisions before.
