You must be working on that UofM degree to figure that out. That wasn't my point. When you keep making posts about how boring your game is, you get what you pay for. Besides, I wonder if the UofM is paying any of these teams to come out for this tourney?

It must be nice when your former coach(Woog) is making light of the competition that Lucia schedules for the tournaments. As Woog said, if Minnesota was willing to travel to teams in the regular season they would get better ones for this tournament.

Charter is a Minnesota thing: Mankato, Duluth, St. Cloud, Minneapolis area. On Fightingsioux.com it says the game is on Charter, but on this link Charter Sports it doesn't show the UND-Bemidji game. Living in Duluth, I've never seen a Bemidji game listed yet, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for those of us living in Minnesota yet.

Not that it pertains to the Sioux game at all, but just another example of our league in "great" light in the Wisconsin game: Wis. Recap "To make doubly sure it was a goal, Shepherd went to check the video replay, only to find out that the replay officials had turned off the system after the overtime period, thinking the game had concluded." How hard is it to turn the "system" back on?

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. I was hoping I wasn't the only one that watched the game, or at least the shoot-out. My only explanation for the no-goal call: Shepherd! In all seriousness, you could tell it was a goal without looking at it from the over head view. I can't imagine what the over head view would have showed B. Shepherd and Anderson. The explanation he was giving the Lake Superior State coaches must have been enlightening to hear I bet. The coaches for Lake Superior State are now thankful they are not in our league with our incompetent officials.

11 goals so far this year...Are the Coyotes wishing they signed him now or who did they get with their compensation pick?

CC is up 7-0 on Sacred Heart after 2 tonight.

I had to dust this topic off and revive it for a question: Does anyone know if Al Pearson is planning a bus trip to Michigan Tech again this year? It's coming up soon in the middle of January. Any information would be appreciated.

The same way the "experts" predict weather: They just guess.

I don't know if you want to say that Kangas has been clearly better than Bachman this year. I'd say the first 10 games Bachman was solid, he just seems rattled the last half of the games. Don't forget, Kangas has also had "Bachman" games. See Denver, Michigan State, Michigan. And I think Kangas is a really good goaltender, but he's not a game changer/stealer yet to me. In stretches, yes. But consistently, no. I don't know if I've seen that type of goalie out there yet this season.

I'm watching the webcast and if you follow the puck, it clearly is kicked in by the SCSU player. How Pat Sweeney and Co. can't see that on their TV if I can see it on my pixelated computer screen is beyond me.

IMO, That goal is not even in the same category as Toews'. It doesn't have the same "wow" factor to me. Probably because it took a little longer to develop, where Toews' goal was all one motion.
-
Where the heck is AZSioux? So it looks like Mario and Fienaghe(sp?) are out, with Blood and Toews in. UND's lines(According to Schlossman) 16 Ryan Duncan--29 Chris VandeVelde--8 Ryan Martens 17 Jason Gregoire--19 Evan Trupp--21 Matt Frattin 10 Andrew Kozek--11 Darcy Zajac--18 David Toews 20 Matt Watkins--22 Brad Malone--26 Brett Hextall 3 Derrick LaPoint--5 Chay Genoway 6 Zach Jones--25 Jake Marto 24 Ben Blood--14 Brad Miller 31 Brad Eidsness 30 Aaron Walski 35 Graeme Harrington Let's go out and put up another touchdown on Big Red tonight!

I'm sure it's been talked about, but the officiating was absolutely brutal. Both ways. I counted 7-8 penalties, that by the book, are penalties on Friday night in my end that weren't called. The calls all weekend were mind-boggling. My buddy and I were joking about how long we could go without a penalty being called on Saturday Is Shepherd the head official of the league and the only one that can call penalties? Because Hunt only called one penalty during Saturday's game(Genoway's). The hit that Kozek laid on the UMD player, called a charge, was terrible. He never accelerated, because he had just started his shift. Apparently checking is not allowed. Tell the UMD player to keep his head up and on a swivel. The Hextall goalie interference penalty that started the demise at the end of the 3rd was even more troubling for me. You have Shepherd in the corner watching this play develop. Stalock puts his stick out, slows down Hextall, and then falls backwards into net. Totally ruined the 5 minute major PP we had, or at least half of it. Those are the big ones that stand out in my mind. It seemed to me like they let more stuff go Friday and tried to make up for it on Saturday in the first period. We were flat on Saturday regardless, but getting called for roughing/charging/checking seemed to really mellow the team for the rest of the game. I don't remember seeing a big hit the rest of the game from us. I also really hate the delayed penalty call that turns into 4x4 situations. One example: Malone laid out a guy cleanly, then after the whistle the UMD guy retaliates against Malone. Genoway jumps on the guy and somehow it leads to a 4x4. What happend to consistency among the officials/league? My last comment: Was/Is the ice known to be bad at the DECC or did the puck just seem to be bouncing everywhere all weekend?

Kangas came in as an older(20 years old) freshman. His birthday is 5/28/87, while Eidsness' birthday is 6/2/89. Kangas has got a full 2 years on Eidsness. I'd say it's a pretty tough comparison to make.

No Snow? No Deer? Hell, it was a normal day in North Dakota then.

They just said on the radio that it was Jones who played with a broken hand I thought. So, we have 7 D-Men on our roster: Finley-Concussion(Out) Genoway-Upper and Lower Body Injuries(Out) Jones-Broken Hand(Played) Blood-Cut Artery in Hand(missed a period of hockey tonight) I'd call it a gutsy weekend. Is there any chance we can postpone the Alaska series to another weekend so we heal up?
-
After listening to Hextall's radio interview....He's gonna be a good one for us. Tim H: I bet you Chad Rau knows who you are now. Hextall: Good. I hope he does and I hope the whole team gets to know me too tomorrow.
-
I'd call it a charge. It just looked like Genoway froze for a second and didn't know which way to go in the corner.
-
3-0 Sioux with 9 minutes to go
-
5-1 Denver after 2 now

You better hope the NCAA gives you the NC because there's no way you are going to actually win it.

Anyone ever rent their suite?
LeftyZL replied to langmotorsports's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
On the tour I took this summer,- Ralph's Suite is always available to rent unless his family comes to town to watch a game. That happens a couple times a year I was told. And from what I remember, it was something like $3200 for his suite and tickets to the game. -
I just read an article in the Duluth News Tribune about this constitutional amendment. I've heard about it before, but researched it more today. Raising taxes in MN by just a little less than 4 cents on every $10(proposed) may not seem like a lot to the common person. But like you said, raising taxes for anything right now would be rediculous.
