I am just not comfortable leaving it completely in the hands of the committee. Again, working with limited info here so probably a discussion for another day I suppose.
-
Honoring the Schedule is great of course, but no access to the auto bid would be seriously detrimental IMO.........
-
At least we saved women's hockey.
-
I know this is probably early on, and we are working with very little info, but they wouldn't effectively force the football program to play as an independent for two seasons right?
-
*Hand raised. Pick me, pick me!
-
So can someone translate the timeline for me? It says Big Sky would honor football schedules through 2019, but we would not be eligible for conference titles. Does that mean we could potentially not be allowed to receive the auto bid for two years?

Yay. Trips to places like Greeley every single week. All just to placate this morbid obsession with NDSU that so many North Dakota stakeholders have. Looks like a tremendous opportunity will be lost. #FollowTheLeader #ThinkSmallBeSmall Ok, done venting now. I know, don't post while angry.

Well !@#$.......

Former President Kelley is in the house. Anybody want me to give him a message? Or maybe a bill for the hole he put the university in?

There are hundreds of thousands of people in Midcos footprint that can't access their programming either though. You don't need the sports pack from DirecTV to get the Big Sky games that are on Root. They are also on Audience which appears to be available on even the most basic DirecTV package. Both networks are owned by DirecTV. At any rate, it would be ideal if Midco could somehow get on one of the satellite providers' sports tier. I miss being able to watch stuff like UND Sports Extra on TV. I do think it is pretty lame that Root games can't be streamed, and also lame that conference football games can't be put on FCS.
-
Me too. I would guess just as many people in North Dakota have access to Root via DirecTV and Dish as do like that have access to Midco. Now their game selections, that is another story.

I wasn't necessarily expecting UND to be in this poll, but was hoping there was an outside shot at landing at #10. What this poll says to me is that name recognition and winning percentage are what appear to be most important to this committee. North Dakota actually has a better SOS than 4 of these teams. Every team in this poll is either in first or second place in their league with the exception of Richmond. If there is such a thing as "Southern" bias, this poll is evidence of it. It appears UND doesn't yet have the pedigree needed to be given the benefit of the doubt by this committee. Just need to win these last two and leave it out of their hands.

I don't think the kicking game is going to be an issue. At altitude I think Taubenheim will be putting it in the endzone all day like he did in Pocatello. Weather looks like it is going to be pretty decent. UNC is 11th in the conference in kick returns. Kick coverage was really bad against Weber, but they have one of the best return units in the conference. Totally different scenario this week IMO. I expect a competitive game, especially with the questions surrounding Studsrud's status, but still a game i think we will win by 10 points or more. Although we are fairly evenly matched in several areas, the Bears' pass defense looks really vulnerable. Either Studsrud or Bartels can have a big day against them. It seems like their passing game can be explosive at times. However even though our secondary gets criticized often, we are actually #4 in the league in pass defense, #1 in pass defense efficiency, and #1 in the nation in interceptions. I'm also encouraged by how our D-Line may match up against their O-Line in passing situations. A lot of potential sacks there. North Dakota 30 Northern Colorado 20

Isnt' that actually what they do in Greeley? To make being there more tolerable?
-
Good thing we are not in the Summit League or we would not have any DI non conference games in the Sioux Center.
-
Let's just win these last two games and get a seed!

I prefer the night games as well and would think most younger people would also. Many people work on Saturdays too, so the early starts prevent those people from attending too. The 1:00 start time blows the entire day for anyone that plans on attending, especially if they are driving in from any distance. I will say though that the 1:00 should be a small advantage when playing some Big Sky schools, especially the ones from the pacific time zone.
