Wait a minute. You don't really want to confuse folks with facts do you?
-
No, he would have dealt with it face to face, man to man. Security had to take the sign, but they should have let the students stay. Mild distraction from a great hockey game
-
He is doing well. Should be ready for summer workouts. Might be fine before end of spring ball but Therenis need to come back too soon . He spent a lot of time in film room last summer with Rudolph. I would expect same this summer and I would think he will be throwing before school is out. So far so good.

Another prospect is Jon Richards kid from Detroit Lakes. Great kid great speed. Led a very good DL team to section semis. DL had one point loss to Warroad earlier in yr and got beat by EGF in section semis by a goal. That was no fluke. Kid scored over 60 pts and can skate with any of these kids. Only a junior. Still developing physically and will need a yr or two of juniors after hs.
-
Kid needs to finish HS at Devils Lake. Then play juniors one or two years. The college coaches know who he is and where he is. Going to UND's summer camp (or other college camps) is the best exposure. Coaches get a closer look at who the kid is, his practice habits, leadership skills etc. Too many kids get sidetracked by misconceptions that they won't be discovered in their hometowns. They don't need to quit FB or soccer to play hockey in the fall and they don't need to leave hs to play juniors, before they graduate. In fact if they quit other sports to focus on just hockey the Mayo clinic researchers stated in November 2014 single sport athletes tend to peak at age 16-17 as opposed to age 20-22 for the kids who do multiple sports. Those kids also have more injuries. In case some of the beer league hockey guys think the Mayo Sports Med folks don't understand hockey, the dept. chair is Dr. Michael Stuart whose 3 sons played college and NHL hockey. Kid is a prospect and needs time to mature. If we want hs hockey to prosper let these kids grow emotionally, and socially with the kids who have been their teammates since mites and helped them get there.

Dixon Bowen scored 2 goals.
-
EGF 3 -2.
-
EGF still leads DL end of 2.
-
Dixon Bowen scores to give EGF 3-2 lead.
-
Detroit Lakes and East Grand Forks tied 2-2 near end of first period section 8 semis.

Good thing you aren't playing then. That would be no better than MBB last year when we beat the AC by 20 and didnt get to the playoffs. We should always be worried about the next game obviously, but we need to make the playoffs and next year is doable. We are playing the AC cuz Bubba wanted to play them. We better be ready to compete. We competed in most games last year and got blown out in a couple. If we are moving forward we start winning the close ones and we don't get blown out by anybody. If Mollberg is healthy we win at least 7 or 8 next fall maybe more and have a legit shot at playoffs. There isn't a team in Big Sky we can't compete with. Wyoming and the AC will be tough but if the defense improves we can be in those games. If we are in those games in the fourth quarter anything can happen. The AC rivalry just isn't the big deal it was 20 yrs ago. It will take time. We need to quit worrying about the AC and take care of what we can control. Still have a way to go and hopefully we will make the necessary improvement to be successful.

I agree that Studsrud hasn't shown he is ready but it isn't fair to judge based on last fall. I think Gundy is correct in predicting Studsrud over Bartels but that is more cuz the coaches seem to prefer his athleticism. I would choose Bartels until Studsrud shows he is ready. He needs to complete more than 33% of his passes for cripes sake and he needs to earn the starting job. With Mollberg out this spring he will have the opportunity. I would hate to lose Bartels. I understand he has a girlfriend which may help us keep him. I would love to watch film of last year with you so you could show me how Bartels was a better QB than Mollberg, It is really a moot point until Joe is healthy. There is no reason to think he won't be ready for summer workouts. In the meantime we are fortunate to have a guy with Bartels experience who has had some success. I understand Bubba's wish to run the ball but we also need to throw. If Mollberg is healthy I will wager he will be all conference before he is done.

I was told by Bismarck fan he thought Feeney wanted to play FB. Big time arm and potentialy big time baseball player. Need to recruit him as if fb is his first love until he says otherwise. Didn't play last year so need to get him to camp but certainly one of top QB prospects in region.
-
Many over the years. Kleinsasser played BB his freshman year. Usually guys do FB and track. Been awhile since we have had bb or baseball and fb playe. We had 3 played fb and baseball but that was quite awhile ago. Rick Wilson who had nice NHL career played fb and hockey if I recall. That was before when we weren't a hockey school or fb school but we were the University of North Dakota and we could get to class and still support our athletic teams even when they had down years. Hockey players went to the fb games and fb players went to BB and hockey. Fans attended all.

Dalton Feeney, 6'4" QB Bismarck Century should be on the list. Had great Soph yr and missed last year due to foot inj. Healthy now and playing BB for Century. He also plays baseball and is projected as potential draft choice. Reportedly throws 90 mph last year. Kids a great athlete. Dad, Steve, played at UND. Grandfather was FB coach at Bismarck High and uncle played at Ag School.

