  1. So you won’t be competing with Alabama this year. Lol.
  2. They call attention to a possible pass interference on us when the game isn’t in doubt, but nothing on several non calls on the Bison throughout the game. Embarrassing!
  3. Is this a UND hockey thread. I mean the overreaction is so unbelievable. We probably weren’t as good as some were making us out to be, and not as bad as we have been today.
  4. Really, we need to be humbled but haven’t won anything, and the Bison have won everything for a decade and they don’t let up. This was an opportunity to turn the tide in recruiting and confidence, and UND doesn’t appear to have an answer. Hopefully we get another shot this year to do that.
  5. While it isn’t the half we wanted, I wouldn’t have any aversion to playing the Bison again. In fact, if we can get something on the opening drive in the second half, and get aggressive on defense, this thing isn’t over.
  6. The positive is that Bubba seems to have a more aggressive approach than he did in the past. Add Boltmann to the mix, and it adds another dimension for 4th down conversions.
  7. Was expecting a little more imagination in certain circumstances.
  8. Would have liked to see that replay again with a better angle. Big momentum stopper, which in retrospect is huge.
  9. I noticed it the first time, but the announcers don’t notice it after playing it 4 times.
  10. Hold of the jersey at the point of contact and the announcers don’t say anything.
  11. Let’s hope he doesn’t play lights out the rest of the tournament like he did after a less than stellar opening game in the World Juniors.
  12. Yeah, from what I gathered he had a connection to UND through one of Rick Wilson’s sons (not Landon), coaching him in Texas.
  13. When looking at defensive plus minus leaders in the USHL, I noticed that Brent Johnson was high among the leaders at +18, but it looks like none of the other defensemen on Sioux Falls have a positive plus minus. That doesn’t seem logical, but if the numbers are accurate could be a good indicator of why he is highly regarded.
  14. Maybe diminished expectations by others makes it easier to break through in the NCAA tourney. Just don’t do it in our region. Don’t know if they would give the Big Ten another #1 seed based on the loss to Northern or not.
  15. ... and one more in the top six that hasn't arrived yet, unless Luke Hughes has since chosen to go the Major Junior route. Managing a roster that will have that frequent turnaround has got to be tough, especially if many end up being one and dones. I imagine communication on what their plans are is crucial in knowing what your roster is going to look like, but we've seen sometime the NHL teams can change their minds rather quickly.
  16. Why, didn't he support Brewster too?
  17. Let's face it, whatever they pick someone will find offense to it. Bonanza farms on Native American lands, or Theodore Roosevelt tied to Rough Riders and made disparaging remarks about Native Americans. Maybe they should just name it "The Trophy" to point out how absurd things have gotten as far as sensitivity goes.
  18. Surprised we didn't hear the "that was the worst period I can remember" refrain.
  19. ...and as Tim Hennessey says quite often, "the other team is trying too". Sometimes I think our fans are way too simplistic, thinking if a team keeps pressure on us for any extended period of time it's because we weren't trying, or our effort was lacking. If we play well for 2 periods, we only played 40 minutes, not 60. So does that mean the other team only played 20 minutes of hockey?
  20. It might not bode well in that I bet they put St. Cloud in our regional, and they would definitely be a tough out should that game come about. Would love for them to be in Loveland with Minnesota.
  21. Will be looking to see if she can make the tough decisions by dumping the dead weight this offseason. Don’t want to hear, she would have recruited different, so now is her chance to remake the roster. We’ll see.
  22. The search would likely begin if he did some good things here and started to return the team to prominence. At that point it is easier to get someone to take over a productive program as opposed to one that is floundering to the point where people think that 2 wins deserves a look. Let's remember, Brewster probably would have been happy to stay here for a long time, so I don't think ambition should be looked at as a detriment.
  23. I agree, but in the year of Covid, they haven't been able to show that they are better than half the teams that they will be up against. If we are talking a normal year, I could see a team as strong as the NCHC getting 4 or 5 teams in. If the committee is looking at it as the top 16 teams in the country, Denver should be in the conversation.
