  1. It definitely is just you. If you don't think it's "in" to not be republican or a conservative, you must not have watched the news lately. Like Redwing said, I'm just waiting for CNN, MSNBC, and the New York Times to issue their ringing endorsements for Obama. Whatever happend for newspapers and news channels to being non-partisan now-a-days?
  2. I've only seen 3 games(1 on TV, the other 2 webcasts), but after last night I would say the Eidsness took a step forward ahead of Walski. He kept us in the game on a ton of chances and the 3 goals he allowed he didn't have a prayer on any of them. Eidsness should get the nod Friday night against Wisconsin IMO.
  3. I still don't get why they didn't count the 2nd goal for SCSU in the first period. Yes, he deflected it with his hand. But it clearly went off the Gopher D-man before going into the goal. The referee's reasoning, according to the FSN guy, was that the player made a swipe at the puck and hit it in mid-air. What difference does that make? Isn't that like saying the SCSU guy high-sticked the puck, hit the Gopher guy, and then went in? I did not understand the call.
  4. This is why replay is rediculous. An obvious shot(to me at least) went off the cross bar and then the post for SCSU. Every angle you see it clear as day. The problem is, the referees are scared to make a call IMO and it takes them 10 minutes to make this call. They need to make the process faster, or at least make limits on the time you have to make the call. If it was a goal, SCSU lost all their momentum.
  5. Finley did not make the trip, dinged up? UND Blog
  6. What a joke... In scenario #1, there is 3 brutally tough regions with Michigan virtually guaranteed a spot in the Frozen Four. And, in scenario #2, they would rather have 2 regions of death(West/Midwest), 1 regional final guaranteed(BC/UNH), and another regional where Michigan is once again guaranteed to reach the Frozen Four. There is a reason bracket integrity was invented. With such a limited field of 16 teams, you either have to keep bracket integrity there or else get rid of it entirely without the top overall seed getting favorable regions.
  7. So I can count on you and your attitude not being on here tomorrow night? Yippee.
  8. You don't pull the goalie when he's not getting any help in front of him.
  9. Last year our tickets were in section 201 through the FSC...Plenty of Sioux Fans "Ole"ing and chanting "Sweep" as you walk out.
  10. Is it just me or does the student section look 1/2 empty on TV?
  11. Just a heads up for people looking for rooms in Duluth, since I live here: Apparently there is a Pre-Christmas Festival or something of that nature going on that weekend of the hockey series. That's what the lady told me at The Inn on Lake Superior when I was checking on rooms for my parents. The Suites(formerly The Hawthorne Suites) and The Inn on Lake Superior were both sold out for that weekend already. My sister got a room at Best Western for $72 with a coupon I found. That's about 6 blocks from the arena.
  12. Correct me if I am wrong, but are any UND hockey games that take place over a holiday break ever included? I don't believe so, so maybe you should feel fortunate that they gave you an opportunity to purchase them anyways. Besides, $10/ticket for what the general public was paying $40/ticket is really fair in my opinion.
  13. I sure am glad Kozek decided to smile this year.

    Sweet 16

    50-50 as of right now!
  15. Are you sure that's the end of the ice the Sioux shoot at twice? I was there last year in sections 4 and 5 and I watched Vande Velde score the winning goal on Sunday on my end. They don't switch ends for OT, so I'm just making sure.
  16. Where do you live? I live in Duluth, MN. I had to re-look through my issue and there wasn't an advertisement in mine about UND.
  17. Sweet....Thanks for the heads up on Forbort. I am going to watch his game tonight and will post some information on him if I can.
  18. I don't know about Ben Blood because I didn't see him, but I saw Corey Fienhage at one of the practices and he looks "slightly" bulkier than the previous #4: Taylor Chorney.... And by slightly, I mean massively.
  19. Sorry, no FSU, UTAH, SDSU, or UI in the finals. We do have a Smokey and Cocky though. But the NCAA can't control who advertises during their events.(it's a joke) And FWIW, they spell it Thundar. Is that Australian?
  20. IMO, there is no way you would get the Pepsi Center to sell out any year, let alone every other year, if they hosted a final 5. How many teams are within 300 miles(roughly) of it? 2. How many teams are within 300 miles(roughly) of the XCel? 6.5(MTU is 367 miles). That's a large difference, considering the major traveling fan bases(UMN, UW, UND) are among them.<--IMO again. Considering that the teams have a revenue sharing stream associated with the Final Five(I believe), there is no way it will happen IMO.
  21. Sure, it's an easier decision. But everyone still has the same opportunity as everyone else to buy those tickets. It's not that hard to sell your tickets if need be once you find out where your team is headed, if it is some other regional site.
  22. Obviously they play there more than any other team. It's in the same city. Come regional time, everyone gets the same fair shot at tickets as everyone else. Plus, it's a great arena in a very central location. That's the point.
  23. Travis Erstad, who we apparently recruited and came down to us and UW, decided against playing another year of juniors and will now go play D-III at UW-Stout. WCHA Hockey Blog
  24. I don't remember which month of "The Hockey News" magazine, but I do remember reading the same thing about the 20 Blackhawks games being televised on WGN. There was a quote about it from the GM and all the changes they made regarding the broadcasts once the previous owner passed away.
