Very unfortunate, my wishes to Jason Smith and his family. FHG is right, every team has fans that should be discarded. I don't think it is fair to lump one incident as a representation of an entire fanbase. That is ludicrous but it is often done anyways. And while some of you share your bad experiences with Gopher fans I'll give a positive. I've been to two UND//UMN series at the Mariucci. Both times I had a great and pleasant time(albeit could be due to the Sioux sweeping one year and then taking 3 of 4 points). I had very good discussions with the Gopher fans I talked to. Of course there was the occasional exchange of razzing but that was it. Only time I did have a problem when I was there dealt with college students. And personally, they can be lumped cause most of them are d-bags.

Good series to have Aaron Dell start a game. GO SIOUX!!

Also I forgot to say, how about that Sioux Penalty Kill? Another bright spot for this Sioux team. Have not allowed a PP goal yet.

well it was very evident. The boys were simply gassed. I'm fine with 3 of 4 points. Would've enjoyed another sweep over the Gophers though. GO SIOUX!!

When he went out to corral it and missed it he took himself out of play. So when it squirted through his arm(I believe?) it was an empty net. Then again doesn't help he got knocked over by a Sioux player(??)

I find it funny that NDSU people are expressing outrage towards the media for Mr. Chapman's resignation. I think the media has only skimmed the surface in regards to the controversies surrounding Chapman. So I won't be surprised if there is more info just waiting to be revealed on Chapman's mishandling of money.

I'd be embarrassed if I was a NDSU fan seeing other fans throwing stuff onto the field. It's amazing seeing so many NDSU fans jump ship cause of one struggling season.

I've always wondered about this to. So I took the liberty to contacting someone who would know the answer. So I sent an e-mail to Pat Sweeney who I must say has always responded to my inquiries regarding the FSSN broadcast. Great guy! Anyways here is his response as to why there is no penalty clock:

I gotta say it was a great reading all the threads that were made after there loss on Saturday. I mean just pure comical. The sky is falling indeed for them . Gotta say they had it coming though with there pompous attitude and smack talking. Karma is a @#$%& !! Anyways though I surely do enjoy beating USD. Even though I always enjoyed playing Nebraska-Omaha more. Better rivalry IMO. None the less great win to open the season at the Alerus. GO Sioux!!
