No problem and I apologize - I probably jumped on you guys a little to quick. I suspect my buddy WPoS would concur. As for Briggs, from what I've read the staff is high in him, but in the end they anticipate JJ to be the man. Of course, what would one expect the staff to say, Briggs is a mutt? Anyway, look for JJ & Briggs to alternate early and for JJ to assume more time as the season progresses. They are looking for a third goalie - if only to have available for practice as (insert name here - I can't recall) did last year. It sounds like Weber has an open invitation to return if he chooses even though it appears his abrupt departure blindsided the staff. Is it just me or does UMD always seem to have a netminder who is capable of stealing a game? Much like UW when Sauer still cared, IMO. That should be taken as a hint as to how I voted.

I concur.

Schmidt - Maybe the lost desire and his brother's health are related? Seems logical to me.

I went to UMD for a year. We used to say, "UMD. Where the men are men and the woman beat the !@$! out of them!"

Should not be tough for you to find, they all go to school at UND.

If it's true he left because of his brother's health situation I would say calling him 'turkey" is a little insensitive.

The general thought on POI is both Dean & Gino deserved to be on the list. I agree 100%. Also, since I did not see any criteria, where is Bob Peters? Finally, this comes more than 22 minutes after Clayton's post....

Seems like the NCAA is trying to solve a problem that does not exist. From any other organization I'd find this disturbing; but with the NCAA it's business as usual.

I could not agree more. The only caveat is I cannot cheer for UW. Otherwise I have no problem cheering for any other WCHA team in the NCAA tournament.

Golf is fun because it's frustrating. Skydiving is basically a pass/fail sport.

Comments regarding Paul Martins future
Greyeagle replied to If only we had Belfour's topic in Men's Hockey
Take The Money & Run is Woody Allen's best movie, IMO. Playing cello in a marching band....TFF. Martin - Hard to believe Sioux fans think he should leave - and this Gopher fan thinks he should stay. Money & bus rides around Albany? Or, wait a year and physically mature some to put yourself in a better position at having a shot at the big club. If Leo is up and down as a rook for a bad Calgary team why would Paul think he could make the defending cup champs? The amount of $$$ probably isn't going to change dramatically from this year to next year (given I'm a labor agreement neophyte and could be dead wrong on this) and he doesn't yet have what I'd call an NHL defensman's body. -
If you're looking for PCM Handy don't forget he's much older than you'd think....

It took a few years but Hauser made a nice recovery. Am I a Sioux fan? No, but that was one hell of a hockey team. I don't think I've seen one better in the years I've been watching WCHA hockey. I wish I could have seen the '61 DU team just to compare as the '87 UND and '61 DU teams are the two teams considered the best ever in the leagues history. I think if the '81 Gophers had won the NC I think they could have been considered in the same class. But as the saying goes, if "ifs and buts were candy and.... Thanks for the link.

Goon - For your reading pleasure. -
Hartigan was nuked by Nashville. Article

Sounds eerily familiar to what AA fans were saying last summer.

Skate / PCM - Take a peek at this.

I Know, but it's way more fun to make fun of a JBSU icon than a UND failure.

I thought this was going to be a Tyler Arnason thread......

For those who have not heard, she had been missing from her St. Paul home since early this week. Her body was found in Woodbury (eastern suburb) yesterday afternoon. She is the mother of WCHA head of officials Greg Shepherd. Here is story from STar-Trib. Very sad for the family.

sprig - It's become a mixed up strange twisted world.

From The Shooter's column today.

Well the female UMDers were there too... The GWB Presidency is working out very well for the Gophers!

That is why I posted the link and not the picture. Way off topic, but will ZP wear the "C" next year? Interesting if he does as a SO.
