    DU and UND

Just got to Vail this afternoon and am seriously stoked for the games this weekend! The Sigh-Ox will do well, I really don't expect the tape-to-tape pass, pass, scores like last weekend but last weekend with the goophs was a bust. I'm not sure the pios can bring the shut down defense anymore? Fisher, Mannino, & Gwoz will be the boyz that instigate, Gauth will provide the reality tv highlights, and carle will be nursing the chronic pain from the Finley, Radke, Porter hits. I'm looking forward to Magness, I hear they serve beer No really, I think we'll do well this weekend. I felt we were the better team in Nov. when I went to the games. Saturday the just didn't show up. I understand spring is different than fall but there's really not a good enough team or outlook on a three-peat. The real deal breakers will be Fabian, Porter, Zajac, Toews, Parise, and the collective patience I believe Dave, Brad, & Cary have finally instilled in the team. Duncan will finally beat Peter glove side upper corner, Sparky will be 3-4 points on the weekend, and Radke's going to have the weekend of his career. FWIW?
  3. "Well tanks fer nothin, Danny!"
  4. Well there's no way that's the coliseum or any other rink in FM so I'm not sure what you mean.

    Duluth at UND

I assume you think UMD will beat UND 5-1, but even if the dogz win either night there won't be any 4 goal spread for them. That's just illogical, come on use your head.
  6. Please PM me if you have two for sale for either night. Thanks!
  7. Thanking Minnesota? I think not. The Sioux won two national championships before Herb Brooks ever laid foot there. Oh thanks to the state of Minnesota though for the players that didn't have any desire to play for the MGC.
  8. Favorite Sioux player of all time, Gordie Hangsleben. He's a great man. Favorite D, hands down James Patrick. He'll probably be the best all around D to wear the green. Favorite F, Kevin Spiewak. Great guy, great two-way player, man he's fast Favorite G, Darren Jensen Favorite team, 97 Favorite Sioux moments; Being a UND fan, going through all the flood crap and having our men and women seem to win for the town I'm so proud of being from. I know the flood happened after the men won, but I'll never forget watching the game with my in-laws and reflecting later about all that happened to that great town within a year. Last year's FF was my first in person and will always be special. From meeting the players and their parents, to spending that time with my family (all extroverts when it comes to Sioux hockey), to the pure comraderie of college hockey (meeting other teams fans and stories), to outnumbering and outcheering the gopher fans by a long shot, and then watching the guys leave everything out there. Growing up in GF and going to hundreds of games, bringing dates to games, playing boot hockey in the hall by the alumni room, getting smashed in the crowded original lobby of the new Winter Sports Arena, coming home with hundreds of white plastic cups after games, having one of my first alcoholic drinks out of a "Gino Tumbler", ... Winning meet the Sioux and getting to skate with the team, still have the autographed stick and puck from the event (they're hanging on my son's wall next to his Spiewak, Oshie, and the 04'-05' team sticks). Getting flattened by Dave Tippett while skating backwards, then he and James helped me off the ice. Dave then gave me a signed stick which my little brother cut down to play down at Riverside with. My wife and I spent a few years on hiatus from being die-hard Sioux hockey fans while in college in the early nineties, but it has been the greatest that we've been able to share the experiences together since. Having someone to share this great team and great game with is priceless. Thanks H-wheels!

