  1. Brekke being in fould trouble all night last night didn't help either.
  2. Second FU game I have been to this season. Both of those defenses are very good. Both qb's are average and really limit the offenses. I could see both of those teams making some noise in the playoffs. Talked to a few BU fans at the game and the one thing I didn't realize is how poor their defense was last year. It gave me hope for next season. They have had some guys step up this year and their defense as been much improved.
  3. As more than a few mentioned above shooting was not good last night. Even the open looks we got, and there were more than enough, did not go down. It was obvious that K State was returning 8 or 9 guys from last years team, the rolled in a couple very good point guards and big man after big man. I agree with Dustin above and hopefully the poor shooting of good looks was an anomoly but when we got behind we absolutely buried ourselves with poor shot selection. When your not making the open ones, you can't expect the poor looks to go down. KState really blew it open at that point. I do think Taylor is going to be a good player for us.
  4. As someone mentioned above, UND didn't have a whole lot of negotiating power when this contract was done. At the time, we were in a 5 team conference and the Big Sky and a 8 game conference schedule were on our wish list, not a reality. When scheduling we had to take what we could get. Don't let the facts get in the way of your constant complaining.
  5. They seem just fine but they also don't potentially have a string of 3 or 4 playoff games starting immediately. They have 1 (2 if they play in a conference title game). Also, with the current BCS not playing a 12th game would be detrimental to a team with any nat'l championship hopes. That being said, I really want to see UND take advantage of the opportunity to schedule a 12th game. We already have the luxery of 7 home games so going on the road for 5 wouldn't be a big deal..
  6. I think not getting a 12th game next season is a mistake. I like the idea of using it for a future home and home. I think next year there are going to be more teams who have 8 wins and be at 8-4. If a team does play 12 and loses but gets to 7 wins does 7-5 look any worse than 7-4? I know its an extra game of wear and tear on the team but we always need to be thinking playoffs and if playing 12 games gives us a better chance at the end of the year, we have to do it.
  7. This, if Austin Dufault would have needed to transfer closer to home for the same reason's Nash did and decided to choose UND he would have been 400 miles from home or 330ish if he would have choose FU.

    Sutton

Well, does PJ Sparks get some carries against UNC. According to Wayne Nelson Mitch Sutton's year is over with a broken collarbone. Thanks for putting the time in Mitch. A bruising runner who always ran hard and was having a good senior season.
  9. I think we score a couple early ones and the defense bends but doesn't break and we get the W.
  10. That is an awesome preview. I can't wait until Friday when the season truely kicks off.
  11. I can't believe a decision hasn't been made on Nash yet. This isn't the NCAA's first go around with this, and with all the thing Texas Tech's basketball just went through with their coach, it should only add to granting him immediate elgibility.

Nice win guys. Glad the seniors left the Alerus with a win. Get a win vs. Northern Colorado in a couple weeks and finish over .500.

Didn't realize how many injuries we have. Having Brown and Lewis out in the secondary isn't good. Plus missing Andrews and Jablonski at LB won't help either.

Looking forward to the game as well. Enjoy your time up here and we all look forward to a big game from the offense tomorrow.

A little over 24 hrs until kickoff. After a week of sulking over last Saturday's game I am excited for tomorrow. I want to see how this team bounces back one more time. I'm excited to see one of the best QB's in all of college football come to the Alerus tomorrow. There is no doubt Sorenson will get a shot to make a NFL squad next season.

Go look at your own fan board. Your own fans are stating that there were at least two full sections of student seats open. I know you don't want to take a UND fan's word for it so take it from your own kind. There may have been 18.066 tickets sold or given away for the game but even your own die hard fans will admit actual butts in seats was well below that. Both students and teammakers. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you weren't at the game either.

I read what he said. They must be tiny students if you can fit 20-25 extra people in a row.

Your telling me there was roughly 800 seats open? OK. Topic is student turnout. UND has been over their free student alotment for 3 of their home games, right around it for 1 and below it for the 5th and will probably be below it for the 6th. I went to the FU game with family and wanted to see how FU students turned out, based on your comments the last couple weeks I expected the sections to be full. They left plenty of seats open as well. A ton of open rows above the section entrances and not many in the endzones besides the band. Point is, you have the #1 team in the country and they still can't get students to turn out. A percentatge of them that were there left at half. Its the same scene I see when I attend games at UND yet you come on here and try and tell us all about our student turnout.

FU gives out 6,000 student tickets? I was only using my eyes but you'll have to try pretty hard to convince me the student sections were half full.

Johnny, I was at the FU game last weekend and your student turnout is nothing to take a lot of pride in. Not many students in the top half of the section and none in the endzones. I wouldn't be commenting too much on student turnout at other schools.

So are we going to have to throw for 400+ to win this one or are we going to have success running the ball like we did last season against this same team? I'm going out on a limb and predicting Miller has similar numbers to last year and our offense gets back on track.

    Fire Muss

I'm not completely disagreeing with you but your basing your interest in UND football based on what 25-50 people with fake names write on a message board. That tells me nothing other than some people have more time on their hands than others.
  23. For me it all comes back to the fact that we won't be able to afford leaving 10-15 easy points out there just on poor free throw shooting alone this year. I'm really excited for this basketball season. Any word on Nash yet?

Thanks for the help on that. I guess I don't really know the rules behind a medical redshirt. I assumed he could apply since an injury kept him sidelined since before fall camp but did not know how that worked.

Per Tom Miller- Darren Deneui is out for the year. Kleason may come back. Whats everyone's thoughts on this? Worth bringing Kleason back for two games? He was our best o-linemen last year. While I am sure he is chomping at the bit to get back out and play, I'd love to have him for a full season if a medical redshirt is possible.
