  1. 3-2 At least the Gophs didn't get skunked this weekend... Actually, they looked much better during the last 4-5 minutes of the second.
  2. Answer D.
  3. I take every Mazacco comment with a grain of salt. The Pacific is almost fresh water now. Bad game for the Gophers tonight....but it's October.
  4. Nice goal by Bomber tonight in St. Paul.
  5. I noticed that too sprig. MN looks slow....afoot and mentally....today. Maine is playing an oustanding game though.
  6. Sik - I'm guessing most of the info shows up on Parise on Ice first.
  7. Here's a vote for Paul Braun as the greatest hockey announcer (sans Al Shaver) I've heard do a college game. He is simply the best. Saggissor? He could be good but he seems to try way to hard to be outrageous IMO.
  8. That'll learn me to peruse. I was thinking Sports Illustrated. I thought if ZP had been on the Sports Illustrated cover it would have been a bigger deal on POI.
  9. Is this a regional or nationwide cover? When I went to the CNN-SI site the cover for the week of 10/6 was some football player. I don't get the magazine, I'm just curious. Thanks.
  10. If you think Mazacco is the unbiased announcer I would suggest laying off the crack. Woog is far more critical of the Gophers (and their opponents) than Frank ever dreams of being. PCM - TFF
  11. Lawkota - I can handle it and no problem. I am not a flamer, especially on this board. I did not want to come across as ripping UND or Blais but did find the comment interesting. Context was maybe a poor term choice. Carry on.
  12. When I say the quote might be out of context I am not ripping Pat. I just don't know what preceded or followed Blais' statement. If the situation was reversed and MN had the very easy schedule and had their butts whooped against Ferris wheel state I would have thought the weak non-conf as a factor. Good to see the Sioux schedule been upgraded this year - I'm happy about that. It's good for the WCHA when its marquee members (UM, UND, UW) play top competition from other leagues.
  13. Funny shirt PCM, thanks for the link. If I were a UND fan I think I would find this quote from coach Blais in the article very disturbing. Curious to hear what the Sioux fans think.
  14. Denver was coming off a tremendous year in 2002 and had almost everyone back - including arguably the top two goalies in the league - so it was not a stretch to pick them as the repeat WCHA champs. Contrary, MN had lost most of its leadership and ~40% of its scoring. I was not surprised they didn't win the WCHA, but was pleasantly surprised how well the came together when it mattered most - which was very un-Minnesota like, especially under the Wooger.
  15. I was curious too, try to right click on the picture and choose save as. It's been named domipounds if memory serves.
  16. Absolutely.
  17. Where else would it go? Vermont? Ohio? Luxembourg?
  18. The Fusco's. Brudders. http://www.hobeybaker.com/history.php
  19. Scott - Mike and Chris McAlpine were first cousins. Chris is from Roseville and Mike from South St. Paul. Mike's dad was a goalie for SSP in the early 60's with Wooger - and has the mug to prove he didn't need no stinkin' mask. Chris' dad used to be in charge of the bomb squad with the St. Paul polce dept.
  20. I am very confident Umberger will not be a Hobey finalist.
  21. No. Hull played 84-85 & 85-86. He then signed with the Flames.
  22. Luckily Pat I didn't have to deal with that scenario!! I am recusing myself from the crow pie - I have never made a predition of a third straight title. Sure I'd welcome it, but way to many intangibles for me to make such a prediction. Plus, I don't think I'd like crow, WPoS told me it tastes a lot like eagle.
  23. A win is a win is a win is a win. Especially in the frozen four. Since the Don took over there has a been a change in Gopherville, games we used to choke away we now win, but apperantly not by nearly enough goals. I will submitt your request to have his teams completely squash all opposition in the NCAA tournament to The Don.
  24. Umm, no. From what I can tell very supportive. Contrary to our reputation, we are very sensitive and caring. Not sure if he will come back or not - he hasn't indicated. Lucia said the door is open. As for eligibility, I do not know. Maybe this is considered a redshirt year? Not sure how that works if he's not in school anywhere.
