UND isn't the one looking for a game. Schedule's full. Have fun filling yours.
-
Has Montana St. not suffered enough in the media? Isn't it time Gene calls for the FU fanbase to backoff? Gene seems more upset about this than Petiongate.
-
Good post. I'd be happy to get yearly games with any of FU, BU or UV.
-
My god. There is more than one poster on that site who posted that. That is laughable and embarrassing that someone would even post that.
-
Well by that logic they will get paid more and get a win. No brainer.
-
Getting started on the IPF is fantastic news. It will be a top facility in the region and once phase 2 is complete, it will be the top non game facility in region with one of the nicest indoor tracks in the country. Definately a game changer. Can't wait to bring recruits on campus this summer for camps and show them what is under construction.
-
So how much is SMU paying them? Beings you know what the net is... I haven't heard. You mind sharing?
-
Well, $100,000 buyout. They'll probably get paid a minimum of 4-5 times that for a trip to SMU. Even using FU math that seems like a pretty good business decision to me.
-
It sucks for FU but it is a smart business decision on the part of MSU. You blanketing the entire conference based at the actions of one are laughable. Have fun finding your 11th game.
-
I don't know if Gene should really be surprised with a $100,000 buyout. Its actually a smart business move on MSU's part to get out of a cheap buyout and get a game in an area they actively recruit. I would have like to see the matchup. Unlike our resident "huge" fan of both schools, I don't think it would have been a blowout but I don't think MSU would have got out of there with a win.
-
Don't bother wasting your time. The "WE" act he's been doing is the worst act on SS.com. Anyone fan who tries to argue the stability of the Big Sky vs. the Summit is clearly showing which team and conference they prefer.
-
FU has a solid basketball program and Saul does a good job recruiting. The biggest question with them and the MVC is location. The Summit is like the BSC, both are one bid leagues and whoever can string 3 games together in March is the only team going to the dance. When 8 out of 9 teams make the tournament, a February game doesn't mean much.
-
Why would a Horizon school want to add more competition to get a baseball team to the tournament? If they happen to lose a baseball playing school, they know they could add one team only by inviting one Summit team. Thats the problem the Summit league faces, they are on the bottom of the totem pole as far as Midwest conferences are concerned. Their two best baseball options just joined another conference. No one is going to leave another conference to rush to the Summit league for baseball.
-
I disagree. I think the Summit schools have an idea where they would like to end up, I don't think they know exactly where they are going to end up.
-
Some people who may be willing to donate for jersey's have to spend much more than $15 to attend a game.
-
Nice update Sic. It will definately be interesting to watch. Withall the things going on behind the scenes, conference AD's and their commissioners may feel comfortable in the morning, only to end up watching a press conference of a school leaving for another conference that afternoon.

You can't really say Sutton was not effective last year. He didn't have break away speed but he was our most consistent back. It would have been really hard to bench him. And with the previous seasons Miller had, they were 1-2 in my book. I don't think it was the backs last year, I think it was the Oline. Need improvement there.
-
It isn't alcohol, drugs or fighting so really it would be no big deal.
-
Either Douple A) Knows something everyone else doesn't or B) is not very bright. I'll go with B and can't wait until Oakland leaves.
-
Those two really surprise me. Both of them had a lot of offers.
-
He must be fairly confident Oakland is sticking around. The AQ for those other teams hinges on a college that has not hid the fact that they want to leave the conference. The Summit would have been nice for baseball, but we have a conference with a AQ.
-
I have wondered about UNC. It is later in the year so attendance will likely dip but being an old NCC school may help. I think the thing lacking with the Big Sky teams right now is recognition. It will take some time, and a few incidents or close games (like Montana) last year to build some recognition with fans. They also need to understand the conference so they get next year we have all the traditional conference powers coming to the Alerus. Thats a big deal.

I'm not the one who brought up his name. I was just stating its highly unlikely that UND pays their head coach less than a position coach at FU like you were implying. It doesn't matter which year you were getting your information from to see that. I already stated earlier Kotelnicki is probably the leading candidate but opening it up outside is the wise thing to do. If we can find a candidate better than Kotels, he's going to be a good coach but I really think he has the football knowledge to excel at this position and would be a good replacement now that our talent on D is starting to improve.
-
I just figured for being such a "huge UND fan" you would know how much the head coach gets paid. It was just in the paper less than a year ago. Has nothng to do with whether a fan agrees with the program right now or not.
