He'll probably wind up like his predecessor, behind the mike correcting some pathetic ignoramus and, ranting and raving about the phantom Sioux assists that contributed to the demise of his coaching career.

WPos, I would liken your conclusion to spending your life in a gay bar and concluding that the whole world is gay, a fair analogy for Gopher fans if there ever was one Nothwithstanding, what has been posted on the internet by your so called fans, with the exception of the hugs and kisses following the Kessel signing, would support MafiaMan's hypothesis that there has not been alot of love in Gopher land.

Guess Lucy hasn't been happy with his winning Pct lately.

Although the boxscore has him listed as a Dman for one of the Colorado Srings games and RW in the other, I recall Bina getting played in a forward in both because I remember being impressed by his forechecking effort.
-
I recall Bina playing forward quite a bit during the season too. In fact he did for both games here in Colorado Springs and that wasn't too long after the Christmas break.

You are also trying to compare apples and oranges. You are trying to talk about a class that has come and gone versus an incoming class that has been part of both National and International success. You have two state Mr Hockeys the MVP of the last World U17 championship and two members of the U18 Gold Medal team. And what did the last Group accomplish before getting here. This year will not be a repeat.
-
Sorry JK but I have to diagree with your comparison/assessment. You have overlooked an important factor in your comparison. How about adding the prospect rankings for the two different groups and then compare them. The incoming talent far exceeds the old group. Go tell Sidney Crosby that age matters.

Based on the story at this link we should know in less than a month whether Green or Stafford are going anywhere. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=125609

I really enjoyed some of his goals because he got them by going hard to the net. One of the few players who did that last season.
-
They come to this school because a hockey career is their ultimate goal so what can you do when an opportunity knocks. I guess we will definitely see a lot more of Fabian next year which could be a good thing. I can't wait for more of his highligt reel goals.

I chose to ignore such mental midgets as clearly they know very little about the game. The odds favor the goalie when it comes to a penalty shot or shoot-out. Before his NHL career took off, Paul Kariya was stopped by the Swedish Sieve, Salo which gave Sweden the Gold Medal in a shoot-out. At the time, knowledgeable fans knew he was part of the future of Canadian hockey, and he went on to prove it. No doubt alot of the hate is coming from Goofer fans. Well my message to them would be, I don't see alot of future supporting cast coming from your school. Oh wait, thats right he plays for Austria.

For anyone who is still interested in the outcome of the World Championships, Canada is putting the boots to the Russians and are up 4-0 about half way through the game.
-
Yeah my home town Hawks lost their Captain and leading scorer to a ruptured spleen in their last series, which hurts their chances. I still think Camrose has the lineup to win it all.
-
US lost 3-2 apparently in a SO.
-
No problem at the worlds as US is up 1-0 on the Czechs and Canada is up 3-2 on the Slovaks

The big story of the day is Sweden trying to get Canada's best player suspended for contact with officials. I hope Canada gets to play them again in the medal round. The arena staff will likely have to mop up a few Swedish Meatballs after that one. http://www.tsn.ca/canadian_hockey/news_story.asp?id=124336
-
Neither, in this round each team gets one point for the tie.
-
The Swiss have tied the Russians 3-3 in the other game which just ended.
-
Scott Stevens just knocked Saku Koivu to a different planet and the season ends early for my Habs again.

I found this link that lists where all of the committed Canadian Tier II Junior players are headed for next year. http://www.cjahl.com/default.aspx?p=content&m=ncaa05

The five finalists for the Royal Bank Cup are: Camrose, Alberta Georgetown, Ontario Hawkesbury, Ontario Portage La Prairie, Manitoba Weyburn, Saskatchewan (as the host team) I would put my money on either Camrose or Hawkesbury to win the tournament as they come from stronger leagues. For anyone who gets to watch see if Hawkesbury plays their 6'7" D-man Gravel. He has plenty of potential however, he has a tendancy to take lots of penalties for high hits so the Hawks haven't been using him in deciding games. Where have we heard that before.

I oftened wondered what the person in the Goldie outfit actually looked like, so thanks!
