So if he uses up all his eligibility, he would be 26. After all the gnashing of teeth regarding age after getting ousted by Mankato the previous two years, that is quite ironic.

If they want to make room for Hensler next year, I would think they would need another one and done portal. If Strathmann doesn’t come this year and if the plan is for Jubenvill to come next year as well, they would need room for three. Need to make room for him, so Staudacher might not be a fit.

Is there an offensive upside he can tap into going forward from his freshman year, or is he going to be a defensive defenseman that can outlet the puck?

Yeah, the last guy we got in the transfer portal that was on the WCHA all rookie team worked out pretty well in Chris Jandric. Hopefully Zmolek, who was on the CCHA all rookie team makes the same progression as Jandric.

Haven’t heard anything on Cooley. You would think if he was going to sign and play this year yet he would have signed already.

I don’t think he understands the essence of rivalry. I’m sure Ohio State cheers for Michigan in football as well as Auburn and Alabama, and I’m certain North Carolina cheered for Duke in basketball this year.

It surprises me that more players don’t go against the grain and take the puck back where the pass is coming from. VanDevelde was great at that and had an empty net to deposit the puck. Wish more guys would do that than one time the puck the direction the goalie is headed.

You never know, but it will be interesting to see if guys like Brodzinski and Nelson are asked to come back, especially if they lose both Nies and Cooley. If Arizona gets Bedard, does Cooley leave to play with him?
