Pretty sure we established it is going to be a long and difficult season. Nothing changed in the past two weeks except that 2 players quit (Carr and Rogers) and 3-4 more are hurt and probably not playing. The team sure as hell didn't get better this week. Sidenote: if walk-on juco Aaron Rogers had not quit right before the first game, he would be starting tomorrow. Sometimes its best not to overreact to an initial depth chart.

South Dakota Coyotes 2012 record in Joe Glenn's first year = 1-10. They were 6-5 the year before. He played his guys and implemented his system. Record be damned. Last year they were 4-8. P.S. - I am not saying I want UND to be like USD or lose 10 games. I am just giving a very similar comparison about what happens sometimes in year one after a coaching change.

You seriously asked after one game if we should "continue our philosophy of establishing the run"? Are they building for the future or trying to squeak out a game or two anyway they can, Mussman style? The current players (see OL) are not the only one's that are going to be running this system. It needs to be implemented and taught the same year after year. There are going to be a sh*t load of 2nd and 9's and 3rd and 7's this year. Get used to it.

The new staff has coached one game with the new offense and defense. ONE. They aren't changing a thing.

We knew the coaches would have to change the culture of the team and weed some out but for guys to quit because they were not in the initial depth chart is very weak, IMO. As a former coach used to say: "some of these guys need to visit the Wizard".

That is not why he was suspended. It was an academic issue.

He should go run track somewhere. He does not have the mentality of a football player.

Only getting $125,000 for the first game is questionable, IMO.

Did Ferris State spend around $5,000 total to travel down on the day of? No, they spent 100K on a charter and maybe made $75K total. UND will clear $170,000 (roughly) in this deal, which is more than they will clear by flying all the way to San Jose State, or Fresno, or Idaho.

Grow up and look a little deeper into the issue. The reason why UND would even agree to this is because of how standoffish RT was in 2003. Time for UND to help bury the hatchet and play them down there. And make a nice chunk of change in the process.

Not sure what that has to do with my post but whatever. Point is be consistent about offer amounts if that is what concerns you. To me it really isn't that big of a deal since they are usually fairly close in amounts. Believe it or not, NDSU does offer MORE than other schools to some of their recruits.

Funny how Bison fans, including SamsRams, haven't mentioned that NDSU offered Brooks 25% more than UND did. They are are so obsessed with the partial vs. full thing.

Those deals take time to coordinate and negotiate. Plus all the gear and uniforms need to then be produced. From what I heard it will be worked on this year in time for 2015.

UND obviously loses way more players than they are getting vs. NDSU. That needs to change for them to turn it around. Getting more ND kids will be a good start. Then, hopefully they can win more games and slowly reach some more players. Going to a long road but hopefully the coaches can turn it around.

^^^^ SamsRams/Bisonation guy just cannot help himself. He had to go out of his way to explain every factor possible that led Grady to choose UND. They just won three national championships and he is that paranoid about losing one recruit to UND - sad he had to go that far in his explanation. Probably drives a big truck, too. The fact is UND offered a full and NDSU offered 80%. So UND offered around $15,000 (roughly) and then NDSU offered $12,000. Well worth the $3,000 to get his verbal. Kid is going to be a stud.

Don't think beating teams 66-0 will be an issue this year. Robert Morris is not a bad team, they have won the NEC a few times in the past. The fans should have every reason to stay and see a full game this year.

You're pretty much making my point. They are starting over, from "scratch", with all new ingredients. If the coaches liked what they had, they would not be bringing in all these players. Which means they are hitting the reset button.

Except Bubba had much better players to work with at SIU. Not exactly starting from scratch at UND, but not far from it.

Because they have invited the highest ranked players on their recruiting lists. Obviously not all could make it but the point is to get as many of them together as possible. The rest are more than likely local kids that want to get noticed or just attend a UND football camp. Not that big of a deal.

I am so glad we can move on from some of those guys. They would not have lasted one semester under Bubba.

You should compile all the names of Canadian players we have offered or are recruiting and send them down to the Fargodome and save them the time of sniffing our coaches twitter accounts.
