  1. Super big congratulations to the Sioux on a fabulous season. Big heart and pride playing with only 80 percent of your planned team. Hakstol squeezed every ounce of game out of his players and should be given lots of credit. He didn't have near the team he had last year and made it almost as far. That's a good coach! This Gopher fan thinks you should be very proud of your staff and team! It was a heck of a ride, and next year will be more of the same When I find the first Gopher fan who wants to go to the BigTen, I'll post again.
  2. Please post the audio link for either CC or UND, whichever works. Thanks.
  3. Every year for the last how many years, the Sioux have stumbled early, gotten it together after Christmas, and gone on to do well in the post-season. They always have a good team, often great, and NEVER bad. This year is no exception. The coaches will sort through what looks like ruins now, reshape the pieces, kick some butt, and the Sioux will be in the very thick of things in March. Don't be putting down the players or the coaches, they've done it every year in the past, they'll do it this year. They didn't get stupid just because the calendar turned over a page. Gopher and Sioux fan in Gopherland.
  4. Just finished the UM/MTU game. Analyst, Dubay I think, said before tonight's that Towes and Oshie together have 7 goals and Okposo has 14! Did I hear that right?
  5. I cannot believe you guys are worried about this at this stage of the season!
  6. Which of the eligible Sioux players are going to play in the World Juniors this time?
  7. Every day in the Mpls. Tribune they bring out more on this guy. Today they reported the prosecution's closing argument where he stated that Dru was forced to walk to that ravine, naked from the waist down, already sexually assaulted, hands tied behind her back, a knife wound already in her side, freezing cold, and a cloth hood over her head. In your worst nightmare can you imagine being more scared than she was at that point? I don't think it's possible. I may have had a hard time voting for the death penalty, but NOT after reading that this morning. Think about the time in your life when you were the most scared, then multiply that by about fifty, and that's what Dru Sjodin was feeling when she was stumbling towards that ravine with a hood over her head and her hands tied behind her back.
  8. I guess everyone dies when their number is up. You certainly wouldn't die when your number wasn't up! The trick here is to speed up the date when his number IS up. I am amazed how quickly this is moving along once the initial trial started. Huge wait before, quick trial and deliberations, quick summaries. Now, unfortunately, with any appeals (of course) the wait may be much, much longer than the wait for the trial.
  9. I'm not trying to get hung up on semantics, but I'm not positive that murder and causing her death are exactly the same thing. I sure hope they are. I'm afraid the next phase of the whole process, the sentencing, with the same jury, may take a lot longer. Finding this a**hole guilty may be easy, but making the decision to put him to death may/will be a tough decision for some members of the jury. But, maybe less difficult after they saw the photos of the body. There's got to be a special place in hell for this guy.
  10. The Ralph doesn't meet the seating requirements of the Frozen Four??? How big do you have to be???
  11. McTavish (sp?) just said that Rollie is out for the series! It's all over.

    Dru trial

I see that a half hour ago the attorneys for Rodriguez filed a motion to dismiss the case. They say that the govt. destoyed DNA evidence, that envelopes supposedly containing DNA were either empty or contained only swabs. Wouldn't the swabs have been used for a DNA sample? Last week they wanted to move the trial, now this. Then they wanted more time to prepare! Two plus years isn't enough. Trial date is July 7, I think. The article was on the Star & Tribune website. Here's my solution to the deal. They should have done it last winter. Wait for a hockey game at the Ralph, a big game, MN and UND would be best, because both states are involved in this mess, announce during the first intermission that Rodriguez is going to be "dropped off" out front by the police ten minutes after the game. Then during the second intermission people can start making plans. Then after the game, the cop car pulls up out front by the Indian statue, they kick the asshole out on the concrete, and let the fans take care of the situation. Save a lot of time and a lot of taxpayers' money for trial and prison.
