Wow, I wonder if Coach Troll even saw that one coming. I would say this could be the single biggest loss suffered by any WCHA team as the Pies were going to rely heavily on him for both leadership and scoring.

They were pictures from a recent BBQ In GF that included Oshie, Prpich and a third player (I can't remember who). PCM was there so maybe he has pictures he can share.

Unfortunately attendance of the camp has no impact on what Toews will do this coming season. Some of the players attending the camp will be playing pro hockey this coming fall and depending on the requirments of their Pro teams, could be denied the opportunity to participate in the WJC. I actually prefer the approach that Columbus has taken because in the past many NHL teams have pulled out some of the better Cdn juniors several weeks before the tournament.

That is correct, Columbus wants Brule to be a full time member of their roster.

I am beginning to think that Slappy and Bucky are one and the same person only with dual personalities given that one seems to answer the others question. You have the one personality Slappy who claims that he can ignore everything that a knowledgable Sioux fan posts and then you have clueless Bucky who has to quickly respond to anything that points out the flaws of his beloved Gophers. If you want to say that the 03 Sioux team had as talented and experienced a lineup as the 05/06 Gophers then I guess we should all say thanks Bucky. But we didn't have a number one seed, the expections and, oh yeah , didn't lose to a 16th seed team laden with zero NHL draft picks.

Slappy now that it is solely the Don's team, if he is as a great a coach as you and Bucky preach how could his talent laden team deflate so badly at the most important time of the year.

You forgot to add that this thread was initiated by a troll. If they want to come and spin their yarn here then they deserve the appropriate and correct rebuttal. Perhaps the best solution would be to create a seperate Troll forum on Siouxsports.com. I wouldn't disagree with you on that point and would add that although Buetow assembled the CC teams that the Don did well with, Buetow likely wouldn't have done as well with them. The Don seems to a good coach when he steps in and the talent is in place and stable. However, as a disciplinarian, people person, or someone who keeps a handle on his teams life outside of hockey, well I believe the proof is in the pudding at the end of his CC career and regarding the current problems at UMTC. Let the frothing of the trolls commence.

Sorry I was the one who was has always preached that Toews > One Move. When it comes to EJ even though he is a Dman I would even concede the ROY is his to lose. Go back and do your homework. I must admit this was a great idea on your part. Just put any Sioux fan who knows more about hockey than you do on ignore and you have created your own little Gopher Chat site for free. As for the Don think about this, at both CC and UMTC he had his best seasons with players that had been recruited by the previous staff.

I would have to disagree. The poor old Don has a bad case of "Girls Gone Wild" and in typical Gopher fashion it was swept under the rug. I understand that the rabid Gopher faithful would have likely called for his head if he had benched any of his star players and since it involved many of them he was stuck between a rock and hard place. He is also stuck with many of them as returns along with a problem from a couple of years back that is now too taboo to discuss. His goaltending is still suspect (being generous here) and even the Gopher faithful are wondering if a leader will emerge from the current cancer and raise the Phoenix from the ashes. You can have all the talent in the world but without players that have the required character and play for what is on the front of the Jersey you can expect a rerun of last season.

Mafiaman, never give a poor Gopher the "You can do better than that" challenge. You know how easily they fold under pressure. It is far less cruel to just let him go through life believing that any game his team loses was meaningless.
