My second hand smoke only effects you if YOU choose to visit establishments that allow smoking. You have the option of frequenting bars and restaurants that are smoke free. You are the one choosing to visit these establishments.

Why don't they just put the Winona feed on the FSSN? I would think that they could get the feed very cheap. I don't know why they don't just have their own broadcast. It never made sence to me to air home games and not away games. I would much rather be watching this on channel 23 and not on a small 3 inch computer window.

I am glad you guys don't smoke. But you have yet to explain why when you already have to the option to go to bars and restaurants that are smoke free, I along with millions of others should not have the same option to go to a bar that does allow smoking. Do you have the option to go to bars and restaurants that are smoke free... YES. So what is wrong with a few bars and restaurants allowing me to smoke? That is my biggest question. When you already have the option to go to bars and restaurants that are smoke free, why do you feel that it is such a huge issue to take the option of me going to a bar that allows smoking away? Again, when you already have the option to go to bars/restaurants that are smoke free... why do you feel it is your duty to take my option of going to a bar/restaurant that does allow smoking away????

I knew it was larger than the 7,000 that people were originally saying. Hopefully this next weekend is a huge crowd for the Potato Bowl.

I am glad you are SMART enough to live a healthy life. Apparently I am not. There are many things in life that have no benefit to humans. Should we get rid of them all. Drinking has no benefits to humans, let's just close down all bars. Movies have no benefits to humans, let's close down all theaters. Once again, what is wrong with me sitting in a bar enjoying a cigarette with my drink while you sit next door in the smoke-free bar? Why must my rights be taken away?

If you guys are so concerned about my health and think that banning smoking in every single bar and restaurant may force me to quite then why don't we just ban tobaco completely. And if you are so concerned about my health, we better ban all alcohol sales and just close all bars. Wouldn't want me to hurt my liver. As I said before I am not trying to convinve people that smoking is healthy. My point is I don't see why we have to try and force EVERY bar and restaurant to go smoke free. What is wrong with some bar/restaurants being smoke free and others allowing smoking for those that want that kind of environment.

They were brand new uniforms. We got them my junior year. They were just so huge and silky that litterally as soon as you started running they came untucked. They were only worn 2 seasons and then replaced.

Actually, in highschool, our basketball uniforms were so big and baggy and made out of such a silky material that we literally had to use athletic tape and tape our jerseys to the inside of our shorts. If they came untucked our coach would pull us out of the game and make us retape them.

Non-smokers have the right to breath smoke-free air, and I have the right to smoke. What I think is stupid is the argument that non-smokers shouldn't be forced to breath smokey air. That is why places like the Italian Moon, Dagwoods, and Suite 49 were already smoke free. Non-smokers had options. An all smoking ban would give me absolutely no options as a smoker. I used to go to Bonzers usually twice a week. I haven't been there since the smoking ban. We have all started going to whitey's where we can smoke. I am not claiming smoking is good for your health, but we are taking away one groups rights just to please a few. Kinda sounds like the NCAA.

So by this logic UND can keep the name Fighting Sioux but just change the logo to an arrow head or eagle feathers. Then UND could state that the day an arrow head or a group of eagle feathers walks into the room and complains about the logo, we will have to listen to them.

As was stated above, Canad Inns is a go except for funding. Everything seems to be in place except they are trying to get a local bank to guarantee the project funding. The word is that they can get funding through some Canadian banks but they would like to have the loans guaranteed locally. It appears that Leo Ledohowski actually is looking out for the interest of Grand Forks. As for the theaters in the Columbia Mall, right now they are finishing up the new food court. That should be open in the next few weeks. After that we should hear somemore info but it sounds like it is still a go.

This is completely my own opinion but those letters seem a little convenient to me. They happened to appear at a very convenient time in a very convenient location. Seems a little convenient for the anti-namers.

Hopefully his casino in Las Vegas can also survive. At least for a while. I have been to LV a few times yet somehow never seem to be able to make it to Ralph's Place.

Great read. Hopefully those in charge at UND are looking at what these other schools are doing and considering combining some of it with what is already going on at UND.

I must say I absolutely loved the new banners. The NC banner was awesome although I still don't understand why they don't also have a National Runner Up banner. I guess if we win a NC this year, they can put a runner up banner between the 2 NC banners. Looks great!!!!

I completely agree. With all that has suddenly started surrounding the athletic department, it is nice to remember why we are all really fans. I am so excited for the football game tomorrow!!!!!
