Take away some cupcakes and they are averaging a little over 80 a game. They put up huge points vs Walla Walla, George Fox and New Hope Christian. Joe Lunardi agrees with me that we should win the Big Sky No excuses this is a down year for this league and UND needs to take advantage
-
If we played more disciplined I would say we win this game. Unfortunately at this point what we have shown the last two games is what we are. Wonder why Portland St has to rely on transfers and can't get kids from the basketball hotbed of California out of high school?
-
Get off to a good start. Would like to see discipline to start conference play but I think we are what we are at this point.

I'm doing my part by spraying a can of hairspray outside everyday to hurry global warming. Since you claim weather is such a factor in recruiting I have my fingers crossed. Those Ca, Tx and Fl kids would line up to get here than. <-- extreme purple

http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-basketball/4186350-how-quinton-hooker-became-one-unds-all-time-greats Great article on a great player and even better person. Like I said in the other thread, if there is one area Jones has done a very good job it's getting great kids to UND (weather and all). Keep up the great work Quinton.

Nope and moving to a warmer climate wouldn't either so it's about time you drop the weak excuse for Jones performance on his salary and location. I have gotten raises based on my job performance and accept that is how it works. I produce above average at my job and I get paid an above average salary. Same should apply to basketball coaches as well.

Well than again I'd point at the man who recruits the talent. It's the same person and a huge bump in pay wouldn't make him a better recruiter either Personally, recruiting talent isn't an area I feel he has struggled. He's done a very good job with that.

Nothing says success like a CIT bid. I asked you this the other day and you didn't answer, if we suddenly gave him $1 million bonus overnight, 2'woukd he be a better coach and his team be more disciplined? We have the talent to easily win the Big Sky this season. Not even close, it's a down year for a lot of teams but would you put money down right now on this team winning it?

And than this happens. http://dailysnark.com/western-kentucky-runs-awesome-fake-knee-play-end-half/

Your right. My bad. Had the day off so I just watched the game replay.
-
Yes, clearly a reason to take your team directly to the locker room. Its apparently against basketball etiquette so is forcing up a shot when your up double digits. One could say !@#$ if your doing it I will too.

After watching the highlight again, the shot clock was off when Iowa shot the ball at the end. I may be incorrect there but what you are saying is its ok to try and score up 10 but not ok to try and score down 10.

I don't defend Jones as a coach to this point but this is one that I cannot pin on him. I have no problem with our guys competing. A lot of times in that situation you will see the defensive team clear the ball out of traffic before holding onto it, not standing in the lane 5 feet under the hoop. In regards to the physical play during the game there was enough to go both ways. Hell, their coach even acknowledged it was the type of play they will see during Big Ten play so why do you suddenly have a problem with it. Now I do think UND needs to control it a little bit but if there is one thing we have been lacking the last few years it has been physical play and have gotten beat up by Weber and Montana. They all have been more physical than us down low and have had physical guards that have given us some fits.

lol. That being one of the main links has nothing to do with North Dakota. That Iowa coach knew what he was going to do even before the horn sounded with how fast he was out of there. He was the first one gone. Im glad I got to see a link because I thought Baldwin tackled a guy to take the ball.
-
Jones chose to coach this team and has not done enough in 10 years to warrant more than 100k per year. If we gave him 1 million dollars tonight would that suddenly make him a better coach?
-
So what did they do that was over the top?
-
Enough with you Bison fans complaining about UND in Fargo. I was at the game and they did nothing as over the top as Bison fans claim. It was more frustration with getting beat by 20.
-
I think it's dance or bust for Jones this year. I don't see Faison extending him for any less of a finish.
-
Not a lot of high school teams lining up and playing smash mouth football out west. There is a reason some Big Sky teams and FBS programs (Wyoming) make the investment trying to get some OL/DL out of MN and WI still.
-
Just needs to prove he can stay healthy and entire season.
-
To lose. I'll pick both home teams to lose.
-
They will be salty. Plus they will get their usual off season transfers
-
Their top 3 WR. They will return QB, entire oline and a good chunk of D. They will be solid next year but losing those 3 WR will hurt a lot
-
EWU pulling away from YSU. Have scored 17 unanswered. Lead 17-7
-
Are you sure? There is no way they could be working on an extension. <--- Not sure how to change to purple.
