  1. See my earlier post on the subject. The Frenchie was Brassard
  2. Don Cherry interviewed five Prospects tonight on Coaches Corner and in order they were Staal, Toews, Brassard, the one move wonder and Johnson. Once again Toews gave a great interview while one move seemed to struggle to push out words. I was waiting for him to conclude by saying "That's all folks".
  3. Too bad I was away for a couple of days and missed out on discussing the WCHA's two biggest sieves, Tweedle-Briggs and Tweedle-Frazzled. Oh how I hope that Briggs is his team's number one goalie this coming season.
  4. Did you also hear how loudly they cheered for the US Anthem as well. Recall that back during the World Juniors I told you that the jerk fans in Vancouver were nothing but a bunch of bunny-kissing tree-huggers. On the CBC feed North Dakota got a plug for producing Matt Greene and he got honorable mention from Ron MacLean for his play this evening.
  5. I am away for two days and the new goalie finally gets revealed. I have no idea how both ends kept it quiet this long. Yes he is only 17 and not even draft eligible however, remember what everyone said about Toews last year. Also this goalie was playing with and against a few 20 year olds and yet he was still his teams MVP in the playoffs. If Eddie says he is the real deal that is good enough for me and I still believe Lammy will have another battle on his hands to be the starter.
  6. If Roloson's injury is serious this series will be won by the Canes in four straight. Conklin is a sieve which is why the Oil went out and got Rollie the Goalie at the trade deadline.
  7. How did you get a copy of my decoder ring.
  8. I guess it will soften the blow of Johnson go direct to the Pros but the Sioux D all know his one move by now anyway.
  9. As I have said before, if the hockey career doesn't work out the one move wonder can replace Goldy and save UMTC the price of a costume.
  10. Poor Bucky, had one of those wishful dreams last night did you. Was it too much cheap pizza or beer before bedtime. Regardless of what you think of the remaining players, that young Sioux D will move the puck much better this season and you will see plenty of goals from the blueline for starters. Pick any returning forward you would like but I would bet that Duncan alone will double his goal total next season The good news for the rest of the WCHA is that Gopher goaltending will be as porous as ever. Next valid topic please.
  11. I am not sure if the athletes get some form of exception but the foreign student office did photocopy my Canadian passport. If the US goes to specail ID cards then no problem for its citizens I guess but the news stories in Canada have lead me to believe that passports will be required for a return to the US. Maybe another Canadian like Canuck has a different view on the subject.
  12. This post is purely speculation on my part but it is an upcoming issue that could free up some US born talent that had planned on going to the Major Juniors. As of next year the US is also going to demand passports of anyone entering the US from Canada. We all know that teenagers typically do at least one or two bone-headed things before becoming adults (wow that was a long time ago ) and it is very possible that some kids are carrying records of some kind. If I am not mistaken, just as in Canada, even a misdemeanor can mean no passport. For example some US born players in the Canadian Football league are having to abandon their careers because of minor offences. I just hope it doesn't impact any of the Canadians we already had in mind.
  13. I've seen other troll threads closed for less.
  14. Goon, when all is said and done regarding this matter, once again everyone will say we should never have doubted the Sioux staffs ability to both coach and recruit players. My only concern about this coming season is that the only trip out east will take place while a third of the regular team is at the World Juniors. Just my luck.
  15. I believe Hak#1 also let us know we were getting cold looking at the NAHL.
  16. Nice try Archie. How many other bogus IDs have you created and posted to over the years. I now realize that you don't have much of a chat in GPL, I guess you don't have much of a personal life either.
  17. How many on average year leave the Sioux each year? How many former Sioux teams had as many elite or first round picks in their lineup. I think you are throwing in the towel a little bit early.
  18. The reality is that any of the top five picks could go professional right away and normally the decision rests in the hands of the teams that pick them. Of course the players will all say I'll be there in the fall because they don't want to burn any bridges with their team or their fans. Unfortunately, players like Michigan's Johnson have become the exception vice the norm. The coaches know this is the case and I am confident that they have some extra prospects in mind and will reveal them to us if and when any departures become a reality.
  19. As long as they are free of snot goblin stains count yourself lucky.
  20. As in the player who has made it as far as the entrance to the Devils dressing room, Door-Matt Demarchi. His game has not changed even in the AHL.
  21. Picking who will go when is a challenge as there are too many uncertainties even on draft day itself. The TSN staff have stated that Pittsburgh is desperate to get Johnson into their lineup and are predicating that the Penguins management won't take a chance and will trade up to get the number one pick. If it winds up being a position change with St Louis it is a strong possibility that they could select Toews with the second pick.
  22. I think he understood and meant to say colder to both.
  23. I have to admit that last week I finally had a look at their GPL site and now I understand why the poor wretches come here. About only one third of the topics/threads have anything to do with college hockey let alone their own team. Most of the topics are also negative and hate filled. So cut them some slack because where else can they go to find knowledgeable fans that will provide them with credible and accurate WCHA info.
  24. Actually, a goaltender rotation or early goaltender departures are no surprise when the Don is involved. You have already seen the unexpected early departure of one UMN goalie and while he was coach at CC the position was more like a revolving door. I am just relieved to hear that he may be keeping the WCHA's favorite sieve instead.
