The way they made it sound, he was coming back for one more year (this year). He certainly has the eligibility to play one more year, but the odds probably aren't that good.
-
So what are the chances that Panzer takes his dad’s number after Gaber is gone next year?

Icebreaker @ REA - UND vs. Army, Bucky; BSU vs. Bucky, Army

Agreed, I know it is one of my pet peeves when too much is made of a single game or series, either positively or negatively. Manitoba has never been a good benchmark, and I suspect their level is down a bit this year, so it is hard to draw any firm conclusions. I suspect not many Manitoba players would be on NCAA rosters if they were eligible. -
I would say that has been our biggest problem, winning on the road. You need to be a disciplined and mentally tough team to win on the road consistently, and we haven't been able to do that. Our home record is great, we need to take the next step and be consistent on the road.

Don’t forget grabbing the face mask on that same play that was missed.
-
Well, he did win the toss today and took the ball, so maybe there is hope.
-
Let’s save some of these pinpoint snipes for Wisconsin and Minnesota.
-
Is kneeling on the ball and running out the clock not a thing anymore?
-
Technically, not splits, but his leg slipped out and he tweaked something.
-
That was during the play, after the play he started to celebrate and did the splits and tweaked his leg.
-
Except, if Red can get hurt celebrating, he can get hurt anywhere. Seriously, I agree, keeping your starters in and running up the score doesn’t make up for previous losses, so have your guys healthy for the next game that can show if you’ve made any progress.

His best attribute is his speed, so maybe that isn't best utilized on the power play once you have it in the zone. I think they want some net presence. I believe he will be a key cog in the penalty kill, where his speed will be invaluable. It is also something that can give him a chance at finding a nice role at the next level. That said, I wouldn't doubt he gets a chance on the second PP unit, especially if there is inconsistency. Sounds like Johannes was possibly just filling in for Kunz on that second power play unit after Kunz got hurt in the scrimmage.
-
Kunz played early in the scrimmage, but didn’t see him later. Wonder if he was dinged.
-
Think we may see more of Hunter Johannes than I thought. Saw time killing penalties, and on a power play with Jamernik, McLaughlin, Perron and Livanavage. Think Pyke will be on first unit. Nobody looked out of place, or timid. Benoit and Komzak held their own too. Was scary when Jamernik went off the ice and down the tunnel limping, but thankfully he came back. Don’t envy the coaches having to tell guys they aren’t in the lineup.
-
I would let the car owners have at him!

I agree with Paul McGinley, that if the Americans had shown the passion they showed today from the first session, they wouldn’t need a big comeback. Just too much to ask, as 1/2 points are bound to happen, and then having to win all the big matchups against Rahm, Rory, and Hovland is asking a lot. If Spieth, Brooks and Scheffler would have won only 1 more point, it wouldn’t be as big of a task.
-
2 of the 3, big game opportunities have been big disappointments. One left against NDSU, and it will be even a bigger disappointment if they fail in that one, with South Dakota beating them in the Dome.
-
I love how Europeans always whine about perceived disrespect, yet some of the treatment the U.S. players receive is no different over there, than what they get here. That may change in New York next time. Rory thinks it’s o.k. to do the hand to the ear at Hazeltine, but can’t handle a hat waving.
-
Suppose it is no less embarrassing than having someone complain about missed calls in a game where we are totally outclassed.
-
Does anyone really want to hear them interview Bubba after the game, when he is just going to spout the same nonsense.
-
SDSU and NDSU will move up a level, then maybe we will be able to win. But our administration doesn’t understand that at that point our fanbase won’t care. If you don’t make meaningful moves to get better, you will be left behind, just like what happened the last time. Remember, we were better than both SU’s when they departed for D1.
-
and on 3rd and 3, no less. You really have no confidence in your guys when you’re doing that.
-
Really Kauppinen, one break up, and you think you’re good? Embarrassing!
-
The problem is that when your starters don’t even appear to be good depth guys you are in trouble regardless. But hey, let’s defer to the second half because we can count on our defense to get us off to a good start. That is just plain ignorance, or delusional.
-
But we will score on their backups to make it seem like it wasn’t quite that bad.
