Think we may see more of Hunter Johannes than I thought. Saw time killing penalties, and on a power play with Jamernik, McLaughlin, Perron and Livanavage. Think Pyke will be on first unit. Nobody looked out of place, or timid. Benoit and Komzak held their own too. Was scary when Jamernik went off the ice and down the tunnel limping, but thankfully he came back. Don’t envy the coaches having to tell guys they aren’t in the lineup.

I would let the car owners have at him!

I agree with Paul McGinley, that if the Americans had shown the passion they showed today from the first session, they wouldn’t need a big comeback. Just too much to ask, as 1/2 points are bound to happen, and then having to win all the big matchups against Rahm, Rory, and Hovland is asking a lot. If Spieth, Brooks and Scheffler would have won only 1 more point, it wouldn’t be as big of a task.

2 of the 3, big game opportunities have been big disappointments. One left against NDSU, and it will be even a bigger disappointment if they fail in that one, with South Dakota beating them in the Dome.

I love how Europeans always whine about perceived disrespect, yet some of the treatment the U.S. players receive is no different over there, than what they get here. That may change in New York next time. Rory thinks it’s o.k. to do the hand to the ear at Hazeltine, but can’t handle a hat waving.
-
Suppose it is no less embarrassing than having someone complain about missed calls in a game where we are totally outclassed.
-
Does anyone really want to hear them interview Bubba after the game, when he is just going to spout the same nonsense.
-
SDSU and NDSU will move up a level, then maybe we will be able to win. But our administration doesn’t understand that at that point our fanbase won’t care. If you don’t make meaningful moves to get better, you will be left behind, just like what happened the last time. Remember, we were better than both SU’s when they departed for D1.

and on 3rd and 3, no less. You really have no confidence in your guys when you’re doing that.
-
Really Kauppinen, one break up, and you think you’re good? Embarrassing!
-
The problem is that when your starters don’t even appear to be good depth guys you are in trouble regardless. But hey, let’s defer to the second half because we can count on our defense to get us off to a good start. That is just plain ignorance, or delusional.
-
But we will score on their backups to make it seem like it wasn’t quite that bad.
-
Maybe we can see how far our field goal kicker can kick.
-
Only bad things can happen now. Take a knee.
-
But we do get the ball first in the second half, so Bubba gave us the chance to think positive.
-
3rd and 18 and as last year we give so much cushion, and give up the first down.
-
Not many teams have done much with stopping it, but SDSU had a plan, and executed quite well. That is why SDSU won a championship, as they were prepared on what we were going to do.
-
You know your play calling is bad, when they call it out that early. No threat, even if you are trying to set up your “trick” play.
-
UND still thinks they are in the D2 days when they had a dominant defense. They need to get ahead and hope they can hang on now.
-
Who won the coin toss?
-
He had a penalty last night, but not sure he played the previous game. Saw he was one of the early energy player of the game leaders, but that must have been based on the one game.

You can’t tell me that some of these players care as much about this as the Europeans do. Why take the weeks off after the FedEx Cup if you want to be in form for the Ryder Cup? Time to hurt their ego and make it North America or the America’s against Europe, even though you probably wouldn’t have automatic qualifiers from Canada or South America. Maybe they need some players that appreciate being in the competition, like Max Homa.
-
The U.S. captains could have mustered a few points if they would have played because they could hit the fairway every once in a while.
-
Embarrassing performance when they all spouted off how they needed to get off to a good start. Anyone notice how all the European’s were focused on cheering on their teammates on the last hole, while the Americans were sitting together but were on their cell phones.

It’s not like Ziemer, Whipple, Phillips, Grimes, Townsend and Hendrickson aren’t elite recruits, it’s just that they aren’t quite to the elite level of a Cooley or Eiserman, but few are. We haven’t got that elite of the elite recruit much either, and the one we did, Sanderson, we got before he was really recognized as elite.
