  1. A little bit tighter on Saturday night as UND goes for the sweep against Berrrrrr-midji. Watching these old games reminds me of how much I miss Sweeney's call...he was a homer but he was OUR homer.
  2. Well it looks like we are back in business....my good SiouxSports friend Mujack has provided me with enough technology/help desk support to convert the 2007-08 games recorded to a workable format for YouTube. Mujack, you and Ryan Duncan vs Bemidji are the MAN! Note: The game picks up during the first intermission.
  3. Can we fire the Federal Govt? Asking for a friend.
  4. So how do you know when a rivalry is unhealthy? I'll hang up and listen.
  5. Really...now he's in charge of several of the old WCHA teams that weren't deemed worthy of taking the ice with Gofer and Badger. #BigMistake
  6. Here's a personal favorite...The Sioux take on the upstart Badgers (who got into the tourney with a sub .500 record) at the Kohl Center in Madison with a trip to the Frozen Four on the line.
  7. Better watch Ugly Helmets...I swear Red Berenson has YouTube spies looking to take down any video of Michigan losses.
  8. Saturday night against Tech and the Sioux are looking for the sweep!
  9. The Sioux host Michigan Wreck at REA in January of 2008. Here's the Friday night game hosted by your favorites; Sweeney and Scanlan!
  10. Not sure what that means but it doesn't seem good.
  11. The Sioux travel to the Kohl Center in Madison to take on Bucky Badger. Some highlights include a review of the famous Water Bottle Game from 1982 during the first intermission. Also, don't miss the coach's handshake at the end of the game...Mike Eaves and Dave Hakstol have a few choice words.
  12. And now, the stunning conclusion. (Part 2 of 2)
  13. Part 1 of 2...the Sioux face Michigan in the 2007 Western Regional at Pepsi Center in Denver. Don't look away from the screen in the first period or you'll miss a goal! This game was the definition of a shootout. Enjoy!
  14. Any chance each party could give us some new candidates? Over 300 million people in this country and we get to choose between 'the Donald' and Creepy Joe? Anybody know if Harold Stassen is still alive?
  15. Not a big fan of the 3 on 3 OTs; seems too gimmicky to me. It looks more like a skills competition or an All-Star game with only 6 guys on the ice. #okboomer
  16. Me too...I was lucky enough to see that game in person; it was just crazy when Dorey tied the game in the last minute with his tip shot. Still think the Sioux would have won that game if they had played the OT right away instead of goiing to intermission.
  17. My pleasure. I finally ran out of VHS tapes of Sioux games but found a small stack of games recorded to DVD. Will be picking up some new editing software this weekend and will hopefully get the rest of the games uploaded.
  18. It was always crazy when Minny was in town!
  19. The house of horrors continues for Doug Woog and the Gofers as their visit to the Old Ralph is highlighted by a four goal performance by Jeff Panzer. Don't have the whole game but did catch his final goal.
  20. You can't put a bounty on a man's head!
  21. So the Saturday game after Trupp's game winning goal, the teams play to a seemingly innocent 1-1 tie. With 3 seconds left in OT, the teams have a faceoff just outside the Minnesota zone. Looks like this game's pretty much over except for the final horn and a sportsmanlike handshake. Note: I love how the Gofer announcers attribute all the goonery to UND; their Golden boys certainly wouldn't be at all to blame for the dustup.
  22. The Sioux take on the Gofs at Mariucci Arena February 1, 2008. I was lucky enough to attend this game in person; what a great atmosphere for a college hockey game. (back when fans actually showed up for Gofer hockey) Evan Trupp with an amazing play to quiet the Minny faithful. Note: The last 6:43 of the second period somehow got deleted/taped over; apologies!
  23. The Sioux cap off the tourney with Chris Vande Velde named player of the game and Evan Trupp MVP of the Final Five. All tourney team named as well.
  24. The Sioux play their 3rd game in 3 days at the 2010 WCHA Final Five. They face the SCSU Huskies in the title game and they appear to be a little sleepy in the first minute of play. Brad Eidsness shakes off a rough start to lead the boys to a strong finish. Enjoy!
