Yes, North Dakota is very lucky that we don't have to endure the "gauntlet" of imposing opponents that the Griz are facing this year............... I know, two consecutive bye weeks before the first playoff game at the Alerus on Dec 3 isn't necessarily ideal. Would rather just have the first round playoff bye instead of two in a row.

Maybe after UND has been in the building for, oh I don't know, say 15 years, they will finally have it down. Seriously the intro and stuff was better this weekend than it was for the opener, so that is good. Just frustrating that the Alerus has struggled with this kind of stuff when it is done so well a few blocks away at REA,

I am liking the development that Mercer seems to be making at wideout. He may not be blazing fast, but it seems he maybe has a half a gear faster than the other guys. Great compliment to Toivonen, Wanzek, and Stanley.

Hawk screech is a keeper...........

Don't forget it is also "Duck-tober". Hunting always seems to get in the way of football games. I missed the last game due to harvest, looking forward to this weekend and the rest of the season. I also expect there to be a home game or two in December!

We have the Potato Bowl. Why is there no Sugar Beet Bowl? I would much rather eat a spoonful of sugar than a spoonful of mashed potatoes. I have to think the worlds largest sugar feed would do better than the worlds largest french fry feed. I am confident that more sugar would lead to more butts in the seats.......

It is has already been announced that Women's Hockey is safe from being cut from the Athletic Department, but I would like to see what SiouxSports.com feels about it overall. I am in favor of dropping the sport.

President Kennedy Message on Athletics

This is one of the best ideas I have heard! What a novel concept! Invest in a sport that is actually entertaining to watch and has the potential to draw fans.- 2,150 replies

President Kennedy Message on Athletics
bincitysioux replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Other Sports
Sure the process is unfortunate, but not real sure what people are looking for here. Schafer was heavily criticized for abruptly dropping sports with little to no apparent input from the university community, at least publicly. Now Kennedy is being heavily criticized for apparently being too inclusive. It's too bad but it is what is is. Either way teams are going to be cut and feelings are going to be hurt. I am quite confident that if Kennedy had done this on his own without the IAC, Brad and Tom would still be throwing him under the bus. To me the biggest travesty about this whole process is the fact that the women's hockey program didn't have to be at the meeting last night to pitch their program.........- 2,150 replies

For me personally in no particular order: Stability. 5 of the 6 founding members of the Big Sky are members of the conference today. The institutions: Particularly Montana, Montana St., Weber St., Idaho, and UC Davis. We will always be peers/have relationships with NDSU, USD, and SDSU due to history and location. Not so much with the other schools. Location: Many Big Sky locations are near large concentrations of UND Alumni, which helps for fundraising. Personally as someone who likes to travel to away games, it is much more enjoyable traveling to many Big Sky locales than it is to places like Macomb, Illinois and such. Scheduling: I love the fact that we can schedule former NCC schools for non-confenence games and are guaranteed games against quality names like the Montanas, Weber, etc........ Conference Continuity: The fewer conferences the better. It isn't ideal to have one league for mens hockey, another for womens hockey, another for football, and another for basketball. Hard to build rivalries Tom Douple: Hammersmith is right, I can't stand that guy.

Reyes sure does get hurt often......

Is it about time that Coach Rudolph's title be changed to "Master of Offense" yet? Or maybe just fire him.

Stockwell continues to lead the team in personal fouls on the season.......

Agree. Opportunistic too. Already more interceptions in 4 games this season than any entire prior year since 2012. Just need two more picks to surpass that year...... The front 7 has been fun to watch since Bubba got here. Now that secondary is rising to the occasion as well.
-
It wasn't real pretty offensively, but it was a win and that is what matters. There is plenty of room for improvement all over the field, but in the grand scheme of things this team has won two in a row, 5 of their last 7, and is in first place in the Big Sky conference. Everything it wants to accomplish is still there in front of them. Bring on Cal Poly.

It is 38-35 in the 4th at the UM-CP game and it looks like half the stadium has cleared out. At least the side that shows on TV, which is the side the students sit on......

Oliviera is having a nice game, keep feeding g him....

Nice to see UND defense forcing turnovers this season like back in the day. That's been lacking in recent years.

Need to leave Noeberg in to block the rest of the way.....
