A lot of grabbing by AIC, yet we are the ones that are forced to burn more energy to get away from that style, then have to kill penalties to boot. Going forward in the NCAA tournament, if you aren’t featuring a higher seed for prime time TV, they should be playing the early game. They talk about protecting the #1 seed in bracketing, they should do the same in game scheduling.

Kudos to Siouxnatty8 for nailing this game. I suppose Bemidji did frustrate them with their tenacity, but as mentioned they were just the all around better team today.

I see Garrett Worth is in the transfer portal with one assist in eight games with Long Island University. I remember some were pretty high on UND taking a shot at him out of Duluth East, but doesn't appear to have been able to make the adjustment to another level. Just goes to show putting up major numbers in high school hockey doesn't always translate to the next level. Grant Slukynsky put up huge numbers at Warroad but has struggled in the USHL as well. I thought he would have put up good numbers. Coaches have a tough job weeding out which talent and skills will translate to the next level and which won't.

So it sounds like UND has nothing to offer. We seem to get players from all over in hockey and some of them stay even after they get great offers to play pro hockey. I don’t buy that location is the biggest problem.

Exactly. Guys see the chance to possibly play in the Big Dance and figure they can find an easier way to get there. It isn’t really a great situation for the smaller programs or ones that aren’t competitive. At some point it might hurt the overall fanbase for college basketball, and other sports as well. Help develop a player and lose him or her to a better program.

Bemidji definitely has a chance, especially if they can score first. Wisconsin had a bunch of guys out with Covid protocol and Holloway at World Junior camp when they played Arizona State.

Mankato was playing well going in plenty of times and flamed out, so maybe this is their year to do something when they aren’t predicted to move on.

Notre Dame is a similar team with how they play, and Wisconsin played well against them.

Dylan Holloway is a pretty big boy, with tons of skill.
