You just never know with goalies as many of them have played some of their best hockey into their Forties. Johnny Bower did it with Toronto in the sixties and helped them win a Stanley Cup. If their joints and reflexes hold up they can play alot longer than the skaters.

Yes, it definitely seemed that the Ref didn't want to put the Goofers down a man when they were trailing 4-0 and even Clement commented that the Gophers got away with a few. Another character win and I hope Jordan is okay from the hit. I also loved the ESPN 2 coverage as they constantly panned the audience and showed most of the Sioux fans celebrating goals. I know I spotted NorthDakotaHockey and I also believe I spotted PCM. Who was it that I had their face painted and had a large Sioux pennant hanging from their neck. I have to get one. I also loved Belfours reaction to Parise's great glove save on the backhander to keep it 1-0. One more guys, you can do it.

It is quite possible that Rory picked Harrington because he knows that he is an easy target or victim for the trash talk. It appears to have worked! Ah the delicate Gopher Psyche, punching walls, crashing the net, and fabricating their rebuttals. What a fun bunch to watch lose.

As if getting shut down by the Sioux wasn't bad enough, according to the USCHO site Chris Bourque is leaving the Terriers to play in the Quebec Major Junior League. Although the Bourques may be talented hockey players they apparently aren't rocket scientists.

Poor little Tallywhacker. If only the WCHA D-men were as tiny as all those Eastern Ds he might have actually amounted to something.

Personally, I have no axe to grind with Lucia and perhaps this simply is a matter of Hirsch being too sensitive a human being to play at the DI Level. Perhaps some of the CC prospects were too sensitive and the expectations of the CC fans were too high for the players in quesion. So Five-Hole, haven't been to a Gophers-CC game at the World arena lately, have you? Ask anyone who has and they will tell you that a special chorus of Boos and expletives is saved for Lucy when he makes the long walk from the vistors corner gate to the players bench. And yes Sagard you are correct that one of the players whose name comes up on a regular basis is Cugnut. It was nice to get a rebuttal from someone who is well voiced on the WCHA.

A buddy of mine who is a BCHL ref on Vancouver Island keeps tabs on the league players who move on to the NCAA and he told me the Sioux should get great results out of all three recruits. He has also praised the abilities of the Dogz recruit Garrison who I see took a top D-man award.

Ah but I didn't claim to get my info from a source who knows Gopher players. Devoted and knowledgeable hockey fans are far and few between this far west hence I really have befriended members of the Tiger's staff. It also doesn't hurt when the World Arena Manager's brother plays in your band. I am sure going to miss the great seats when I have to move this summer If only one person had commented on the mind games that Lucy played with the CC goaltenders I wouldn't have mentioned it, but there is a consensus. He is a hated man in Colorado Springs.
