  1. Per the article in this link with the fifth pick of the 2006 draft, the Goofs in fact beat Holy Cross 14-0 for drafted players http://www.startribune.com/508/story/517189.html You could reverse the score if you would prefer discussing character and moral fiber
  2. Both Oshie and Toews demonstrated they were better players which has left egg on the face of both the WCHA and the NCAA. This thread is about Toews so lets stop talking about the One Move Bruin. Any debate on the subject ended a few months ago in the REA.
  3. Like their solution for everything else they do why not sweep it all under the carpet. It never happened.
  4. The Pubs in Boston are big league compared to Blarney's so who needs a signing bonus.
  5. Florida picks Lapoint #116
  6. Has he committed
  7. Forney was the 80th pick by the Atlanta Thrashers
  8. I guess the injuries must have hurt Forney's stock because he didn't get selected in the second round either.
  9. He was at the top of the European list so perhaps you were looking at their North American list only.
  10. Forney did not go in the first round as NJ picked an OHL D-man. Please bear with me as I blow my own horn. This time last year I stated that UND was getting the better prospect in Toews and you can review any old thread you would prefer on the subject. When it comes to a draft 3 is > 5. Thank you very much. I noticed that the dependable Vancouver jerks booed absolutely everything except Ovechkin. Go figure. When asked who they believe will get signed immediately from this draft the TSN Announcers only indicated two players, Eric Johnsson and Nicklas Backstrom.
  11. Harry Sinden should have been turfed 20 years ago.
  12. See my earlier post on the subject. The Frenchie was Brassard
  13. Don Cherry interviewed five Prospects tonight on Coaches Corner and in order they were Staal, Toews, Brassard, the one move wonder and Johnson. Once again Toews gave a great interview while one move seemed to struggle to push out words. I was waiting for him to conclude by saying "That's all folks".
  14. Too bad I was away for a couple of days and missed out on discussing the WCHA's two biggest sieves, Tweedle-Briggs and Tweedle-Frazzled. Oh how I hope that Briggs is his team's number one goalie this coming season.
  15. Did you also hear how loudly they cheered for the US Anthem as well. Recall that back during the World Juniors I told you that the jerk fans in Vancouver were nothing but a bunch of bunny-kissing tree-huggers. On the CBC feed North Dakota got a plug for producing Matt Greene and he got honorable mention from Ron MacLean for his play this evening.
  16. I am away for two days and the new goalie finally gets revealed. I have no idea how both ends kept it quiet this long. Yes he is only 17 and not even draft eligible however, remember what everyone said about Toews last year. Also this goalie was playing with and against a few 20 year olds and yet he was still his teams MVP in the playoffs. If Eddie says he is the real deal that is good enough for me and I still believe Lammy will have another battle on his hands to be the starter.
  17. If Roloson's injury is serious this series will be won by the Canes in four straight. Conklin is a sieve which is why the Oil went out and got Rollie the Goalie at the trade deadline.
  18. How did you get a copy of my decoder ring.
  19. I guess it will soften the blow of Johnson go direct to the Pros but the Sioux D all know his one move by now anyway.
  20. As I have said before, if the hockey career doesn't work out the one move wonder can replace Goldy and save UMTC the price of a costume.
  21. Poor Bucky, had one of those wishful dreams last night did you. Was it too much cheap pizza or beer before bedtime. Regardless of what you think of the remaining players, that young Sioux D will move the puck much better this season and you will see plenty of goals from the blueline for starters. Pick any returning forward you would like but I would bet that Duncan alone will double his goal total next season The good news for the rest of the WCHA is that Gopher goaltending will be as porous as ever. Next valid topic please.
  22. I am not sure if the athletes get some form of exception but the foreign student office did photocopy my Canadian passport. If the US goes to specail ID cards then no problem for its citizens I guess but the news stories in Canada have lead me to believe that passports will be required for a return to the US. Maybe another Canadian like Canuck has a different view on the subject.
  23. This post is purely speculation on my part but it is an upcoming issue that could free up some US born talent that had planned on going to the Major Juniors. As of next year the US is also going to demand passports of anyone entering the US from Canada. We all know that teenagers typically do at least one or two bone-headed things before becoming adults (wow that was a long time ago ) and it is very possible that some kids are carrying records of some kind. If I am not mistaken, just as in Canada, even a misdemeanor can mean no passport. For example some US born players in the Canadian Football league are having to abandon their careers because of minor offences. I just hope it doesn't impact any of the Canadians we already had in mind.
  24. I've seen other troll threads closed for less.
