But, shouldn't an NDSU partial trump a UND full-ride?
-
I don't think your right about those offers. Wrong guy maybe.
-
More than likely since there are only so many recruits. Recruiting is fun stuff!
-
A little birdie told me that NDSU just offered Develyn Ferguson a full scholly. He turned them down. Also heard they upped their offer on Elsner too. Good to know people in WI right now. There are a bunch of battles going on and I love it. This staff is fighting to the end on all their offerees.
-
I sure hope not. Yuck. How many 15 yard personal fouls did Wade get this year?
-
I have heard through the grapevine that some of the early offerees were not followed up on for obvious reasons. The change in staff brought new outlooks on what they need and they couldn't possibly honor all those offers. So when we see kids that we have not heard anything about for along time opting for other schools, more than likely it was because UND never talked to them again after mid-November. On the other hand, there have been a fair amount of kids that we have seen offered through twitter that decided on other schools. Those kids were more than likely the new targets.

Kotelnicki obviously made the right decision. A tough one I am sure, but the right one. That would have been aakward.

Gotta say that Carter has been taught how to play DB quite well. Unbelievable fundamentals for a high school corner.
-
Who are Hudson, Walton, and Reid?
-
Exactly. You have to petition to move on, its not a rule that you can just move on without sitting out a year. Have to petition the NCAA. They turn down just as many as they accept.
-
Right. Put Jensen on UNDs team - is he even all-conference ever in his career? Or mentioned by anybody as a good QB? Same reason Wentz is going to instantly be this great successful QB...OL play and running the ball down everyones throat. Oh, and the best defense in the country
-
Another goalie "stood on his head" vs. UND. No "puck luck" or any "greasy goals" either.
-
When did it change?
-
Don't think that rule applies to D1 Basketball.
-
Very good point. There were zero FCS programs recruiting the ND players of the 80's and 90's. It was D2 country. So what happened back then? Players that got passed over by UND/NDSU and ended up going to Mary or Dickinson State, etc. Same scenario.

If by philosophy you mean "not offering because nobody else did"? My answer is that is what WE think on the Siouxsports. How does anybody really know why the staff did not offer him. If they liked him they would have offered at least PWO, right? Other offers or lack thereof don't necessarily mean a kid cannot get a PWO from a school. They certainly affect whether UND offers money. Why overpay when you don't have to? For them not to offer him a PWO is telling me they do not have him high enough on their board and are thinking they are going to get 1-2 of their Top 3 QB's. Could be wrong but that is what I read from it.
-
That's right we will. And their recruiting of the QB position is kind of tipping their hand. I still don't understand why you two continue to preach about how they should have recruited Wilkie when nobody else has. The UND staff is apparently completely missing the boat on the kid - so why aren't you ripping on NDSU, SDSU, UNI, USD, UMD, MSU, and SCSU then as well? They must be blind to his talents also.
-
What if, by chance, they happen to be installing an offense that incorporates the QB as part of the running game? Such as operating out of the pistol 25-50% of the game and running QB power or read option at times, like many teams do these days.
-
No other FCS schools offered him. They didn't even offer him a PWO. Duluth didn't offer him. Mankato didn't either. But somehow, UND was supposed to offer him a scholarship based on what? He is a good QB, highlights show that. But he cannot run and would not be able to play another position. That is a big part of recruiting a QB who you are not sure about.
-
To me this pretty much validates UNDs decision not to offer him.
-
Are we the only one recruiting these kids? If so great. Also, we cannot offer ever single player in the state that has another FCS offer. Also, ND and SD do not have 10 impact players a year (that UND can get). They might have 10 total between them and then the battle begins with UND, NDSU, SDSU, and USD.
-
Granted they can turn it around, and past history has shown they can, but as it sits right now I would have to rank this up there as one of the worst coaching jobs I have ever seen. Jones has his entire team back and they look worse this year than last year. They don't have an offense. They have a pick and roll. That's it. Then they all look at each other. It's bordering on embarrassing how bad they look considering how good they were supposed to be. But, like I said, they have alot of time to turn it around but should a team of this many seniors need three months to turn it around?
-
If you think 70% of our roster, or 66 players, are going to come from ND, SD, and MN then you better get ready to see a hell of a lot of losses. They could do it but the rest of the 30 players or so better be difference makers.

We WERE running all over the country. Sit tight.

No & No.
