  1. What is Bochenski even doing now? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I sincerely hope he's investing his signing bonus wisely.
  2. How about; MY BOLOGNA HAS A FIRST NAME IT'S,... G..O..F..E..R
  3. Funny indeed, I also read that they reported he had signed and emailed the editors at five when I left work. I just told them that once again the were propagating a myth and may want to check their facts. This isn't the first.. tenth or last time they'll do this. Is USCHO owned by USA Hockey or the Inquirer? I get my real news from INCH. Sorry PCM, no hard feelings.
  4. PCM, While I applaud your efforts for starting this by writing the bit for puckmag. AND I very much respect and appreciate your involvement on this board. I have one question... If you throw a bunch of angry cats in a pillowcase what do you suppose will happen? My point: For not talking about much of anything of substance, this post has downward spiraled into one of the worst conjectures of nonsense. Y'all shouldn't get your panties in such a bunch. Nay sayers. I like to read/post/speculate as much as the next guy but the fickle masses here have created a stir so unpositive and unfounded it's hard to comprehend. DH at fault? Bo at fault? We'll be sub .500? Scholarship revoked/lost? You all said those things. Not PCM or his source. Remember that one person (DB) stated that Bo will be gone. I respect that DB has his opinion as we all do, and that his is a more informed opinion. Is is such a stretch to assume that the signing of Bo has been a decision they (Bo/Agent/Family/NHL) have been mudling over for awhile now? Continue the tirade after we get a bit more info.

    Ziggy

    yeah, how bout that?
  6. On POI it's probably more likely all of the Hakstol and Eades talk is more derived out of fear than any disdain for canadians.

    Spiewak

Stingrays Here's a bit about Spiewak. A couple weeks old. FYI if you didn't know, the Stingrays have been quite the Sioux connection; Schneekloth, Calder, Armbrust and others. From his memorable GWG's to his overall play and what he brought to the team, he's one of my all time favorites. Nice work, Kevin, keep up the good work.
  8. Actually Sprig, The Goofs and company have been whining about their 'Pride on Ice' issues and canadian black jack since before the beginning of time. They all tried to kick us and Denver out way back in the day because of 'the Canadian influence'. What they don't ever admit to is that the State of North Dakota, especially the Grand Forks contingent has a pretty equal per capita contribution to the college and pro ranks as most of the schools who question our ethics. Sure Minnesota is the State of Hockey, but when a couple of their 'towns' equal our population by themselves. I'd say us nodakers play some pretty good puck. And as far as the east and the lakes states are concerned, they probably think NoDak is part of Canada anyway. oh, btw... where did someone bring this up again?
  9. SSD you beat me to the punch for this post. The big decision If anyone bumps into this fella next week in GF you might want to first shake his hand and introduce yourself, then talk to him about some numbers; 7 and .641. He wants to win a National Championship, right? I
  10. Marrisa Hangsleben.
  11. I couldn't agree more to any of the above. But to tell the next coach he better produce or he's out? That's miscontrued nepotism to the fickle masses. Go read any of my posts, I've always supported Hakstol and the nation search.
  12. Scott, I'd say you're starting to sound like a blood curtling ditch dwelling goofer from Eagan. You can hang yourself on a coatrack for ridiculous comments like this. Now I know where/why your avatar came from. I only expect the best from the Sioux because I bleed green and that has nothing to do with green backs. Lighten up and go watch basketball if you want the hire/fire mentality.
  13. knock it off, all of you. What WDAY/Z or other media confirmed was what we already knew. No one said anything. The university is following procedure, period. Hakstol/Berry will be given their in-house opportunity and may or may not be welcomed as the head coach. We'll find out the truth soon enough, but as far as I'm concerned nothing has changed. DH would do a fine job but I have to agree that a national search is appropriate and is probably inevitable. I also reitterate, where do you guys think any of our players are going to go? I doubt they'd take a step sideways/down to another college program, money is nice in the minors but that's where you may stay if they don't position themselves correctly, and finally ottawa and edmonton (bochenski/greene) probably have other things on their minds.
  14. Seeing how this came from the Fargo 'Foolum' affiliate, I'd start the accuracy and initial interpretation of the 'facts' right there.
  15. "If we hire internally, it could happen rapidly," Harmeson said. "Roger can make the decision on whether he feels we have candidates qualified internally to fill the job." "My expectation is a decision will be made very soon as which direction we will go," Harmeson said. "I'd like to see it done as soon as possible. For me, I'd have liked to have been rolling on it yesterday." Some reading between the lines could be done here. "I'm excited that they get the chance to lead the program at least on an interim basis," Thomas said, "and that they can keep the traditions alive and help the team stay together." Some things are beyond our control.
  16. I suppose it's completely plausible that Ottawa has been talking about BB but I sincerely doubt it. This and other rumor mills most likely would've leaked something. Where does Hennessy or anyone else think BB is going to go? And yes Hennessy did predict ZP leaving but was also somewhat surprised about it when the reality came. Dream on if you think DS is going to be picked and then signed the next day. Weirder things have happened but if DS and BB are signed up right now, the NHL will have shown us once again that it has serious problems.
  17. UMD and the city of Duluth are building a new arena.
  18. If you mean defections of other good coaches to try and become Head Coach of the Great University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux, I'm with ya. If otherwise, don't worry cuz things always shake out fine for the mighty green.
  19. I'd say Hakstol, Sandelin, then Eades in that order. After that, S. Johnson. Marks? I don't know? They still play hockey in the HEA?? I know they do in the ECHL (check the Sioux lineage in that league) so maybe he'd be a good fit. I would welcome anyone and change is good. Thank you Dean for Twenty great years.
  20. conversely, I'd say something stole our "thunder" a few years after kermit?
  21. Waa, Waa, Waa. Hockey has never been a major sport in everyone's minds. Those of you who fooled yourselves into believing that one, deserve the heart-ache you get. Move to the socialist northland. Those of you who think hockey is going away altogether and compare ratings with other lesser sports, you have about as much vision as a two dollar whore. Wake up. The masses are fickle. All the sports have seen their times of creshendo. Dont' believe the hype, it's a sequel. I love my hockey, you love yours. Yellow jacket, green jacket. Who gives a sh*t?
  22. For those super grand forks, UND die-hard fans; it's nice to see Jason Blake finally being listed as from GF, which is where he grew up until 8th grade, then to Moorhead. The formative years make a difference. Blake has really changed from then. He was one of the smallest, weakest players in junior high at that time to quite the powerhouse now. I'm proud to have known him.
  23. Here's an additional link to the whole story for those interested. History The Christian family is an icon in the world of hockey and it's legacy should and will never be forgotten. I for one named my son after them and wish them the best with their new business endeavors. Long live the wood hockey stick. I do have one of the original Christian Bros aluminum shafts before they sold to Easton and one of the original fiberglass sock blades to go with it. The composites have always been a nuisance. It's time get the control and feel of the wood sticks back on the ice! The composites in the NHL should be thought of in the same light as aluminum bats in major league baseball.
  24. i guess my challenge was to comparitively look at the wcha player ins and outs. to see if any of you had any thoughts on the transitions and who may be the weakest/strongest because of them. sorry, manderleigh if this wasn't your intent. I should've made a new post. I didn't mean for my post to spur a who may/may not be leaving debate from our brethren Sioux. I personally don't think Greene, Bochenski, or Ballard will leave quickly, I do think the goofs are losing the all around best squad and not replacing them with the same caliber. tech isn't losing much but gaining a lot, etc. etc. I'll expound later
