  1. Bingo, 100% this is Standing Rock "sticking it to Whitey".
  2. Was easily their best Dman last year. Looks great in ND High School hockey but I think he will have to prove himself in Juniors for at least one year for the Sioux to even consider him.
  3. What? He didn't want to come back and coach in the Summit???
  4. Yeah, I'm guessing BC is real thankful they didn't have to play the Sioux. Puulleeaze, BC would have destroyed the Sioux. The Sioux don't come to play in tournaments, which is a fact that won't change until Hak figures out how to prepare them better.
  5. I wonder why. Finley was always a project, as should be expected anytime you have a 6'7" guy playing hockey. Lee was solid but never lived up to the hype while here. I would take Macwilliam, Blood, Marto, Gleason, and Finehage right now, over either of those two guys at any point in their career.
  6. I tend to agree with you. In my opinion, Lapoint is a solid, but unspectucular player. What you see is what you are gonna get, not much more upside. I think if given the same amount of playing time, Finehage can perform just as good and has a higher upside due to his ability to play physical.
  7. Yale probably did UND a favor. Even if UND had squeaked out a win against Yale, it appears that BC would have hung another 6-1 on UND.
  8. Lamoureux will not have to worry about sitting next year at all. I also think that Bruneteau started to come around at the end of this year. I do agree though that guys like Rowney, Toews, and Cichy will be hard pressed for ice time next year unless something drastic changes.
  9. Sustain a quality program? Heck, how about just having a few good years. NDSU had a nice little run but that is gone. UND has......does UND even still have a men's team?
  10. It at least shows that he is capable of winning one. If people want to pat Hak on the back for all these late season surges, he also deserves criticism for all the late late season choke jobs.
  11. Dave Hakstol is still one of the best coaches in all of NCAA hockey.........during the regular season.
  12. Kind of like the first 2 periods?
  13. Cough cough Bring Blais back now before Minny gets him.
  14. In case anyone was missing Finley, looks like Blood is trying to pick up the slack this year.....
  15. It's time for a national championship. Doug Woog made the tournament almost every year......Dean Blais won championships.
  16. If that bracket holds, Wisconsin can sleepwalk to the Frozen Four....what a cake walk.
  17. It's there, it's already losing money when creative accounting isn't used. Maybe I am in the minority, but the fact that this thing will lose money is a given, it might as well actually bring in some events that people care about. I really think people wouldn't be quite so upset at the place losing money if it was rocking with a quality concert every month or two. I don't care if it breaks even by just doing stupid fishing conventions and wedding receptions, those could be held at the old civic auditorium.
  18. This is getting ridiculous.....Simon and Garfunkel coming to Fargodome May 7....so within the next few months the dome is getting Bon Jovi, Jon Mayer, Simon and Garfunkel, Carrie Underwood, and the Alerus Center is getting......................... And they keep asking for more and more money...for what??
  19. Yep, and all those dominant Fargo Flyers kids are the same kids that lost to Williston yesterday....maybe not so dominant. Every year, Grand Forks has two Bantam A teams that are right with the Flyers. Also, as far as North being deep, deep is only good if it is deep quality, North must be considered an afterthought until they actually prove something. I do agree with you on West Fargo, with their numbers they should be consistently good rather than just make State once every 10 years...must be a coaching/program thing. It is no secret the difference between Grand Forks and Fargo hockey, Fargo South to be particular. In Grand Forks, every kid gets a legitimate chance to play for teams through the Bantam level. Grand Forks routinely has 2 Bantam A teams, and three Bantam B teams (well, recently they have been rolling with 2 B teams and a A2 team, which is a best of the B's type of team). Yes some of these kids are A all the way through, but there also are alot of B kids that are able to make the jump to A. Fargo South/Flyers start out at the early youth level with lots of teams, but by the time they hit Bantams, they are down to one Bantam A and one Bantam B. Why? Because the A players are so set in stone at such a young age, that parents/players get disgruntled and they drop out of the Flyers system. When even a few of those Flyers A kids hit their plateau, then there are no "Late Bloomer" kids behind them to take their spot since they quit years back.
  20. Fargo South can kiss goodbye to any chance at a state title for the foreseeable future. With the 3rd high school opening up, Fargo will have three Fargo North caliber teams.
  21. You can never count a Hakstol team out until they run into a Hockey East squad in the playoffs.
  22. Maybe Joe Finley was on the jury. Seriously, it almost has to be an illegal stop type of situation. Maybe one of the lawyers on this site can chime in. But it doesn't sound like anyone disputed the over .08 reading.
  23. It's not just a Dean Blais thing. The longer the Sioux hold on to this clown Hakstol, the longer they will be "usually good, but never great". Lucia will get fired after this year or next at the latest, everyone knows that the world's worst kept secret is Blais is next in line for the Gopher job. Blais will bring in guys like Steve Johnson, Brad Berry, or other former Sioux players that would make excellent Sioux coaches. So the longer they wait, they are not just missing out on the best choice (Blais) they are missing out on choices 2 and 3 too.
