My apologies if this has already been posted. I don't recall seeing this version highlight video. It is about 25 minutes long.

St. Cloud State University Reports Enrollment Surge, First Increase Since 2015 Although it is not mentioned, I can't help but wonder if the online presence is the major contributor to the large increase in new students. Or maybe the "It's Time" strategic framework is the online.

I know it was meant in a derogatory way when it was first coined years ago, but I like the Tin Shed or just "The Shed".

I have read on several of the forum boards over the past several days where the NDSU fans are downplaying this loss. Some saying UND just caught NDSU on a down year, others saying that it didn't matter who they lost to, as it was just an NDSU problem. I don't think they are seeing the bigger picture. UND had a very loud sold out Alerus with prospective recruits there. They took the bison down in a way that hadn't been done in a very long time, beating them at their own game. This wasn't just a bison loss, this was an absolute drubbing. The recruits that were brought in for the game were also able to visit one of the most beautiful campuses in the Midwest and see all of the changes to make it even better. I'm sure winning the Ice Breaker tournament against Army and Wisconsin didn't hurt either. NDSU has had a falling enrollment for nine consecutive years, internal issues with women in leadership and now a huge loss to North Dakota. UNI up next. Keep it rolling UND!!

No. Playing basketball at UND does not provide you a leg up. My dad also played at UND and brought me to all the Sioux games when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s. I remember going to UND/NDSU games when they had a freshman game, a JV game and then the main event. We pretty much lived at the U when I was growing up, basketball, football, hockey and countless other events on campus. I am sure there are many on this board with a long history with the Fieldhouse/Hyslop. So, no, playing basketball at UND does not provide trump.

I am beginning to think that you are here only to argue. You asked Sica to provide one example of something Schafer did during his short tenure. Sica obliged and provided documentation of Schafer putting budgeting together. You come back with a BS comment. You stated that Yale, Harvard, Vanderbilt... wouldn't tear down buildings to make way for new. "You would have a fight on your hands". They would remodel instead. I provided a link to where Vandy was tearing down housing to build new, which you didn't accept because what they tore down was ugly. I provided a link to where Yale was involved in a controversy from outside of Yale for tearing down historic buildings. You backpedaled that all campuses have good and bad buildings. It doesn't really sound like you contribute anything positive to this forum. Are you here just to lob grenades and spout off about your contacts at major universities?
-
How about Yale. Weren't they also mentioned as a school that would not allow such things to happen. You point at West Point as "how things are done right". UND is renovating Merrifield Hall. Are they doing it "wrong". Certain buildings allow for renovation and others don't. Decisions are made based on many factors. I don't think you or I have the information that incorporated the deciding factors at UND to make a decision on Hyslop. I would love to see the venue remain, but understand if that is not possible and life will go on. UND will use that land for something that fits with a future vision for the campus.

Wasn’t Vanderbilt one of the examples of schools that would just renovate and not demo to make way for the new? Vanderbilt announces demolition of final Carmichael Towers buildings to continue residential colleges progress I must say that the new looks much better than the old in this case.

St. Cloud State University hopes an accelerated online program will boost enrollment and ease budget woes. Critics say it's exploitive. An interesting piece on how St. Cloud is handling their enrollment death spiral and how the administration hopes to get out of it. They plan to partner with a "for profit" company to do accelerated online learning to pump up their enrollment. The comments to the article are very telling as to what former graduates and people in the area think. The future is not bright at SCSU. One hour away from the 16th largest MSA in the country and their president thinks this is a winning idea.

Reading here, Minot State began as a 2-year teaching college and evolved into a 4 year university with a graduate school.

I do wish that there was a way to keep the venue portion of Hyslop. I have many fond memories of that place. I watched many great basketball games there, including the days of Phil Jackson. Running the UND indoor track meets. Shrine Circus. I also remember going to a Boy/Cub Scout event there when they had the just had the dirt floors. There was a teepee in there with a small open fire and they were making pancakes. Not sure how they got away with that.

Once upon a time there was UND-Williston and UND-Lake Region. Perhaps they should go back to that. I also remember that Bottineau was associated with NDSU.

Here is a snapshot of the schools in the NDUS from 2006-2021.

Here are the enrollment figures for UND from 1884 to 2020. 13,000 wasn't attained until 2003.

Yeah, I am finally alive again. If that was you helping to make that happen, thanks. If it was just me stupid, thank for not pointing that out.

Differing opinions. https://www.snl24.com/soccerladuma/international/ronaldinho-the-best-i-faced-he-is-the-greatest-of-all-time-20200812 He must at least be close. Messi first, Ronaldinho, second. https://www.ranker.com/list/the-best-soccer-players-of-all-time/ranker-soccer My opinion.... I just find Ronaldinho a whole lot more fun to watch. Love the level of skill. The big smile on his face when he played. Wasn't a flopper. How can you not like this guy?..
-
Ronaldinho. Better skills. Better team player and a personality that lit up the stadium.

Go back to the branch campus concept. UND-Williston
