A couple of things I noted last night. The Sioux came out fast and sharp. Their passes for the most part were stick to stick. They aggressively brought the puck out of our zone and certainly played with BU the whole game except for the second have of first, the second and the parts of third when we dominated the play. Our kids busted the asses all night. Even after the fans quit, the team didn't. That is one of the key things in evaluating a coach. These kids never quit. When Zane wasn't having his best game, no one on the team did anything but play harder. The penalty on Poolman where he barely hit the BU guy was bogus. It led to a power play goal. These kids were well prepared. Dumped the puck when they needed to, tried to bring I across blue line when they could. I realize some of you experts who played 4th line on your Bantam B team when you were 10th graders think a coaching change should be made but if so, it isn't cuz we were out coached or not ready. A number of you geniuses whine when anyone sticks up for this coach or staff. The only reply is that anyone who disagrees with you or dares criticize is a Hak lover or doesn't want a "natty". One of you even suggested he isn't flexible or he is too business like or he should tell the guys to just have fun. You know what goes on cuz your friend had a beer with someone who knows . "I want to win one". This " fan base settles" for less than a title cuz they won't fire the coach. "I will never accept it". One insinuates Hak needs more time to figure it out. Listen Sparkies, none of you geniuses have ever once explained how your esteemed opinions of a subject you have demonstrated you know little about cuz you have never been in the locker room means more than the opinions of all the players present and former who have played for Hak, and Dean, guys in the NHL and minors, guys coaching in college and the pros. Every single one of those guys to a person understand what it takes to get to the college level and play for championships and they have nothing but respect for Hakstol. They think you guys are douchebags. I believe if I read correctly one of you were smart enough to inadvertently admit it in a previous post. I doubt that other than your game for 4th place in your PeeWee B tourney that you have had to buckle up and lay it on the line. If you did you might have some insight on the leadership and coaching talent it took to keep this team from giving up when we were down 4-1. Our self proclaimed best fans in the world quit on this team but the coaches and players didn't quit. That's what you look for in a coach. He and is staff recruit the mentor, they teach and they win. The National Title will come. I've been watching them for 45 years. Wg have the staff in place to get this done. This isn't about you and your life should be no different today than yesterday. It would have been great to see the guys and their coaches rewarded for their hard work and effort. What we get is to say we support the team that played and they are the ones who won or lost. You guys didn't lose squat and you wouldn't have won squat. The coaches and players win and lose. Lastly I'll comment about a couple of fans. One couple with their baby girl drove to MSP to fly out of their when the flights out of Fargo were delayed and canceled. Another chartered a private jet and then let other Sioux fans ride along in the other seats. They would not take any money to help pay. Another despite a traumatic brain injury that kept him hospitalized for months flew in by himself cuz he couldn't make last years when he lay comatose for 11 days fighting for his life. These folks and the majority are Sioux fans who appreciated the effort and excellent play and coaching of this team. We expect to win National titles. If the team and coaches stop putting forth their best effort and can't be competitive then the former coaches, former players and fans who have an understanding of the pride and effort these kids and staff have put forth on behalf or all of us fans, our University, the state of North Dakota will affect the necessary changes. You geniuses that have never had to "knock on wood", or face a bullet or make a save or shot in front of 20,000 people can then take credit and say you knew it all along. You don't need to be a Hak lover to see, this was a well coached team and they had a great year. We has fans had the opportunity to come along for the ride. Go Sioux.

You don't have a clue what it takes. The REA isn't enough. Gino, Dean and Hak have also had to put up with fans who think cuz they played 4th line on their Bantam B team they should get to sit and drink beer with them and listen to the dumb ass things they slur after 13 beers.

I'll start here cuz same applies to a number of you guys. You can't "win one, you don't play"

Looks like at least 15 for 6am flight out of Fargo on American. Anyone need ticket upper deck send PM. I'll check when I get to Boston. Face value for Sioux fan. Thursday and Sat if we win. Can coordinate in Boston. I'm at Hilton Fanuiel but need to pick ticket at arena from UND staff.

Not "sticking up for admin" but how do you know UND could have gotten more tix? You are right, there are ways to secure more tix. Go to the NCAA site and they connect you with their broker or go to stub hub. In the past I know previous administrators stated they tried to get more from the NCAA and couldn't. I'm not aware of others getting more than 2 tix. My friend who is 50 on the Champions list only got 2. I'm in the low 90's and could only get 2 in the upper bowl and for Thursday only. People need to write not only to the NCAA but also a social media blitz and include ESPN and Boston Chamber of Commerce. People from all over the country come to Boston and spend at least hundreds and in most cases thousands to get their and now can't get to the final. I don't think they have done this before and they need to hear from fans. Hockey fans want to see the final even when their team doesn't make it. Same as Final Four. I wonder if they pulled this cramp for BB this year. This is first of recent 6 Frozen Fours I haven't been able to get 4 lower bowl tix through UND. I have heard others state same.

This is such a stupid thread these are both great coaches no matter what the guys who played Pee Wee hockey think. They are both going to still be great coaches at the end of the month no matter who wins the F4. Doesn't make them a better coach. These guys were and are both respected by the UND players, the NHL scouts and the so called experts. Simple as that. They have proved themselves to those that matter and have nothing more to prove. I like them both and have found both easy to talk to. They are both part of the Sioux family. Go Sioux.

I'm not defending Jones but we need to take players where ever they come from. We certainly want to build our programs with hs kids but we can't be picky. We will take some marginal kids but we better have a program in place for all of our athletes to help them academically and to adjust to the expectations of playing at this level at the same time maintaining grades and academic progress. Most D1 schools have the staff whose sole purpose is to mentor these kids socially and academically so we don't lose kids. For kids who may learn they don't have the talent, we help them get their degree and stay in school.

