  1. A minor in the summer isn't a big deal, a team party with potential hazing and underage players ending up in a drunken stupor while school is in session is an infinitely bigger issue.
  2. Please tell me how this.. In anyway refers to how these players may in anyway be potentially charged with any kind of crime, it doesn't even mention that may have potentially committed a crime. I know they were suspended and that isn't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about them getting charged with a Class A Misdemeanor and then having it go unreported for almost two months.
  3. If the football players had done what the softball players did which involved alcohol and maybe hazing the hammer would have gone down very hard.
  4. That article more or less says nothing about the players who were charged in December. It was obvious the underage players were going to get minors. Maybe the Herald is just incompetent maybe they are afraid to say bad things about UND hockey...maybe it is both. A few months ago on this board a Class A Misdemeanor was a major crime and now apparently the Herald can just gloss over those charges that involve UND athletes since they aren't major federal offenses. There is no way they would have mentioned it today if it wasn't brought up by other sources.
  5. I was actually talking about what happened with the NDSU softball team.
  6. If the football players had committed an alcohol related offense of that nature the hammer would have come down as well. Gene is the AD of the entire athletic department, he is involved with both men's and women's sports.
  7. Because they were charged with committing a crime almost two months ago and nothing was said. One player who was charged was never even mentioned in the initial stories. Bisonville and Mike McFeely shouldn't have to force the Herald to do its job. Today the NDSU softball players were charged and guess when that was reported...today.
  8. Well McFeely just called them out, basically a GF media slamfest on KFGO right now.
  9. I'd expect them to report when players are actually charged with some kind of crime, especially when one player charged was never mentioned previously. Ask the AD/coach for his comment and then move on until something else happens. That seems to be standard procedure in Fargo. It appears the GF Herald just forgot anything ever happened after the initial story. Maybe they are just incompetent journalists, I don't know. Following up on what was big story is pretty standard procedure.
  10. You know the reporting is so poor I have hard time knowing just what was going on legally but with that said I have a hard time believing it was for a misdemeanor considering they were not charged until multiple months after they were suspended. They were suspended for violating team rules though, that much was clear from what was reported. And they were charged with the same level misdemeanor as the NDSU football players and one player got two games because he also had another unrelated offense. But I don't really have an issue with how UND responded, my only question would be why one player who was charged was never suspended but like I said before there has been such terrible reporting by the Herald it is hard to know what is going on. I will say again that I don't really have a problem with how UND handled it. My issue is more with the media and how they completely failed to do their jobs. If that had happened in Fargo there is no doubt as soon as the charges were brought on the players it would be front page above the fold.
  11. So is the GF media simply incompetent or completely in bed with UND's athletic department? Five hockey players charged with a Class A Misdemeanor in early December and not one single article or tweet mentioning it.
  12. I don't think he isn't scheduling UND because of a grudge anymore, there is just no point in him locking into a long term home and home series if he doesn't have to. As long as his scheduling methods work I don't see him straying from them.
  13. I'm guessing vs EWU the coaches would have used the coverage scheme they put on Ill State which basically completely shut them down in the second half. NDSU ran a lot of man coverage vs SHSU, NDSU would have ran an entirely different scheme vs EWU.
  14. All words I would use to describe your posts. The FCS is DI, deal with it. All the schools are fully DI, calling them something less for football would be idiotic.

It doesn't, NDSU's best recruiting class came in our 3-8 season and what has been posted here is pretty tame compared to what was going on at Bisonville at that time.
  16. You act like NDSU has never punished a student athlete before, NDSU has punished players both before and after court verdicts. I don't think NDSU knew how to deal with the petition fiasco, it isn't like a player getting a DUI or a drug charge...it's more complicated. I'm sure if NDSU could do it all over again things would have been handled differently.
  17. Well one player was suspended. I do find this thread a bit odd, both schools have had student athletes screw up in the past and both will have student athletes that will screw up in the future. Not sure why both sides continue to lob stones at each other while sitting in their glass houses.
  18. Not sure, that is one job that I thought made sense but sometimes these programs just want more high profile names.
  19. How many FCS coaches have gotten a BCS job? Tressel and.....
  20. Only thing that has kept him here this long is his refusal take anything less than a BCS level job. Seemed like the only job he really wanted was Minnesota, amazing how stupid they were to take Brewster over Bohl.
  21. Sure you can say he cost the team that game but he has helped win other games. The team isn't wining in spite of him, he is making plays and winning games. He is more like Tebow than Ponder at this point.
  22. Vraa is actually pretty good if he can stay healthy, that said Jensen is always locked in on Smith.
  23. Game was sold out...might have been a few visitors tickets that Wofford didn't use but all the other tickets were accounted for. For some reason the capacity of the dome is smaller for playoff games..I think it has to do with who is counted and who isn't.
  24. Well that was certainly the case with Babich....
