Remember the jokes FU fans made about UND being the outlier in the Big Sky? They may want to go back and look at a Mountain West conference map. Nothing speaks Mountain West like red river valley. It's only 800 miles from Fargo to Larimie, schools trying to save every penny they can would love that travel partnership.

You don't develop rivalries when you are on the losing end of most games. Sitting behind the visitors bench at the Alerus it is crazy how much more intense the games have gotten and other teams have become over the last two years. If we string together a couple more years similar to the last two, I almost guarantee by 2020 we will be circled on teams calendars and they will be happy to see us go for reasons other than the travel.

I agree with this post and it is very well said. We should not stop at changing conferences. Need to cut sports and truly fund programs at a "championship level" like Kennedy said. If we do this, it will make this move much better. If we only change conferences and change nothing else I don't get as excited about it.

You may want to check the expenses allocated towards each if it's listed. This was probably fine before the committee said each expense should be allocated towards the appropriate sport. The numbers likely wouldn't look so favorable.

I'd go check with one of your main local recruiting guru's on b'ville. Like a good agent, he has said this absolutely was true and Ott did not give NDSU consideration because of fact that UND was on him early and the relationship they have.

No but consistently seeing the same result season after season when playing these OoC games gives me enough confidence to make that statement.

#buttRPI The years NDSU and SDSU have been dominant in basketball in the Summit, we have beat them or competed very well with them. I have no doubt this year would be any different if we played anyone other than NDSU. I will put stock in that before looking at numbers that are based more on OOC schedules than win loss results.

And than the "Wings Up" campaign was started and the sports that will be looked at to be cut are the ones that have raised the most money (last i looked). Again, I will believe something gets cut when it happens.

I really liked baseball but financially I guess it made sense to cut it.

Until he proves he has the balls to cut sports I'll believe it when I see it. His other option is to cut funding to sports so he does have 2 options. He could just as easily say Bismarck forced that as well.