Was told charter is full. Booked out of Fargo Thursday am. Flights were $571. Lots of excellent hotels in area for $200-250. Can get better deals if you stay further out or aren't picky about room. Prices on flights were changing every 30min though. If you share rooms, can beat charter price.

Any team that gets to FF can win it all, don't kid yourself. All it takes is a hot goalie and a lucky bounce. The BU game is the semi nothing more, nothing less.

Great game. Lunch pail blue collar win. Great forechecking and back checking tonight and we stayed out of box. Watched at Buff wild wings in Scottsdale with RSenn and his pals Mike and Dan. Mike Commodore joined us. 11 Sioux fans out cheered the Kentucky and Notre Dame fans at next table. On to Boston.

Sullivan's closed a couple of years ago I was told. Some of us are going to try Buffalo Wild Wings at corner of Promenade and Frank Loyd Wright. Golfing ahead of time but a couple of others are going to try and get their earlier. Most Sports Bars will be busy cuz Arizona plays Wisconsin in BB this afternoon but BWW said they would have Sioux game on. IF Brain K. ever reads these blogs, call your sister in law (CEO of BWW and UND grad) and tell her to have these folks set up a corner for UND fans.

with all due respect if you don't have the guts to call us we are

Conspiracy. UCLA fans are asking same question I'm sure. Who gives a rats behind, we know who we are and as long as we win they can call us late for dinner. -
Lack of discipline like that can cost the game.

If you don't have game you are welcome to join us.

Sullivan's closed. Watching at my daughters.

Naw, players tend to leave it on the ice and respect each other. The fans couldn't take same plane.

That's ok. I have never failed to get the Sioux game on whichever pub I'm at. They get ESPNU at the nursing home here but if I get caught drinking Jameson's again, I don't get to go to exercise where we sit in a circle and kick an over size ball around to the old ladies. One of them doesn't wear any depends and the only other guy at exercise always gets excited and passes out when he looks up her dress. It's great fun so I thought I should drink somewhere else. Oh well, Go Sioux. Tell the boys to forget the burn the ships crap. I'll burn my wheelchair and see you all in Boston!
-
I'll see if I can get a pass from the nursing home. I've got hollow legs on my wheeled walker filled with Jameson's and an automatic pump. It has a little fold down seat so I only need glasses and ice. Where is their park?

I would prefer all 4 Dakota schools were in same conf but I would prefer the Big Sky and a single conf for all sports with those teams. I would not support leaving the Big Sky just to rejoin the Dakotas. I would leave for a new conf with the Dakotas, Montana's, and the best of the Big Sky, or MVFC or the Big10 or whatever they are now called. If we can't afford to travel we need to go back to D2 or drop to NAIA. No excuse for a school that can raise $325,000,000 in a few years to fail to raise the necessary funds for our athletic programs. That includes coaches salaries, facilities and travel.

Why, who gives a rats behind. They hate us when we win, they give us when we we lose. I hope you don't mean what is on their blog would have any influence as to who our hockey coach is. I hate to break the news but even what is on this blog (even gfhockey with all his money) has no influence on who coaches hockey at UND. Too many people on these blogs are rubes like us who probably live in their mothers basement drinking Mountain Dew and getting that orange stuff from their Cheetos all over their keyboards blogging about how we should change coaches cuz they haven't been able buy a new national champ XXXXL t shirt to cover the old one that got pitted out reading the SI swimsuit issue.

I meant 4 time champs. Anyway you and UND-FB-FAN share the opinion of most. There is nothing arrogant stating the past is past. Recognize what others have done and move on. Next years season hasn't even started. They are the "king" of the 2014-2015 season, not yet 2025-2016. Who cares what others wear? 20 years ago you didn't see all of the yellow and green here either. The Bison didn't get where they are by aspiring to get where UND was at that time. They wanted to get beyond that and they were successful. Many of their own supporters opposed their moves. Those were the ones who were more focused on where they had been and how UND was dominating them in FB. They had decision makers who took calculated risks and surpassed where we were. I am still of the opinion we need to quit focusing on them and their fans and pay closer attention to what we are doing and how we get back to championship performance in all sports. I'm not sure all of our decision makers are thinking along that same line. Our administration plans for enrollments of 20,000 in next few years. (I don't see it for 15 yrs) but if that is the case we need to be preparing now to move to whatever level best fits us as the NCAA changes the Div 1 make up. I guarantee you the Ag school decision makers are thinking ahead. By the time, we get to where they are, they will have moved on and some of us will still be frustrated waving a Sioux flag as the yellow and green parade goes by. If we focus on maximizing our own efforts and potential, the competition with them will take care of itself.

They are the 3 time FCS champs and until someone knocks them off they remain the champs. I understand they are very good. I get your point and I believe it is not only valid but shared by the majority of bloggers. I hope we aspire to take this University and the athletic teams beyond what they do at the Ag School. I hope we aspire to much more than a "good showing" against them. My point is that if you want to be like someone else you waste time, resources, and energy when what we should really aspire to is maximizing our own potential. That puts us in a good position to be better than our competition and that includes the AC. I think our staff knows what we need to do to get there. We need time and resources and the right kids who could give a rats behind what they are doing in Fargo cuz we aspire to be National Champions. Don't kid yourself, when we dominated the Ag School, they weren't so noisy, but they don't tend to respect us whether we beat them or not. You are right in that is can be used as a measuring stick but I don't see it as anything more and I don't see it as pivotal.