This is a very good class and that includes the PWO's. The four Canadian kids all have great upside. There isn't a top 5. This is a solid class with kids who have the potential to be very good at this level. The PWO's have nice upside. A lot of the kids in this signing class can play multiple positions and either side of the ball. That philosophy was used in past when 3-4 yrs after high school there were a lot of multiple sport athletes who had great upside and developed into very college players at positions other than what they played in high school. Sioux fb took big step with this group and this years transfers. Nice job by Bubba and staff.
-
This kid is an FBS talent and a good kid and good student. He and Johannson the Fargo RB were best of N. Dak. kids.
-
I assume you are kidding but that isn't true.
-
That is Bullcrap. There are always guys who aren't starting or playing who complain but as a team these guys like the direction the team is headed and respect what Bubba and staff are doing. There are also usually an assistant coach or 2 that some of the kids don't like but haven't heard this is an issue.

I think We are bringing together a very nice class. I wouldn't worry about the Ag School cuz we need to worry about ourselves. For what it is worth they have another strong class. They should, they are 4peats. So we got a couple this year they wanted. Doesn't matter as long as we get good kids. We want to get the area kids but those are also the kids most familiar with the AC recent success. I am not sure what the issue is with JC transfers or FBS transfers. Same as whether or not kids come from a bif school or small school If the kid can play, he can play. A big slow guy can excel against weaker competition so you always need to evaluate his foot quickness and athletic ability. When I saw the Ellefson kid play BB as a Soph I sent his name to Mussman's staff and sent his name to Bubba's staff a year ago. Although we never got around to offering him, he is a kid I would put down as one we lost to the ag school. He is 6' 2" and has great quickness and athletic ability. I would play him at LB and I think he will be every bit as good as Travis Beck. I would agree the Johansson kid was the top recruit in the area I think the Grady kid was next. Time will tell. The other area kids will need to deelop and a lot will depend on there work ethic and character and maturity. The Canadian kids are very good recruits and the Ag School offered one of them for those who like to compare. As far as PWO's, Schobert was a PWO for us and later for the Badgers. A scholarship would have landed him. The Hegg kid from the Ag School who I think will play in the NFL was a PWO. There are plenty of kids out there, who both school miss on and these are just two who will likely have NFL careers. Recruiting is a tough game. IT isn't just size and speed, but intelligence, Physical and emotional maturity, foot speed and the character of the kids. This years class is a very good one and for what it is worth, a very good one for the Ag school Whether or not one is better than the other doesn't matter. What mattes is what happens on the FB field next fall.

Bartels should be back to normal. Mollberg out of his cast and rehabing. He might be ready for spring ball be shouldn't risk it. Simmons apparently still having trouble with his shoulder.

No sense in listening to Brady who will tell you he is lucky to have Belichick. They have benefitted from each other. Anyone who doesn't recognize Belichick as an excellent coach I don't believe is being objective. I'm not a Patriots fan but the guy is a good coach with or without Brady. Every successful coach has great players. They are able to get the most out of them and make the good ones play their roles and as a team become great. Belichick has done that.

What difference does it make? Hockey is a big deal to some folks and not to others. Who cares? FCS FB is a bid deal to some folks and not to others. Who cares? Neither are a big deal to most people. FBS, NFL, NHL, mean nothing to the very vast majority of people in the world. Who cares? If any of these sports are such a big deal that you would get upset cuz someone else doesn't think you are cool or your status in life is better cuz your hockey team wins a national title or FCS team wins 4 titles, than you are a sorry ass SOB and need to get a frickin life. Have fun with it and have fun with your family and friends but in the long run if it is any more important to you than that as a fan then your priorities are screwed up. This thread is entertaining to a point but then one has to feel sorry for folks who didn't play and have to live vicariously through the success of others. This same commentary could go on the fire Hak thread too I guess.

They couldn't do much worse than they have been. Epstein will likely do more for the Cubs than the name. It already is start over time for us with our name and the sooner we move on, the better.

Just like Hak did a lot of the recruiting for Blais. Hak is an excellent coach. Fans need to keep pressure on. Hak and the program to win the next title . He will do it. There is a reason he has earned the respect of his peers and the entire NHL community for his talents. He has this team playing well and we are again one of the top teams in the country. Amazing we have rubes calling for his head. Likely the same folks pressuring their local school boards to get a new coach cuz their kid doesn't get enough playing time. My expectations for the program is an annual trip to the frozen four and at least 2 more national titles in the next 8yrs. I think we have the coaching staff in place to accomplish this.