  10. and....done.
  11. We are going and it should be a great series!
  12. Does it count if your six year old yells at the ref to, "Open up your eyes Sheppard and quit dinking around!" I'm never going to understand where that one came from.
  13. I saw the incident same as you and I am not lying when I say that security did not break it up. They started to come down but never made it to the two men. I sincerely doubt you had any better perspective of the incident than anyone else sitting around section 108. Did I say that anything excused the sign? No, I said that everything with the situation was handled poorly, including the sign itself. But don't paint the single fan in this case when it was a lot of fans poking fun at Tyler. A video of the incident was posted on GPL for gawd sake. Including the laughter at the end. Oh, and another BTW, I didn't call you an a*s so don't start pitching names.
  14. One more note on the whole Bina/Hirsch scenario. I know this thread should be dead, but I must add. The signs at the FFive were nothing short of a reaction to the unknown, the recent signs about Bina were about the known. It's one thing to jump on the bandwagon and laugh along with the crowd about something. The Twin Cities papers laughed at the Hirsch incident, as did people on ESPN, USCHO, GPL, and SS before anyone "knew(?)" what was/is really going on. (No one knows/knew what the problem is/was other than there is one) Everyone recanted and realized later that there was something wrong. It's a whole other level when a person laughs at a something and everyone on the bandwagon turns around and stares and says what the h### is wrong with you. And that same unremorseful person 'does er again'. The two incidents shouldn't be compared at all. Both sides have arrogant fans, the only difference is that Minnesota has more fans, therefore it floats to the top more often. BTW BS, If anyone thinks Chucko's dad is a saint, let me directly quote him from that evening, "Robbie Bina's a Diver!". Security never made it down to the altercation and the fans walked away, there was no seperation. If the mom's were in tears and horrified by what they saw, you'd think some levity and insight might have been shared with the 'trespassers', instead of accosting them. I agree with most that we understand that both sides have poor fans, good fans that make poor choices, and plenty of armchair ethics committees to judge the living and the dead.
  15. Oh, and while I'm ranting about articles, here's another slight on the Sioux from INCH's Myers; Bench Minor WCHA coaches have expressed concern in the past about getting their players
  16. Also from Milewski's article; Final Word The WCHA has been proactive with replay technology. Maybe it's time to push to use that technology to take a second look at all disqualification penalties considering the high price that is paid by the player who gets one. This idea is about as ridiculous as Minnesota High School Hockey reviewing goals by replay. When is this crap going to end and we rely on the officials? The fact that papa and baby chubby (shepard) suck doesn't change that this idea is bad. There are enough tv/review/potty breaks that break up the game as it is. I'd like to see them be able to fight before we start to review whether they were 'naughty enough' or not.
  17. From USCHO's Milewski; Unheard Appeals Minnesota coach Don Lucia was so upset with a call that will keep his most experienced defenseman in the stands for the opener of this weekend's series against North Dakota that he confronted WCHA supervisor of officials Greg Shepherd in the Mariucci Arena hallways after last Saturday's game. Gophers defenseman Chris Harrington and Niagara's Jason Williamson were each assessed fighting majors and game disqualifications for a scuffle in the third period. Lucia claimed it was no more than wrestling and no punches were thrown. The DQ carries a one-game suspension that will sideline Harrington for Friday's game against North Dakota. At present, teams are not given the opportunity to appeal decisions like the assessment of a DQ, which are final once the referee signs the scoresheet. Lucia thinks that's wrong. "When there's an obvious mistake, you should have some recourse to have the ability to appeal a disqualification like that," he said. "There has to be an avenue because we have a situation here where there wasn't a punch thrown and gloves never came off and they wrestled a little bit. But boy, that's a big leap from wrestling to a disqualification because that's such a costly penalty." Can you say WHAAAAAA! Give me a break, I saw the fight and it did not deserve a DQ, but an avenue to appeal a disqualification? How about another appeal to the IIHF officials for 'rough play'? Get a grip. Lucia is a great coach and Sioux fans whine a lot, but he's a friggin baby.
  18. OR..., like Robin Williams has said, "Canada is like a loft apartment above a really great party. 'Keep it down, eh?'"
  19. Hey, maybe Fargo has an 'in' with this one. If Tech takes the McNaughton Cup, NDSU can step up to D1 and offer the soon to be heralded, "McLaughlin Cup", home of the Bison RV's.
  20. We'll know sometime Friday.
  21. You tell me how to paste a windows media player file here and I'll post Hisey's sickness.
  22. What the Hale are you doing here?
  23. baaaahh! He's almost 70% on predictions this season. That would mean we're at least taking 3 points, right?
  24. Hope you all are doing well. It was nice meeting you in St.Paul last year. 11 month old huh. I didn't think there was much for a Sioux fan to celebrate last January.
  25. check it out for yourself here: http://www.minnesotahockeyjournal.com/woogs_wisdom.html ...and I guess I'd disagree with you on Wooger. Frank is the steaming pile.
