I didn't see any signs referring to what some friends of mine called UMD when I went to school there: UMdee Dumbdee.

One thing was learned during the WCHA's tenure in Minneapolis: The Target Center sucks for hockey. Horrible, putrid, rotten..... The Wild are very involved in amateur hockey in MN and the region, I think it's actually considered part of their mission (Mission? ), so I suspect they will continue to offer the best deal to the WCHA for the Final Five as long as Neagle owns the team.

Apparently Atherton was out too. Vanek disappearing during the UND series seems to have been more the exception than the rule. As mentioned, credit Prpich.

Professional help? Probably, but this has nothing to do with Gopher hockey. Liquor? Yes. Pissing away these two points is going to really hurt come March. Prior to this weekend I thought a top three WCHA was still attainable, now I'm not so sure barring an incredible run. From the sounds of it MN was completely outworked last night and the results show. Dedicated teams do not give up two goal leads to bad teams. It's a Jekyll & Hyde season, one doesn't know if they will come out smoking or be out smoking. This weekend we saw both.

Dave Christian is a great guy. Had a chance to meet him (and his dad) at the MN HS tourney the past two years. BTW, you guys will like this. I once read a Christian quote about Herb Brooks. He said "Herb & I have been involved in two of the biggest upsets in hockey history, the '80 Olympic team and the '79 national championship game." I always liked those games!

They already do. I am as much a fan of the game as I am of the Gophers.

I think MN has two defensive defenseman (man, is that redundant) in Atherton & Taylor but both are very inexperienced and still growing into the position. Playing good tough defense in the WCHA is still the toughest transition for any player in college hockey. It is no coincidence MN's improvement comes a the same time these two players begin to feel more comfortable. BTW, I am convinced Woog reads the boards and sometimes says stuff specifically for a reaction.

I just posted something similar on USCHO, but I thought Prpich was one the best Sioux players on the ice late last year, especially during the NCAA regionals. I could not believe the improvement he made from the first time I saw him at Mariucci to what I saw late in the year.

Try going to a Viking game wearing a Bears or P(sl)ackers jersey.

I would assume a player of Parise/Vanek quality would sign (at minimum) a two way contract with a healthy bonus. Wouldn't the lock-out prevent such an animal? I don't know but I assume someone will.

What's a bigger assumption, Vanek leaving after this year or there being a NHL season for '04-'05?

1. This kind of reaction does not fit Grant's SOP. 2. Right now, GP is more POed at his own team's performance and future. 3. As someone mentioned, the injury was caused in a fight for the puck - this is straight from RP I would guess someone is trying to get Sioux fans dander up.

Wow, a thread goes from discussing a serious knee injury and soon goes right into the toilet. I could not imagine the posts if this had happened on POI.
